Getting rid of dirt, in the opinion of most people, is a good thing. However, there is no thing fixed about attitudes to dirt.In the early 16th century, people thought that dirt on the skin was a means to block o ut disease, as medical opinion had it that washing off dirt with hot water could open up t he skin and let ills in. A particular danger was though to lie in public baths. By 1538, the French king had closed the bath houses in his kingdom. So did the king of England in 15 46. Thus began a long time when the rich and the poor in Europe lived with dirt in a frie ndly way. Henry IV, King of France, was famously dirty. Upon learning that a nobleman h ad taken a bath, the king ordered that, to avoid the attack of disease, the nobleman sho uld not go out.Though the belief in the merit (好处) of dirt was long-lived, dirt has no longer been re garded as a nice neighbor ever since the 18 century. Scientifically speaking, cleaning awa y dirt is good to health. Clean water supply and hand washing are practical means of pre venting disease. Yet, it seems that standards of cleanliness have moved beyond science since World War II. Advertisements repeatedly sell the idea: clothes need to be whiter th an white, cloths ever softer, surfaces to shine. Has the hate for dirt, however, gone too f ar?Attitudes to dirt still differ hugely nowadays. Many first-time parents nervously try to warn their children off touching dirt, which might be responsible for the spread of diseas e. On the contrary, Mary Ruebush, an American immunologist (免疫学家), encourages ch ildren to play in the dirt to build up a strong immune system. And the latter (后者) positi on is gaining some ground.(原创范文,仅供参考)One possible version:People have mixed opinions towards dirt on our skin. (要点 1 ) For a long time in histo ry, people of some European countries, such as France, believed that dirt protected peop le from getting ill. (要点 2 ) However, people began to change their attitudes to dirt abou t 200 years ago. People have been told that washing dirt off our body can keep us health y. (要点 3) However, some scientists believe that exposure to some dirt may help our im mune system. However, there is nothing fix ed about attitudes to dirt. Different people have different attitudes towards di rt. Different people have different attitudes towards dirt on the skin. 1“People have mixed opinions tow ards dirt on our skin.

She became more confident and independent as she navigated the challenges of living in a foreign country. Despite missing her family and friends back in China, Lily found comfort in the relationships she built in Australia. As the months went by, Lily's host family became like a second family to her. They supported her in her studies and encouraged her to pursue her interests. Lily began to feel grateful for the opportunity to experience life in Australia and learn about a different culture. One day, Lily received a letter from her parents in China, expressing how much they missed her and how proud they were of her for taking on this adventure. The letter reminded Lily of her roots and gave her the strength to continue her journey in Australia. As the end of her stay approached, Lily felt conflicted about leaving. She had grown accustomed to life in Australia and had developed strong bonds with the people she met. However, she also longed to return to her home country and reunite with her loved ones.In the end, Lily decided to return to China with a heavy heart but with a newfound appreciation for her experiences in Australia. She knew that she would always cherish the memories she made and the lessons she learned during her time abroad. And as she boarded the plane back home, Lily felt a sense of excitement for the next chapter in her life, knowing that she had grown in ways she never thought possible.篇2The year 2016 was a significant one for the students in Zhejiang Province, as they faced the challenge of taking the high-stakes college entrance exam, also known as the Gaokao.Among the various subjects tested, English was a particularly important subject for many students, as it is viewed as a key skill for success in today's globalized world. After months of preparation and hard work, the day of the exam finally arrived. Nervous but determined, students poured over the questions, carefully weighing their options and crafting their responses. For some, the multiple choice section was a breeze, while others struggled to choose the correct answer from the four options provided. As the exam progressed, students tackled the writing section, where they were asked to read a passage and write a response based on the information provided. Some were able to compose eloquent essays, showcasing their language skills and critical thinking abilities. Others found themselves grappling with the task, struggling to express their ideas clearly and coherently.Despite the challenges, students emerged from the exam room feeling a sense of accomplishment and relief. They knew that they had done their best, and that was all they could ask for.In the weeks that followed, students eagerly awaited their results, hoping for the best but preparing for the worst. Finally, the day arrived when the results were announced, and students anxiously logged on to check their scores. Some were overjoyed to see that they had exceeded their expectations, while others were disappointed to find that they had fallen short of their goals. But regardless of the outcome, all the students knew that they had given it their all, and that was something to be proud of.As they reflected on their Gaokao experience, the students realized that it was not just about the test itself, but about the journey they had taken to get there. The late nights spent studying, the sacrifices made in pursuit of their goals, the support of their teachers and families – all of these things had contributed to their success, and they were grateful for the opportunity to have taken part in such a challenging and rewarding experience.Looking ahead to the future, the students knew that the Gaokao was just the beginning of their academic journey. There were more challenges to come, more opportunities to seize, and more dreams to pursue. But no matter what lay ahead, they were confident that they had the skills, the determination, and the support to face whatever may come their way.And so, the students of Zhejiang Province closed the chapter on their Gaokao experience, with a sense of pride and gratitude for all they had achieved. They were ready to face the nextchapter of their lives, knowing that they had the knowledge and skills to succeed in whatever path they chose to take.篇3Title: A New Beginning - Continuing the Story of the Zhejiang High School Entrance Examination English Reading ComprehensionIt was a warm summer evening in Zhejiang, and the sun was setting over the horizon.

