In the absence of any other agreement the material changes have to be completed one year ahead of the statutory date at the latest.5Informing suppliersAlways the valid version of the N 2580-1, the supplier declaration and an information letter on what has changed compared to the preceding edition are available at (click path: > Purchasing & logistics > Download service). If required, Bosch purchasing can send the supplier an action-specific supplier declaration that is abridged and/or filled in in advance (see appendix tab “Notes”).6Rules for performing the declaration6.1Supplier declarationThis Bosch-Norm makes available, with the appendix “Supplier declaration”, the option of an electronic declaration (Excel file). Regarding the use of other declaration formats see section 6.2 How to process the supplier declaration is described in tab “Notes” in the supplier declaration.The supplier declaration needs to be returned to the responsible Bosch purchasing authority as follows: The cover sheet signed and in raster format (e. g. PDF) together with the entire Excel file in onee-mail. By exception, e. g. in the absence of the data processing conditions, the supplier declaration may be sent to Bosch on paper.In the Bosch business division Automotive Aftermarket the following applies: for merchandize for the Independent After Market (IAM) the appendix “Supplier Declaration” has to be used.6.2Using other declaration formatsDeclaration formats that are standardized externally or else accepted by the Bosch customer may be used if they comply with the content required as per the appendix “Supplier declaration”.Example: The declaration of electronic components can be performed in accordance with IPC-1752. Family declarations in accordance with Umbrella Specs as defined by ZVEI are accepted.If Bosch customers make the use of certain declaration systems mandatory suppliers can be obligated to use them.④The appendix “Supplier declaration” must not substitute these systems that are made mandatory by theBosch customer. Declarations made in these systems need not be processed additionally via the supplier declaration.④If the supplier changes information in systems made mandatory by the Bosch customer, it is requiredthat the responsible Bosch purchasing authority be notified accordingly in writing.④The use of systems made mandatory by Bosch customers is valid regardless of whether substancesrated declarable according to N 2580-1 are or are not included.Example: Certain car makers demand the declaration in IMDS (International Material Data System, see Internet presence). Thus suppliers will have to declare in IMDS as well. Unless another agreement was made with Bosch, the Robert Bosch-IMDS-Account number 202 is to be used. The IMDS-Recommendations and the Bosch IMDS-Data input guideline are to be complied with.6.3Triggering the declarationDeclaration by the supplier is required when the below-listed triggering factors exist. After the triggering factor becomes known the declaration by the supplier to the responsible Bosch purchasing authority needs to be made in a timely manner.④It is a first-ever instance of sampling, of beginning of service or supplying.④Previous declarations were faulty.④Material and/or processes were changed.④There are new substance prohibitions and/or obligations to declare substances, and the suppliedmaterial is impacted.④There are new limit values and the supplied material is impacted.④The amount of the supplied material changes, which results in exceeding the stipulated amounttolerances.④There is an individual request.7Rating of substances7.1Prohibited substancesProhibited substances are marked “P” (Prohibition) in the appendix. They must not be included in the supplied material with a concentration above the limit value. The prohibition and/or the limit value may be related to certain applications.A value for the concentration need not be given if the concentration of the substance is below or equal to the limit value, in these cases confirmation of compliance with the regulation on the supplier declaration cover sheet will suffice.7.2Substances rated declarableSubstances rated declarable are marked “D” (Declaration) in the appendix. The concentration of the substance must be declared if it is above the limit value.7.3Definition limit valueIf no limit value is specified the value of 0,1 mass percent applies. Depending on the regulation the limit value refers to the supplied product, the material, the preparation, the mixture or the homogenous material.Definition of the homogenous material with the example of a screw: The screw consists e. g. of the metal body, a zinc coating, a passivated layer and a final coating.
