My name is Jenny. I have been volunteering for about 16 years. I got a serious
illness so I had to stop working. My sister suggested that I should do voluntary work which I
had never thought of before.
I then decided to start volunteering in a hospital. The volunteers were making a team
and chatting and I thought I'd like to help patients in that way too. In the Chapel (小礼拜堂),
we take it in turns to do prayers (祈祷) for patients and we each have a room where we go
and talk to patients. In the hospital, I often make tea and speak to patients especially if I see
the patients who are sitting there on their own or don't have visitors. I go to the Chapel every

反身代词
表示反射或强调的代词称为反身代词。反身代词可译为“本人；本身”，为加强语气也常译为“亲自；自己”。反身代词有人称和数的变化，具体参见课本P108。
反身代词的功用
◆可作动词或介词的宾语。如：
My brother can’t dress himself. (作动词的宾语)
Their teacher never thinks about herself. (作介词的宾语)
◆也可用作主语或宾语的同位语，表示强调，反身代词要重读。反身代词强调主语，其位置比较灵活。如：
I myself will present the prizes. / I will present the prizes myself. (作主语的同位语)
I wanted to see Mike himself. (作宾语的同位语)
注意：用反身代词作同位语时，要避免某些歧义现象。如：
Mrs. Smith will go and see Nancy herself.
(史密斯夫人将亲自去看望南希。/ 史密斯夫人将去看望南希本人。)
◆还可用在系动词后作表语。如：