2016.10(读后续写)Para1: But no more helicopters came and it was getting dark again. Looking through the thick darkness, she felt a strong sense of regret of despair surging through her body. “If only I had not quarreled with Tom.” She thought to herself. However, she didn’t lose heart, keeping shouting in her mind, “Focus! Tom must have called for those helicopters. I have to guide him tomorrow.” She picked up her courage again and managed to find a shelter to stay from the bones-chilling night. Shortly after, she collapsed in fatigue and barely kept her eyes open, sweetly dreaming of seeing Tom.Para2: It was daybreak when Jane woke up.She ate some berries and then made her way along the stream, hoping to find a suitable place to guide the helicopter. Exhausted but full of hope, all of a sudden, she spotted a huge flat rock. She made a great effort to climb onto it and waited with patience. The minute the helicopter came into sight again, she waved the yellow blouse violently and yelled at the helicopter with full-strength. Much to her joy, it did capture the attention of the helicopter and the helicopter landed near the big rock slowly. Without hesitation, Jane jumped off the rock and rushed towards Tom like a flying arrow in floods of tears, hugging tightly in his arms, “please never leave me alone!”2017.06(读后续写)Para1: The car abruptly stopped in front of him. Paul rolled down the window and yelled, “Come on,get in the car.” Without any hesitation, Mac jumped off the bicycle and dashed into the back seat of the car. “What a narrow escape!” Mac sighed in a shaky voice. All of a sudden, Mac let out a scream of terror with eyes wide open. The wild wolf almost caught up. Paul swung his car around immediately and headed straight towards the fierce wolf at a fantastic speed. Mac was too terrified to open his eyes, with fingers firmly crossed praying for safety. Sadly, the violent collisions directly ended the wolf’s life. Para2: A few minutes later, the other two cyclists arrived. Seeing a breathless wolf lying in a pool of blood and Mac frozen with terror, they frowned in puzzlement. “Good to see you two again.”Mac came up to them in floods of tears, holding them tightly in arms. After figuring out what had happened moments ago, they gave Paul and Becky a tight hug and conveyed heartfelt thanks. When Mac gradually regained his calm, three friends waved goodbye to Paul and Becky until their car disappeared into a line of sight. And the three friends continued their bicycle trip to Alaska pleasantly.2017.11(读后续写)Para1: The next day we remembered the brand-new tent we had brought with us. Mom insisted that we must make full use of it since we had brought it. David and I cast a look at Dad, hoping he could turn down her crazy idea again. Much to our frustration, he agreed unexpectedly. Mom’s eyes twinkled with pleasure. She pulled over the car and searched for the tent instantly. All of a sudden, she let out a cry of anxiety. “Oh, gosh! We left the tent in the hotel!” she burst out crying like a child. Absolutely speechless as we were, we made up our mind to head back to the hotel. Luckily, we managed to retrieve the tent and even enjoyed a night in our tent for the first time. The next day, we continued our trip pleasantly.Para2: We drove through several states and saw lots of great sights along the way. The vast bright blue sky, the limitless fresh green grass, the blossoming wild charming flowers, the group of adorable sheep kept me spellbound. However, all the breathtaking and picturesque scenery faded away compared to my absent-mind and forgetful mom, it dawned on me that without all the unnecessary trouble caused by mom, the journey wouldn’t be such a fan tastic and amazing experience to treasure in my childhood. It was her who brought light to our plain life. I really love my Mum. 2018.06(读后续写)Para1: Suddenly a little rabbit jumped out in front of my horse.Startled by the white fluffy rabbit, the horse almost threw me off its back. I hurriedly tightened my grip and couldn't help letting out screams. But after we regained our calm, I was amused both by the thrill and the innocence of the little creature. Seeing it fleeing, cheerily, I turned to my dad, “Dad, can we follow it?” My dad nodded with a tolerant smile. Soon without consciousness, we were miles away up into the mountain and we lost track of the rabbit and of course, the track Uncle Paul had asked us to keep to.Para2: We had no idea where we were and it got dark. We had to get off the horses and tried to figure out the way back, but after many attempts, we still failed---we got lost. I grew a bit anxious, but with dad around, I felt all right. As darkness thickened, dad believed it was safer to stay on the spot and waited for help. It was then that we enjoyed a symphony of nature---the warm breeze ruffling through the trees, the insects buzzing and other animals contributing their unique sounds… This serenity ended as we heard shouts and torches came into our sight. At this time, I felt extremely grateful, to Paul and Tina, to this vacation with my dad, and to natur. 