Pride and Prejudice focuses on the importance of marriage to the lives of women of the gentry in the late eighteenthand early nineteenth-century England. When we focus exclusively on the issue of marriage in the novel, however, the fact that many women of Austen’s time never married is often overlooked. Life for women without husbands was very different form life for those with living mates
Pride and Prejudice

MR.BENNET had very often wished ,before this period of his life ,that ,instead of spending his whole income ,he had laid by an annual sum for the better provision of his children ,and of his wife ,if she survived him.He now wished it more than ever.Had he done his duty in that respect ,Lydia need not have been indebted to her uncle for whatever of honour or credit could now be purchased for her.The satisfaction of prevailing on one of the most worthless young men in Great Britain to be her husband might then have rested in its proper place. He was seriously concerned that a cause of so little advantage to any one should be forwarded at the sole expence of his brother-in-law ,and he was determined ,if possible ,to find out the extent of his assistance ,and to discharge the obligation as soon as he could. When first Mr.Bennet had married ,economy was held to be perfectly useless ;for ,of course ,they were to have a son. This son was to join in cutting off the entail ,as soon as he should be of age ,and the widow and younger children would by《傲慢与偏见》(Pride and Prejudice )是英国女小说家简·奥斯汀的长篇小说。

Pride and Prejudice小说英语读后感1The feeling of 《Pride And Prejudice》Then man treat great event in one’s life with punishing, Demonstrate different attitudes to the love question of the marriage of young girl of the family origin of middle class of villages and towns, Thus reflected authors oneself’s marriage view: It is wrong to get married for the property, money and position; Get married and does not consider that above-mentioned factors are unwise too . So, she objects to getting married for money , objecting to regarding the marriage as a trifling matter . She emphasizes the importance of the ideal marriage , and regard men and women’s emotion as the foundation stone which concludes the ideal marriage .The woman protagonist in the book Elizabeth comes from thelittle landlord’s family, reaches the west to have deep love for for the rich and powerful people sons and younger brothers. Reach the disparity of ignoring family status and wealth of the west, propose to her, but is refused. Elizabeth’s misunderstanding and prejudice to him are a reason, but a main one is the arrogance that she dislikes him. Reach the thes of the west in fact status’ the reflections of difference, exist this kind arrogant, Not having common thoughts and feelings between he and Elizabeth, the marriage that can not have lofty ideals . Elizabeth watches conducting oneself in society and a series of behavior of reaching the west personally afterwards, See he change the proud conceited expressions of passing by, dispel misunderstanding and prejudice to him, Thus concluded the happy marriage with him.Pride and Prejudice小说英语读后感2This is the famous British writer Jane Austen masterpiece "Pride and Prejudice" in the opening section, leads some in the early nineteenth century England and on the value of the classic love story. As we all know, in Austin, in the novel by Quebec five daughters getting different treatment, shown township middle-class families of marriage for girls who love thedifferent attitudes, which reflected the author I love the idea of marriage: the sake of property, money and the - The marriage is wrong; The marriage did not take into account the above factors also stupid.() Therefore, she opposes the money for the purpose of marriage, also opposes the marriage lightly. She stressed the importance of an ideal marriage, and the feelings of both men and women as the cornerstone of the conclusion of the marriage ideal. The story of Quebec heroine Elizabeth (Keira Terri) was born to a family of small landowners four sisters, Sister Jane Quebec, Quebec sister Mary, Katie Quebec and Laidiya Quebec. Five sisters and a little monotonous quiet life along with the two young guys coming up and it is undeniable-and eliminate the waves. Bin Heli healthy and progressive and rich Darcy (Matthew Mike Deng) is a good friend, became acquainted with the town lure of this home, "five", a beautiful and full of "Pride and Prejudice" love story.Pride and Prejudice小说英语读后感3Many people simply regard Pride and Prejudice as a love story, but in my opinion, this book is an illustration of the society at that time. She perfectly reflected the relation between money and marriage at her time and gave the people inher works vivid characters. The characters have their own personalities. Mrs. Bennet is a woman who makes great efforts to marry off her daughters. Mr. Bingley is a friendly young man, but his friend, Mr. Darcy, is a very proud man who seems to always feel superior. Even the five daughters in Bennet family are very different. Jane is simple, innocent and never speaks evil of others. Elizabeth is a clever girl who always has her own opinion. Mary likes reading classic books. (Actually she is a pedant.) Kitty doesn’t have her own opinion but likes to follow her sister, Lydia. Lydia is a girl who follows exotic things, handsome man, and is somehow a little profligate. When I read the book, I can always find the same personalities in the society now. That is why I think this book is indeed the representative of the society in Britain in the 18th century. The family of gentleman in the countryside is Jane Austen’s favourite topic. But this little topic can reflect big problems. It concludes the stratum situation and economic relationships in Britain in her century. You can find these from the very beginning of this book. The first sentence in this book is impressive. It reads: “It is a truth well known to all the world that an unmarried man in possession of a large fortune must be in need of a wife”.The undertone is very clear: the foundation of the marriage at that time is not emotion but possession.People always think that Austen was an expert at telling love stories. In fact, the marriage in her book is not the result of love, but the result of economic needs. After reading this book, I know the truth is that a poor woman must be in need of a husband, a wealthy man.I couldn’t forget how eager Mrs. Bennet wants to marry off her daughters. If you want to know why she is so crazy about these things, I must mention the situation in Britain at that time. Only the eldest son had the privilege of inheriting his father’s possessions. Younger sons and daughters who are used to luxurious lives have no choice but marry a man or woman in possession of a large fortune to continue their comfortable lives. Thus, we can see that getting married is a way to become wealthier, particularly for women without many possessions. Jane Austen told us that money and possession determined everything, including marriage and love in her century. In “Pride and Prejudice”, the sister of Mr. Bingley strongly opposed his plan of marrying Jane because the Bennets don’t have many possessions and their social positions are much lower than them. From this, we can see there are a lot ofobstacles for a not very rich woman to marry a wealthy husband. The society, the relatives would not allow them to get married. In modern society, although the marriages of economic needs have decreased rapidly, the concept of “money determines everything” is still rooted in some people’s mind. A lot of parents try hard to interfere their children’s marriages. Education background, possessions, jobs remains the main reason that may influence one’s marriage. Marry for money is still a big problem in our society. We can’t help thinking: can money determine everything?Austen left this problem for us to think. The genius of Jane Austen lies in this perfect simplicity, the simplicity that reflects big problems. Although Austen was only 21 when she wrote “Pride and Prejudice”, her sharp observation of social lives makes the style of this book surprisingly mature and lively. The plots in her works are always very natural. The development of the plot is as inevitable as a problem in mathematics. I think the depth of Pride and Prejudice is the reason that makes this book prominent and classic. Today, her book still can be the guide telling us the economic relationships both at her time and in modern time.【Pride and Prejudice小说英语读后感范文(精选3篇)】终于写完毕了,希望能够帮助到大家,谢谢!。

