本课是外研社小学英语（三年级起点）六年级下册第六模块第二单元。本课的故事与学生即将要学习的第七模块内容共同构成“太空之旅”系列英语运用专题，通过介绍我国第一艘载人航天飞船神舟五号，引导学生学会运用一般过去式，和句型In…,…flew
into…, …spent about… It took…等来复述神舟五号的基本信息或简单谈论其他航天飞船的基本信息。
二、学情分析
在六年级下学期这一阶段，大部分学生的基础知识扎实，对一般过去时态非常熟悉，学习方法较得当，综合运用能力相对三四年级来说提高不少，已经具有一定的阅读理解能力、听说能力及小组合作能力。
三、教学目标
1. 学生能听懂，会说，会写单词/短语：flew, model, taikonaut, the national flag, seed等。
2. 能在图片和问题的提示下理解文本内容，并在思维导图的帮助下简单复述课文。。
3. 能运用所学句型，并以一般过去式形式简单谈论一艘航天飞船的基本信息。
