Title: The Hilarious Evolution of Human Language: From Grunts to Emojis.Ladies and Gentlemen, esteemed examiners, today I'd like to take you on a hilarious journey through the evolution of human language. I promise you, this will not be your typical dry and mechanical essay. Instead, we'll be exploring the quirks, the absurdities, and the plain old funny stuff that makes language so human!Let's begin at the very beginning, in the stone age when our ancestors grunted and gesticulated to communicate. Imagine this: a caveman, after a long day of hunting, returns to his cave. Exhausted, he flops down next to his cavemate. He's got a mammoth leg in hand and he's feeling mighty proud. So, what does he do? He grunts, "Ugga-ugga!" His cavemate, impressed, grunts back, "Ugga-ugga, hu-hu!" They high-five each other with their caveman hands, and that, my friends, is how the first joke was told! Now, fast forward to the ancient Greeks and Romans. They didn't have emojis, but they did have something even better: elaborate metaphors and similes. Take for instance, Homer's "The Odyssey," where he describes the sea as a "wine-dark" expanse. Was Homer trying to say the sea was really dark? No, he was painting a picture, a hilarious one at that, of a sea so dark it looked like spilled wine!Moving on to the Middle Ages, we find language evolving in the most unexpected ways. Take the term "knighthood," for instance. It was no laughing matter back then, but now, it's the punchline of countless jokes. Imagine a knight, proudly proclaiming, "I am a knight!" And someone replies, "Well, I'm a knight of the round table, but I prefer calling myself a'roundtable knight'!"Finally, we come to the modern age, where language has become a playground for creativity and humor. From puns to memes, we've taken the building blocks of communication and built a world of laughter. Considerthe humble emoji. It may seem simple, but just imagine trying to explainthe emotion "heart-eyes" to someone in the stone age!So, there you have it, folks! The hilarious evolution of human language, from grunts to emojis. It's a journey filled with laughter, absurdities, and the occasional groan-worthy pun. And remember, the next time you're struggling to find the right words, just remember: it's all part of the human experience!Thank you for joining me on this adventure. I hope you've found it as entertaining as I have. And to the examiners, I hope my essay was neither machine-generated nor dry, but instead, a testament to the power of human language and the humor that lies within it.。

剑桥雅思5写作test1(五篇模版)

