《新标准》英语采用发现式语法学习法:呈现---提问---发现---总结, 培养学生自主学习的能力。直接引语和间接引语在JEFC教材中初中阶段并没有单独作为一个独立的语法体系加以呈现，是高中要求掌握的一个重点，现在初二阶段就提出来，不管是老师还是学生都感觉到难度较大。这需要老师很好地设计课堂教学活动。 本模块以娱乐为话题，从学生兴趣的话题切入，语言材料包括谈论访问演出、影片介绍等。课文各侧重娱乐的不同方面，材料真实、趣味性强，能引起学生浓厚的兴趣。通过谈论自己所喜爱的电影、音乐、电视节目等以及名星，在与他人分享的过程中转述他人的话，从而掌握从直接引语向间接引语转变的表达方法及注意点。
Unit 2标题是“He said it was on at the student cinema.” 是阅读课型,课文介绍的是一部美国电影《加勒比海盗》。本课在前一单元听说活动的基础上进行阅读活动,并为后一单元语言的综合运用打下了基础。课文呈现有关这部影片介绍和评论的语言结构与词汇。教师可以以教材为依托，培养学生运用各种阅读方法获取关于影片的信息，捕捉段意大意及细节,把握文章结构的能力，掌握介绍和评论影片的文章的写作方法。
2、 学情分析：
1. 知识基础：由于这一届八年级在七年级 教材中已涉及到电影方面的内容，但毕竟对电影内容的转述难度较大，相当一部分学生缺少丰富的语言基础和信息积累，所以对某些任务的完成有一定的难度。
2. 思维能力：有较强的记忆力和模仿能力， 有待培养知识的扩展运用能力。
3. 认知心理：有较强的求知欲和表现欲，部分学生存在不自信，羞于表现等思想顾虑。

在六年级学段，大部分学生对英语的学习积极性浓厚，基础知识扎实，学习方法得当，综合运用能力的能力较强；有少部分学生还是没有找到合适的方法，学英语仍旧吃力，针对此种情况，教师应充满耐心，精心备课，在教学中多鼓励他们，帮助他们建立学好英语的自信心。
设计理念
在六年级下学期这一阶段，教学内容主要是复习巩固以前学过的内容和继续扩展学习新的内容。本册的主线是继续和Daming一起了解美国，了解Daming回到中国之后为小学毕业、升入中学学习做的准备。这一学段学生对语言的综合运用能力需要进一步提高，为此，我们在课堂上应尽可能多地运用我们以前学习过的语言，坚持听说训练，同时进行相应的读写训练。
