Ted

Now, I want to start with a question: When was the last time you were called childish? For kids like me, being called childish can be a frequent occurrence. Every time we make irrational demands, exhibit irresponsible behavior, or display any other signs of being normal American citizens, we are called childish, which really bothers me. After all, take a look at these events: Imperialism and colonization, world wars, George W. Bush. Ask yourself: Who's responsible? Adults. Now, what have kids done? Well, Anne Frank touched millions with her powerful account of the Holocaust, Ruby Bridges helped end segregation in the United States, and, most recently, Charlie Simpson helped to raise 120,000 pounds for Haiti on his little bike. So, as you can see evidenced by such examples, age has absolutely nothing to do with it. The traits the word childish addresses are seen so often in adults that we should abolish this age-discriminatory word when it comes to criticizing behavior associated with irresponsibility and irrational thinking. (Applause) Thank you. Then again, who's to say that certain types of irrational thinking aren't exactly what the world needs? Maybe you've had grand plans before, but stopped yourself, thinking: That's impossible or that costs too much or that won't

杨澜TED演讲:重塑中国的年轻一代(中英文对照) The night before I was heading for Scotland, I was invited to host the final of “China’s Got Talent” show in Shanghai with the 80,000 live audience in the stadium. Guess who was the performing guest? Susan Boyle. And I told her, “I’m going to Scotland the next day.” She sang beautifully, and she even managed to say a few words in Chinese. [Chinese] So it’s not like “hello” or “thank you,” that ordinary stuff. It means “green onion for free.” Why did she say that? Because it was a li ne from our Chinese parallel Susan Boyle — a 50-some year-old woman, a vegetable vendor in Shanghai, who loves singing Western opera, but she didn’t understand any English or French or Italian, so she managed to fill in the lyrics with vegetable names in C hinese. (Laughter) And the last sentence of Nessun Dorma that she was singing in the stadium was “green onion for free.” So [as] Susan Boyle was saying that, 80,000 live audience sang together. That was hilarious. So I guess both Susan Boyle and this vegetable vendor in Shanghai belonged to otherness. They were the least expected to be successful in the business called entertainment, yet their courage and talent brought them through. And a show and a platform gave them the stage to realize their dreams. Well, being different is not that difficult. We are all different from different perspectives. But I think being different is good, because you present a different point of view. You may have the chance to make a difference. My generation has been very fortunate to witness and participate in the historic transformation of China that has made so many changes in the past 20, 30 years. I remember that in the year of 1990, when I was graduating from college, I was applying for a job in the sales department of the first five-star hotel in Beijing, Great

Hello, everyone!on the past few days, ham and sausage are the most famous words.Beacse WHO said that Processed meat is on the top of the list which may cause cancer. In the same level ,there are the cigarettes and arsenic .What is arsenic? In China,we call it 砒霜.It is terrible to us.And they also said eating just 50 gram of processed meat one day increases the risk of cancer by 18 percent. So what does 50g look like? It’s maybe two slices of smoked ham or half a hot dog.A famous expert suggest the public to avoid processed meat when possible and to have a vegetable salad for lunch rather than a sandwich. And they also said that We have known the probable link between processed meat and cancer, which is supported by massive evidence. It maybe a bad news for hot dog lovers. But this doesn't mean we need to stop eating any processed meat. if someone eat lots of it and he may need to think carefully about whether he should cut it down.In fact, there are a lot of choices for us. We could try having fish for our dinner instead of sausages, or choosing to have a fruit salad for lunch. And someone may say:”W hy is processed meat so bad?”Processed meat is which has been salted, cured, smoked, or any other natural or chemical processes to make them delicious or improve preservation. So processed meat may contain sodium nitrite and sodium nitrate, which are salts added to the meat to preserve it.In the body, they can form the compounds that can damage DNA. Nowdays, many person may do something which is harmful to their health,as they think cancer are far away from them, this words only usesd on newspaper or television.in my opinion, this idea is highly irresponsible. If something bad happen, the total home will be destroy by you. So please ,take care of yourself, not only for you,but also for your family.

英语演讲稿带翻译:我思故我在 dear fellow friends: good morning. today I’m going to share with you the most valuable thing that i have learned at university. i was born in 1977. but my life didn’t begin in the real sense until 1999. prior to that, i spent every hour, every day and every year doing what was expected of me , eating, sleeping, studying, playing, so on and so forth. i didn't have the idea of who i am, what i should do now and next or what life means to me. never had i thought about these questions. this situation lasted for year after year. it underwent few changes even after i entered the university. and it was another two years later that i began to think about these questions, which are of great significance to me, from then on, my life turned over a new leaf, because independent thinking, which didn’t have any place in my life, started to play an important part. first, thinking helps me to know myself, such as my dream, interest, strengths and weaknesses. as we all know, every one of us has his own character, although we are all human beings. it is therefore vital for us to develop a sense of identity, form our own opinions, make our own choices and take responsibility for our own destinies. we won’t be the initiator of our action or in charge of our life, unless we think about our uniqueness and make our individuality clear. to my joy, i’ve started to do that. now i set my own standards and regard them as my code of conduct rather than judge myself by how others estimate me or how much approval

When you are a kid, you get asked this one particular question a lot, it really gets kind of annoying. What do you want to be when you grow up? Now, adults are hoping for answers like, I want to be an astronaut or I want to be a neurosurgeon, youre adults in your imaginations. Kids, theyre most likely to answer with pro-skateboarder, surfer or minecraft player. I asked my little brother, and he said, seriously dude, Im 10, I have no idea, probably a pro-skier, lets go get some ice cream. See, us kids are going to answer something were stoked on, what we think is cool, what we have experience with, and thats typically the opposite of what adults want to hear. But if you ask a little kid, sometimes youll get the best answer, something so simple, so obvious and really profound. When I grow up, I want to be happy. For me, when I grow up, I want to continue to be happy like I am now. Im stoked to be here at TedEx, I mean, Ive been watching Ted videos for as long as I can remember, but I never thought Id make it on the stage here so soon. I mean, I just became a teenager, and like most teenage boys, I spend most of my time wondering,