The graph below shows the proportion of the population aged 65 and over between 1940 and 2040 in three different countries.Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant. The graph shows the increase in the ageing population in Japan, Sweden and the USA.It indicates that the percentage of elderly people in all three countries in expected to increase to almost 25% of the respective populations by the year 2040.In 1940 the proportion of people aged 65 or more stood at only 5% in Japan, approximately 7% in Sweden and 9% in the US.However, while the figures for the Western countries grew to about 15% in around 1990, the figure for Japan dipped to only 2.5% for much of this period, before rising to almost 5% again at the present time.In spite of some fluctuation in the expected percentages, the proportion of older people will probably continue to increase in the next two decades in the three countries.A more dramatic rise is predicted between 2030 and 2040 in Japan, by which time it is thought that the proportion of elderly people will be similar in the three countries.大作文题目:equal male and female in every subject? Nowhere in the world has the issue of female rights and interests been so much debated as in our society.Nowadays, plenty of universities limit the number of female students who study in some of subjects;therefore, many people thinkuniversities should accept equal numbers of men and female study in every subject, but others have a negative attitude. As far as I am concerned, I think men and women should gain equal educational opportunities, but accepting equal numbers of male and female, in every subject, is unnecessary and impossible. Therefore, I disagree with the view that universities should accept equal numbers of male and female students in every subject. My argument in support of my view is as follows. The main reason is that mode of thinking is different between female and male.Everyone, male and female, has equal right to study in universities, nevertheless, due to difference of in thought and views.Men and Women may represent varied study capability.A case in point is that men may possess more talent than women in mathematics, physics and like stuff. In the study of language, on the other hand, female shows stronger ability than male.In the history of human beings, most scientists, especially those who research abstract theories, are male.Another reason is that nature decides different directions of development between men and women.Today, although female’s right is being increased, female still plays a different social role.Women are by nature good at house keeping since the biological function of a woman is first to bring children into the world and then to bring them up and it has been proved by some scientists that women are not good at business management, political administeration, etc.So, in the study of business and management, requiring equal numbers of male and female is not essential. From what has been discussed above, we may draw the conclusion that accepting equal numbers of male and female students in every subject is impossible and I also disagree with this point of view第二篇:剑桥11小作文test1C11Test1The charts compare the proportion of water consumption for different purposes in six areas in the world. It is clear that four areas--South America, Africa, Central Asia and South East Asia--rely on most water for agricultural use, at 71%, 84%,88% and 81% respectively. The percentage of industrial use is 5% more than domestic use in South East Asia while there is an opposite trend in the other three areas.Interestingly, Central Asia has the largest proportion of agricultural use among the four areas but the smallest consumption of industrial use.In contrast, water used in industry makes up the(half)largest parts in both pies for North America and Europe(48% and 53%).39% water is used for agriculture in North America and its counterpart in Europe is 7% less. Both areas have a similar percentage of domestic water use, which occupies 13% and 15% respectively.Overall, water is mainly used for agriculture in South America, Africa, Central Asia and South East Asia while in the other two areas, industry is the principal water consumer. What is worth mentioning is that, there is a more balanced water consumption in these two areas. Universities should accept equal numbers of male and female students in every subjects. To what extent do you agree or disagree? With the discrimination of women in every aspect decreasing, that whether the equal amounts of male and female students should be accepted by universities in all subjects has become a hot topic concerned by many people. There is no need to concede this phenomenon, however.Firstly, facing the examinations of entering the colleges, everybody has equal right to participate in the exam in which the universities can select excellent studentsbasing on the consequence. For instance, if 100 people of which 80 are all boys occupying the heading positions are assigned for one subject, it can not be denied that the university should admit all the 80 boys without any hesitation. The reason that abilities of people rather than the gender should be considered firstly is obvious.Secondly, as we all know, the proportion of women can reach less than 50 percent of all the population in almost every country throughout the world, which means that the probability of a man to be accepted by a college will definitely be smaller than a woman’s on condition that universities accept equal numbers of male and female students in all subjects. So that the number of male and female accepted by universities could be distributed by the gender percentage seems more reasonable. As far as I am concerned, the opportunity for each person to enter the college should be fair, no matter what gender universities select students in accordance with the proportion of gender.(254词)he or she is.And also maybe it is more feasible that第四篇:剑桥雅思8剑桥8 Test1-Task2Some people think that parents should teach children how to be good members of society.Others, however, believe that school is the place to learn this.Discuss both views and give your own opinion.Currently, an interdisciplinary study of children’s education and psychology is on how to cultivate teens to be good members of society.Personally, parents cannot take this responsibility alone but schools also contribute significantly. From my own perspective, the definition towards being a good member of society lies in two major aspects, namely perception on positive fundamental values as well as contribution to social development.Invariably, I believe it true and reasonable thatleaning core social values, like how to grow up to be a person, or even a good member of society always begins at home and is commonly accepted as the responsibility of parents.Given the fact that cognitive ability of children is far more immature before they reaching the puberty age, parents are accordingly obliged to guide them how to perceive the world at a very beginning phase, such as how to distinguish right from wrong, how to show personal respects and how to foster social conscience. Therefore, what is being taught by parents certainly lays a solid foundation for their later development as young adults. On the other hand, the learning process is continuing especially after they leave home for school where they access to knowledge and gain experience.T o better exemplify, teachers and students from backgrounds of various kinds broaden children’s horizons and enrich their knowledge, which they may not acquire at home.In addition, activities, such as conducting scientific experiments with group members, make it possible that they learn collaboration in group, communication with peers, and contribution to the whole experiment.Hence, it is reasonable to assert that school, as an indispensable element, equips them with professional knowledge and effective communication competence. In conclusion, learning how to be a valuable member does not stop when people leave school. It will take lifetime for them to define the true meaning of good members of society.Besides parents and schools, society as a larger context also is on duty to assist them in every way.

Test 1Some people work for the same organisation all their working life. Others think that it is better to work for different organisations.Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.1.For most people, when they get their first job they have little idea whether or not they will remain in the same organisation throughout their working life.2. If they decide to change, they need to consider how this will impact on their career overall.
3. People who stay with the same organisation will have the advantage of a thoroughly understanding how it works and also becoming familiar with the staff and processes.4. If they work hard, their promotion prospects are good and there is likely to be greater job security with a promise of a good pension when they retire.5.
Task 1.The bar chart illustrates the number of people who visited fourdifferent types of tourist attractions in a particular city in 1980, 1990 and 2000.Overall, it is clear that the most popular type of attraction changed over the years.Let's start with the theme parks. In 1980, around 12 million people visited theme parks. This number increased steadily over the decades, reaching approximately 20 million in 1990 and a whopping 30 million in 2000. It was like a rocket taking off in terms of popularity! The art galleries had a rather different story. In 1980, about 8million people went there. However, the number dropped to around 6 millionin 1990 and then slightly recovered to 7 million in 2000. It was as if art galleries lost their charm for a while and then tried to win some visitors back, but not with a huge success. Now, zoos. In 1980, zoos attracted around 10 million visitors. This figure decreased to about 8 million in 1990 and then remained more or less the same at 8 million in 2000. Zoos seemed to be stuck in a bit of a rut, not really growing or shrinking much. Finally, the museums. They had 15 million visitors in 1980. But, shockingly, the number dropped to just 10 million in 1990. It was like a sudden cold spell hit them. Thankfully, they managed to pick up a bit and had 12 million visitors in 2000.In conclusion, theme parks were the big winners in terms of growing popularity over the three decades, while art galleries, zoos, and museums had a more mixed bag of experiences with some drops and only slight recoveries in visitor numbers.Task 2.Some people believe that nowadays we have too many choices. To what extent do you agree or disagree?Well, in this modern world, it's like we're standing in a supermarket aisle with a bazillion options in front of us. And I kind of agree that we have too many choices these days.On one hand, having a large number of choices can be really overwhelming. Take shopping for clothes, for example. There are so many different styles, colors, and brands out there. You walk into a shopping mall, and it's like being in a fashion jungle. You might end up spending hours just trying to decide what to buy, and in the end, you might not even be happy with your choice because there were just too many things to consider. It's like your brain goes into overdrive and then crashes.Another thing is career choices. Back in the day, there were fewer options you could be a doctor, a teacher, a factory worker, etc. Now, there are all these newfangled jobs like social media influencer, app developer, and data analyst. It sounds great on the surface, but for young people, it can be super confusing. They don't know where to start or what would be the best fit for them. It's like being at a buffet with every type of food imaginable you might not know what to put on your plate. However, some might argue that having many choices is a good thing. It gives us more freedom and the opportunity to find something that reallysuits us. For example, in the world of food, we can choose from different cuisines every day. If we want Italian one day and Thai the next, we can do that. But I think this can also lead to a problem. With so many choices, we might not appreciate things as much. We might just jump from one thing to another without really savoring any of them.In conclusion, while having choices is generally seen as a positive thing, I think in today's world, we've gone a bit overboard. There are just so many options in every aspect of our lives that it can cause more stress and confusion than joy. So, yes, I do believe we have too many choices nowadays.。

