苏格兰短裙,叫做“kilt”,这不过地道的苏格兰语。按照惯例,
裙子是女人的专利,但是“kilt”却成了苏格兰男人的传统服装,即
便到了现代社会,欧洲人个个儿都西装革履;不过,苏格兰短裙仍然
是风头不减,粉丝众多。
苏格兰短裙是一种及膝的背面和侧面有褶皱的民族服装,由羊毛
布料制成,有格状花纹,源于16世纪苏格兰高地男子的传统服装。19
世纪以来,苏格兰短裙在苏格兰文化尤其是作为凯尔特人的盖尔人遗
产而广泛流行起来,现今多用于高地运动会等正式场合,近年来多为
苏格兰男性日常服装。
kilt是由一整套服装组成,包括:一条长度及膝的方格呢裙,一
件色调与之相配的背心和一件花呢夹克,一双长筒针织厚袜。裙子用
皮质宽腰带系牢,下面悬挂一个大腰包,挂在花呢裙子前面的正中央,
有时肩上还斜披一条花格呢毯,用卡子在左肩处卡住。花呢面料非常
讲究,上面绘有连续的大方格,每块方格都要鲜明地体现出来。据说,
现代苏格兰短裙多由长达八米的布料在腰线处钉在一起,背面和侧面
便形成厚厚的褶皱。
