They have learned English for 2 years so far. Most of them are very interested in English, and can communicate with each other fluently using the sentence patterns they have learned. It is known to us that the kids are very active and like playing games very much, so during my class, I’ll design some interesting games to activate them to participate and learn something. PresentationFirstly, I will stick four pictures with different scenery in four seasons on the Bb and describe each picture and ask them what season it is. Here I will introduce the word “season”. Then according to the pictures, tell them the four seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter one by one and stick the four words below the pictures. Then lead the Ss to read them, make sure they can say them correctly. At the same time, ask them what’s the weather like in each season, and what’s your favorite season. Secondly, listen to the tape. Let the Ss imitate to read and spell them out. Pay attention to their pronunciation and intonation.Thirdly, Play a game: who is faster.Proper competition can arouse Ss’ interest in learning English. I will divide the Ss into four groups to have a competition and each one represents a season. I will show them the picture of one season. The group representing the right season stand up immediately. Ss who react fastest will be the winner.This step is not to present the new words one by one, but with the help of the multimedia and the pictures, it can provide a real situation to understand the meaning of the words and to arouse the Ss’interest in English learning. A competition can encourage them to try by themselves and improve their ability of learning.Step 3. PracticeFirst, do pair-work. One shows the picture or act, and ask what’s the season, what’s the weather like and the other answer.Then I will ask several students to ask and answer in pairs before the class.After that, I will draw four stark trees on the Bb and invite four Ss to complete them in accordance with the season. Give them five hands if they draw right and well.This part is very important in the lesson. The Ss’ abilities of speaking and communication will be well trained. By saying loudly and freely , they will feel happy and successful during this part. By way of communication, the Ss will understand the meaning of the structure better and master the knowledge firmly.Step 4. ConsolidationGive them a task: Make a short dialogue betwee n the two to talk about ….This part is the consolidation of the key structure, and also is an extensive activity for the Ss. During this part ,the Ss can think and say by themselves, they will be glad to use the knowledge they have learnt, and their creative ability will be well trained.Step 5. Summary.Lead the Ss to summarize what they have learned to strengthen their memory of the knowledge.Step 6. HomeworkAsk the Ss to recite and copy the words , finish the exercises in the workout book or to make a survey about what’s their friends’ favorite season.Part 7 Blackboard designI will make a clear and simple blackboard design to present the words and sentence patterns that need to be mastered in this lesson. The pictures of the four seasons are stuck on the Bb in a row with each season word below. And the two sentences are written on the right.In a word, the whole period is based on tasks, which are designed from easy steps to steps that are challenging.
