第二部分课堂讨论
本课程的课堂讨论分为4个专题，每个小组做1个演讲报告（presentation）；每个专题课内2个学时，课外4个学时。
每次讨论课程分三个阶段：第一阶段是小组成员的代表做presentation。第二阶段是其他学生向小组成员提问。第三阶段由老师引领学生作进一步补充、讲解与归纳。
第三次课堂讨论专题非线性系统有限时间控制（课内2学时，课外4学时）：这里主要讨论有限时间稳定，即受控系统在有限时间内就达到控制目标。借助齐次性技术设计有限时间控制器。讨论有限时间状态反馈和输出反馈控制。
第四次课堂讨论专题非线性系统自适应控制（课内2学时，课外4学时）：考虑参数严格反馈形式的自适应控制设计－反步设计（Back stepping）方法。

第三部分课外准备
修课学生共20人左右，分成4个组，每组4－6人，自行组合，并协商选定4个专题中的1个专题。每个小组成员在讲此专题之前主要是针对该专题所涉及的内容去查阅资料；每个小组推举一位同学做presentation，拓宽大家的视野,丰富大家对专题的认识。充分的准备就意味着在课堂上向每一位同学传达最丰富、最贴近生活、最能引起共鸣的学术信息。做presentation的同学负责制作发言用PPT，并组织开展针对课题的课堂讨论。而小组其他成员,要求至少回答presentation拟定的一个问题。所以,每个同学都有明确的任务,都必须充分准备。此外，小组每个成员必须在自己选定的专题范围内，结合自己收集的资料，就自己感兴趣的问题撰写课程论文。因此，本课程特别强调“问题导向”而非追求“知识体系导向”。
