Step 1. Resivion
Perform some actions and make sentences.
Say: Hello, boys and girls. Nice to see you here again.
Today we’re going to learn Unit 6. We are going to talk about
everyday activities.
And now I'll act out some activities and you can guess what I’m
doing.
Ask the students to repeat the two sentences several times.
Open a book and read it.
Ask some students to do some simple actions and ask them the
questions.
Say: I will ask some students to do some simple actions and tell me
what you are doing.
Step2 Presentation
Ask the students to read the words and the picture, and then match the
activities with the pictures a–i.
Encourage or help the students to say something about the picture and
do the match work.

This activity provides guided reading and listening practice using the
target language.
1. read the four lines to students. Explain that they are in the wrong
order. When they are in the right order, they will make a clear
conversation.
2. Point out the number 1 in the box in front of the words, “What are
you doing?” Say, This is the first part of the conversation. Write
numbers 2,3, and 4 in the boxes to complete the message.
3. As students work, move around the room and check their progress.
4. Check the answers by replaying the recording. Ask two students to
read the completed conversation.

Two groups of pictures show what four students are doing at their
desks. One group of pictures shows four students are sitting at their
desks doing something . the other group of pictures shows clearly what

Ⅰ. Analysis of the students
Junior One students have learnt the present progressive tense in the primary
school. And they have mastered some words and expressions about this tense. They
know how to describe the tense simply, but they still have difficulty in using this tense
to speak well by looking at the pictures in the oral English test. Besides, they show
great interest in English.
Ⅱ．Analysis of the Teaching Material
The topic is selected from 《Go for it 》7B Unit 6. T The main idea of this unit is
to talk about what people are doing. It is close to students` daily life. So it is helpful to
raise learning interests of the students and it will be also helpful to improve their
spoken English.

主题单元学习概述
本主题单元题目是“I’m watching TV”，取材于人教版七年级下册第六单元。该单元是
初中阶段第一次正式涉及到现在进行时，同时也与第七单元It’s raining相衔接，故本单元
在初中阶段现在进行时的教学地位可见一斑。
该单元开篇以同一时间人们进行不同活动的场面将学生带入到谈论日常活动的话题
中，并通过创设“打电话“场景让学生们在具体情境中感悟、理解和学习现在进行时的用法。
第二部分通过时差现象自然引入了中英文在电话会话中的表达差异，最后以中国传统节
日端午节为切入视角，让学生们领略中西方不同文化的差异。
这一单元的学习重点是让学生们在具体语境中感悟、理解和学习现在进行时的用法，
特别是现在进行事态一般疑问句及其回答；教学难点是让学生对一般现在时态和现在进
行时态的概念有所区别，以及把握动词现在分词的构成方法。
依据语言学习“感知、体会、理解、运用”的认知规律，将本单元的学习划分为三个
专题。
专题一： 如何用现在进行时态对人们正在进行的动作进行熟练地提问和回答？