THE first week of their return was soon gone. The second began. It was the last of the regiment ’s stay in Meryton ,and all the young ladies in the neighbourhood were drooping apace. The dejection was almost universal. The elder Miss Bennets alone were still able to eat ,drink ,and sleep ,and pursue the usual course of their employments.Very frequently were they reproached for this insensibility by Kitty and Lydia ,whose own misery was extreme ,and who could not comprehend such hard-heartedness in any of the family.“Good Heaven !What is to become of us !What are we to do !”would they often exclaim in the bitterness of woe.“How can you be smiling so ,Lizzy ?”Their affectionate mother shared all their grief ;she remembered what she had herself endured on a similar occasion ,five and twenty years ago.“I am sure ,”said she ,“I cried for two days together when Colonel Millar ’s regiment went away.I thought I should have broke my heart.”“I am sure I shall break mine ,”said Lydia.“If one could but go to Brighton !”observed Mrs.Bennet.《傲慢与偏见》(Pride and Prejudice )是英国女小说家简·奥斯汀的长篇小说。

Pride and Prejudice
WHEN they were gone ,Elizabeth ,as if intending to exasperate herself as much as possible against Mr.Darcy ,chose for her employment the examination of all the letters which Jane had written to her since her being in Kent. They contained no actual complaint ,nor was there any revival of past occurrences ,or any communication of present suffering. But in all ,and in almost every line of each ,there was a want of that cheerfulness which had been used to characterize her style ,and which ,proceeding from the serenity of a mind at ease with itself ,and kindly disposed towards every one ,had been scarcely ever clouded.Elizabeth noticed every sentence conveying the idea of uneasiness with an attention which it had hardly received on the first perusal.Mr.Darcy ’s shameful boast of what misery he had been able to inflict gave her a keener sense of her sister ’s sufferings. It was some consolation to think that his visit to Rosings was to end on the day after the next ,and a still greater that in less than a fortnight she should herself be with Jane again ,and enabled to contribute to the recovery of her spirits by all that affection could do.She could not think of Darcy ’s leaving Kent without remembering that his cousin was to go with him ;but Colonel Fitzwilliam had made it clear that he had no intentions at all ,and《傲慢与偏见》(Pride and Prejudice )是英国女小说家简·奥斯汀的长篇小说。

My "action" in
PART1 Before Reading
We have read this book since last semester. Not only in evening class ,but also in
the English class. To tell the truth, I thought it was so boring that we would fall asleep.
It tells us a story which is very difficult to understand. So in my opinion, writing a
passage which includes 500 words really make me
disappointed. It can't be any other
feelings from this book.
PART2 Reading process
Although I didn't like the book. But from a special opportunity, I have a chance
to watch the movie Pride And Prejudice which act by
Keira Knightley and Matthew
Macfadyen. This classic story could not be presented better than it is this film. From that
movie ,I could remember the story clearly and remember the relation between the
members in the book. You may think it is not good for my homework. But I should say that
movie let me re-know the classical story. Now, it isn't a boring story which just tell us a truth.
Though it first published in 1813, but from the movie I could know more ideas. Elizabeth is
the second of five daughters. The main characters both in the movie and the book deals
with issues of manners, morality, education, and marriage in the society of the landed
gentry of early 19th-century England. We can see the pride on Mr. Darcy and prejudice on
Elizabeth Bennet.
PART3 After reading [Thinking]
All of the girls take notice. Mr. Bingley is quite rich and handsome enough when a new
man moves into the neighborhood. But we could feel that
Elizabeth Bennet have a little love to
him and her heart is clean. While this time Mrs. Bennet have a little foolish. Through a series of town
meetings, country visits, and more, Elizabeth and Darcy meet again and again. These stories tell us more
about emotions. The feeling of love need to be care from both sides. Pride and Prejudice won't make a
couple love each other. They will finally broke down through many
arguments :). In many elders'
mind this is a famous country love story. But I think it is a think it is a inspirational story. As we
all know that book first name as First Impressions. So I definitely find out what I really need
through reading the books. In every aspects ,it could tell the pride and the prejudice, especially
in the description of eyesight.
The performers which I like the most is Mr. Bingley. Because
he has the best personality in the story I think ,which is outstanding and helpful. Every
time I meet somebody or something, my thinking about he or it all depends on my the
experience and my mood of the time. That is the best attitude to the life, love.
PART4 At last I want to say
I love this story, it arouse people’s awareness of the importance of true love in a
marriage , also it make me believe the true love.