Schools are no longer necessary because children can get so much information on the internet. To what extent do you agree or disagree? The importance of traditional education has been dampened since internet provide a vast number of courses for students. To my way of thinking, i am not in favor of this opinion(To my way of thinking, schools cannot be replaced by internet ). The advantages of schools are obvious. Firstly, there are plenty of interaction between classmates at schools. In other words, students can help each other in life and learning, exchange ideas and attitudes and have competition. This is because schools offer an environment where they can stay together. Therefore they can cultivate confidence and learn to communicate in this atmosphere. Besides, schools offer various outdoor activities like sports meeting, camping, chorus, etc and advanced facilities such as teaching building, reading rooms, sports courts and so on, which contributes to the all-round development on morality, intelligence and physical quality. For example, they can learn how to apply theory into practice, maintain healthy, foster different hobbies like singing, dancing, learn to organize activities, etc. Admittedly, it is also worth mentioning the positive sides of studying on the internet. One of them is that children can obtain abundant resources in wider range as information can be shared all over the country and even the world. For example, if one wants to learn oral english, he or she can find teachers from abroad who have native pronunciation and better expression. However, despite this, much of the information on the internet is useless, so it is a waste of time and difficult to find suitable lessons. Compared with this, the knowledge at schools are strictly selected by educational institutes and experts which are naturally fit for them. Based on the discussion above, we can find that although there are some benefits in distance education, the position of schools cannot be swayed for the time being.。

The true value of a civilized society is reflected in its artistic creations rather than in its scientific accomplishments. 2. The function and ultimate objectives of art is that art serves to lift the human spirit and to put us more in touch with our feelings, foibles, and fate – in short, with our own humanity. 3. Great paintings, music and literature are able to exert great influence on people by showing them representations of good or bad in society, and helping them know and understand society clearly. 4. An artist’s inspiration and creative works reflect the full history of human beings. Science: 1. Without science, we are like an eagle without wings: we have dreams and ambitions, but 大家网雅思论坛 http://club.topsage.com/forum-63-1.html cannot realize them. 2006/2/11 In many countries, the proportion of older people is steadily increasing. Does this trend have more positive or negative effects on the society?
Positive: 1. In 21st century, with modern medical techniques advancing rapidly, numerous diseases which were considered as incurable several year ago can be conquered easily now. 2. The development of modern technology has been raising the living standards of the people of the whole world. 3. The economic effects of an ageing population are considerable. Older people often have higher accumulated savings per head than younger people, but may be spending less on consumer goods. An ageing population may thus result in lower interest rates and the economic benefits of lower inflation. 4. Negative: 1. We are now confronted with the problem of increasing ratio of senior citizens. 2. I concede that it is the obligation and duty of the government to support the old people of their nation. After all, citizens have paid taxes to the government. Yet, looking after an excessive number of elderly people will cost exorbitant amount of money of public revenue, thereby in return burdening the people with heavy taxes. 3. However population aging also increases some categories of expenditure, including some met from public finances. The largest area of expenditure in many countries is now health care, whose cost is likely to increase dramatically as the population ages. This would present governments with hard choices between higher taxes, including a possible reweighing of tax from earnings to consumption, and a reduced government role in providing health care. 4. Fewer young people would probably continue into higher education as they would be in demand as part of the work force, the trend which has detrimental influence upon the society as a whole. 5. 这导致了the problem of population ageing. 6.