2018.11(概要写作)It’s a wise choice for you to pay a personal visit to the college before you apply for, especially the ones that close to you. (要点一和二)In order to avoid being regretful, you should at least visit the colleges you desire to attend. (要点三)If you are short of time and money, it will be helpful as well to search the online college fairsCollegeWeekLive where you can obtain necessary information. (要点四)2019.06(概要写作)(原文)Parents everywhere praise their kids. Jenn Berman, author of The A to Z Guide to Raising Happy and Confident Kids, says, "We've gone to the opposite extreme of a few decades ago when parents tended to be more strict." By giving kids a lot of praise, parents think they're building their children's confidence, when, in fact, it may be just the opposite. Too much praise can backfire and, when given in a way that's insincere, make kids afraid to try new things or take a risk for fear of not being able to stay on top where their parents' praise has put them.Still, don't go too far in the other direction. Not giving enough praise can be just as damaging as giving too much. Kids will feel like they're not good enough or that you don't care and, as a result, may see no point in trying hard for their accomplishments. So what is the right amount of praise? Experts say that the quality of praise is more important than the quantity. If praise is sincere and focused on the effort not the outcome, you can give it as often as your child does something that deserves a verbal reward." We should especially recognize our children's efforts to push themselves and work hard to achieve a goal, "says Donahue, author of Parenting Without Fear: Letting Go of Worry and Focusing on What Really Matters. "One thing to remember is that it's the process not the end product that matters."Your son may not be the best basketball player on his team. But if he's out there every day and playing hard, you should praise his effort regardless of whether his team wins or loses. Praising the effort and not the outcome can also mean recognizing your child when she has worked hard to clean the yard, cook dinner, or finish a book report. But whatever it is, praise should be given on a case-by-case basis and be proportionate(相称的) to the amount of effort your child has put into it.(参考范文)Nowadays parents tend to overpraise their children, which may have bad effects.(要点1)However, inadequate praise can be equally harmful. (要点2)Experts suggest parents pay attention to the quality of their praise and that they should praise the effort rather than the result. (要点3)Parents should also be aware that praise needs to be task-specific and match the amount of effort their children have made. For many high school students, giving an in-class presentation is an approach to their growth. Teachers will call up students, one by one, to present their work in front of the class, and, though it is often tense, many people say it has helped turn them into more confident public speakers. Some educators also credit it with building leadership skills and increasing students’ confidence and understanding of materials. But in the past few years, students have started calling for an end to in-class presentations as they show discrimination against those with anxiety. This week, a tweet posted by a 15-year-old high school student declaring “Stop forcing students to present in front of the class and give them a choice not to” received more than 130,000 retweets and nearly half a million likes. In fact, being a high schooler nowadays is more stressful than ever. Students are burdened with extra hours of homework. They stay up every night till 1:00 a.m. finishing homework on their third Red Bull. Anxiety is increasing at a faster rate than depression as the leading mental-health issue affecting teenagers, a recent study in the Journal of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics found. These students want more options. They say that every student has unique strengths and that they should be allowed to present their work in ways that speak to those strengths. This might mean presenting alone in front of the teacher, or choosing between several alternatives like producing a piece of art or an essay for private judgment instead of presenting their work orally.Educators have begun to take it seriously. They agree teachers should listen to students and hear their voices and respond to that. If students’ feelings are ignored, they might just walk away. However, not everyone is convinced. Some hold the view that pushing students out of comfort zones is a big part of what they should do as some students are deathly afraid to do it. Giving in-class presentation has been considered beneficial to students’ growth, especially confidence building.
I shouldn’t quarrel with Tom, I’m stay with him.(虚拟语气) 5、抄写文章中的原句。
It was daybreak when Jane woke up. She felt so
hungry and thirsty that to find some food. When she
suddenly found a lake, then a surprising sound she
5)直升机方面:谁开、什么时候开、噪音等,寻找的 picked her way carefully along the 2、语言
stream and shouted, “Tom? Help! Help!......” Then she climbed to a high place and flagged the yellow blouse

helicopters at all. Jane began to cried and thought more in her mind. After a long silence, Jane felt tired and began to sleep.
walk away and lost, I think maybe you will go to the
lake, so I stay at it all day.” Tom replyed and gave her
a tight hug. “Sorry, Jane. I will never to quarrel with
you.” “Me too.” She smiled and kissed.
But no more helicopters came and it was getting dark again. Frightened and tired, Jane climbed to a small hill in a hurry. As soon as she flagged the yellow blouse, a wild sense of exhaustion took hold of her. She sat down under a tree. Nevertheless, the night seemed cold without the woolen blouse and Jane couldn’t help trembling. Ultimately, she fell asleep with the hope to be found tomorrow.
It was daybreak when Jane woke up. Again, she heard the helicopter flying overhead. However, what was different from yesterday was that there’s someone calling her name. She quickly climbed to the place she flagged the blouse, and to her great joy, she saw Tom waving at her on the helicopter. The moment when Tom jumped down and hugged her firmly in arms, tears fell out of control. It dawned upon Jane that even the quarrel was unpleasant, the deep love they gave each other would never disappear. That is to say, love will last forever in spite of difficulties and pain.
heard. “Jane? Oh, thanks to god! Hey, my love!” “Tom?
Oh, tell me it’s true!” Jane burst into tears and dashed
to Tom, “Tom, why are you here?” “Jane, when you
But no more helicopters came and it was getting 1、
She is so tired and can’t walked.(时态)
