You can use phrase like As is presented/ as is observed / in general / in common etc. to start this part.One thing that stands out in this graph is that one type of fast food fell over the period, whilst the other two increased, so this would be a good overview.Here is an example:Overall, the consumption of fish and chips declined over the period, whereas the amount of pizza and hamburgers that were eaten increased.This covers the main changes that took place over the whole period.You may sometimes see this overview as a conclusion. It does not matter if you put it in the conclusion or the introduction when you do an IELTS writing task 1, but you should provide an overview in one of these places.2.5.3 Detailed descriptionThe Detailed description part comes after the introduction and general trend and should be written in the second paragraph. When you give the detail in your body paragraphs in your IELTS writing task 1, you must make reference to the data.The key to organizing your body paragraphs for an IELTS writing task 1 is to group data together where there are patterns.To do this you need to identify any similarities and differences.Look at the graph –what things are similar and what things are different?As we have already identified in the overview, the consumption of fish and chips declined over theperiod, whereas the amount of pizza and hamburgers that were eaten increased.So it is clear that pizza and hamburgers were following a similar pattern, but fish and chips were different. On this basis, you can use these as your ‘groups’, and focus one paragraph on fish and chip and the other one on pizza and hamburgers.Here is an example of the first paragraph:I n 1975, the most popular fast food with Australian teenagers was fish and chips, being eaten 100 times a year. This was far higher than Pizza and hamburgers, which were consumed approximately 5 times a year. However, apart from a brief rise again from 1980 to 1985, the consumption of fish and chips gradually declined over the 25 year timescale to finish at just under 40.As you can see, the focus is on fish and chips. This does not mean you should not mention the other two foods, as you should still make comparisons of the data as the questions asks.The second body then focuses on the other foods:In sharp contrast to this, teenagers ate the other two fast foods at much higher levels. Pizza consumption increased gradually until it overtook the consumption of fish and chips in 1990. It then levelled off from 1995 to 2000. The biggest rise was seen in hamburgers as the occasions they were eaten increased sharply throughout the 1970’s and 1980’s, exceeding that of fish and chips in 1985. 错误一：语言绝对化 人们在使用语言描述事物变化时，应尽可能 避免语言过于绝对化，尤其是在使用第二语 言进行正式的书面表述时，更应该注意该语 言中非绝对化表达方式的学习，这样才能尽 显文章内容的客观性，这是绝大多数中国考 生在面对雅思写作时所忽视的 。
错误四：文章没有分段或分段不充分 雅思作文应按照论文的写作格式分段，即有 开头段，结尾段和由两到三段构成的主体段 落。不论是四段式还是五段式，考生只要进 行合理的分段，就能满足考试在逻辑性方面 的要求。

No.3 作文还要加标题 英语考试有一个国际惯例(common practice)：写作文时不需要加标题，直接写 正文就行。加标题属于浪费感情，浪费表情。 而且，这个标题可能太大，一篇250字的文 章不能承担标题之重;这个标题可能太小， 只照顾到你这篇文章的一小部分;这个标题 可能加错了，意思与文章相反，反而会误导 考官。总之，不需要加任何标题。

为解决该问题，一些表达委婉语气的用语和 句式，考生可以尝试使用，如：may, might, would, could, largely, possibly, probably, be likely (unlikely) to, be inclined to, tend to, to a large (some) extent, there is a higher probability/possibility that…等。

就该题而言，很多考生将意思是“收费”的 charged一词理解为“控制”，而该词是我 们在中学阶段就已经学习过的。这就很容易 导致作文跑题，而跑题的作文分数为5分。 避免该问题，首先，在积累词汇阶段，考生 应连同其同义词准确记忆;其次，由于每年 的考题重复率相对较高，所以，如果时间允 许，考生可以在练习阶段把近几年题目通读 一遍，准确理解题目内容。
