高考英语 完形填空阅读理解小练_2

落堕市安心阳光实验学校2015高考英语(四月)完形填空、阅读理解小练(2)答案【2015高考复习】阅读理解Does stress cause gray hair? Many people believe that tension and stress can cause your hair to lose its color. In fact,it is an_old_wives’_tale that being upset all the time can result in premature graying. Here is a closer look at this situation and why some believe that this old wives’ tale could be true.As one ages, the hairs on the head also age.In fact, just about everything on the human body begins to show signs of wear and tear after a while. The joints wear and become stiff and skin wears and becomes wrinkled.Hairs on the head grow and eventually die. They are replaced, but in the process something else happens. When new hairs are replaced, the color or pigment (色素) is also added to them. However,as one ages, this pigment becomes less and less available. At first, hairs will have a limited amount of pigment and they will appear to be grayish in color. In time, they will lose all of their pigment and will be white. Many things are known to cause graying, and genetics is a very powerful factor. If one of your parents turns gray at an early age, there is a good chance that you will too. Some people begin the graying process in high school, while others may be over the age of forty.Constant worry and tension can have many harmful effects on the human body.It is a known fact that stressful times can cause one to suffer hair loss.It would make sense that if it can cause these problems, perhaps it also may contribute to graying. However, there is no sound evidence to support this.On the other hand, many medical professionals believe that there may be a link between graying and a constant state of anxiety or tension.Does stress cause gray hair? There is no scientific evidence to support the theory, but it is best to avoid stressful situations.【语篇解读】压力会导致头发变白吗?许多人相信情况是这样的。

语篇专题练习(二)一、阅读理解A(中考模拟)When I was a child I never said, "When I grow up, I want to be a CEO," but here I am. When I look back on my career, I realize the road to becoming a CEO isn't a straight, clear path. In fact, no two paths are the same. But whether you want to be a boss one day or not, there's a lot to learn from how leaders rise to the top of successful companies. As this series of stories shows, the paths to becoming a CEO may be different, but the people in that position(位置) share the qualities of commitment(义务), work ethic(道德)and a strong desire for building something new. And every CEO take risks along the way—putting your life savings on the line to start a software company or leaving a big business to be one of the first employees at a startup.I grew up in Minnesota, and learned how to be an entrepreneur(企业家)from my father, who has run a small business for almost 30 years. I went to Georgetown University and tried a lot of business activities in college with success. And I always had a dream job pattern(模式): to walk to work, work for myself and build something for consumers(顾客).I'm only 29, so it's been a quick ride to CEO. Out of college, I worked for AOL as a product manager, then moved to Revolution Health and ran the consumer product team. In mid-2007 I left Revolution Health and started LivingSocial with several other workmates, where I became a CEO.Career advice: Don't figure out where you want to work, or even what industry you'd like to work at. Figure out what makes you do so. What gives you a really big rush? Answer why you like things, not what you like doing. . . and then apply it to your work life. Also, just because you're graduating, don't stop learning. Read more books than you did in college. If you do, and they're not, you're really well-positioned to succeed in whatever you do.1. The girl liked feeling rain, so the boy was always holding the umbrella when it rained and most part of the umbrella was over the girl. Rain showered the boy every time but he said nothing except looked at the girl's face, which was full of silent satisfaction. He felt very happy, so did the girl. One day they went out for a walk. They were walking hand in hand passing a building which was under construction. The girl jumped with excitement and said something. The boy seldom talked only feeling excited as she felt looking at her silently. When the girl was talking, a not big or small stone fell down from the building toward the girl's head! At that moment the boy took the girl in his arms so suddenly and so strongly that the girl let out a scream. He meant to protect the girl with his body. But the boy turned over to make his own body downward before they dropped on the ground. As a result, only the girl's hand was smashed by the stone and fractured. The girl came back to earth and cried with pain, tears weeping up. She thought the saying that “The husband and the wife are birds in the same forest essentially, but when serious tragedy comes, they will fly separately” was really not wrong! With this, she struggled and stood up from the boy's body keeping from the pains and slowly ran away without glancing at the boy.At the time, the boy was calling the girl's name in a weak voice, his lips were already white. He took out his mobile phone and dialed the girl's number, but the girl didn't answer. He dialed again she didn't answer again. For several times, he gave up. When she hurried to the hospital, the doctor had already declared his death; the cause of his death was that his lung had lost too much blood. It was because, when the boy meant to protect the girl with his body he found that there was a steel stick under them, so he turned over to make it inset(=put into) his own body. The boy's mother passed the boy's mobile phone on to the girl. The girl read the message that hadn't been sent: “Honey, I'm sorry, I still couldn't protect you and made you wound…”Upon this, the girl couldn't help crying…Please treasure the one you love and believe his or her LOVE!51. Has a connection been established? The latest word on this continuing concern comes from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), which has concluded that working regularly with hair dyes in hair salons and barbershops probably increases the risk of cancer and that long term employment in these establishments is "probably likely to cause cancer to humans."However, the IARC, a World Health Organization group, reported that there is not enough evidence to conclude that occasional personal use of hair coloring raises the risk of cancer. This new report, published in the April, 2008, issue of Lancet Oncology, is the first scientific word on the subject since 2005, when Spanish researchers reported that their review of 79 studies from 11 countries produced no strong evidence of a link between hair dye and cancer risk. The only connection the Spanish team observed was the possibility of a slight increase in the risks of leukemia(白血病)and multiple myeloma(多发性骨髓瘤), but they concluded that the causal effect was too weak to be a major concern.Earlier, researchers at Yale University found that long-term use of dark hair dye by women who began coloring their hair before 1980 may increase the risk of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (非霍奇金淋巴瘤). No such risk was seen among women who began dyeing their hair after 1980. Here, the difference may be due to the removing of contaminated ingredients used in the older products that are known carcinogens. ( 致癌物) The Yale study was published in the Jan. 15, 2004, issue of the American Journal of Epidemiology. In general, I discourage use of hair dyes containing man-made coloring agents, which to my mind are as suspect in cosmetic(化妆品的)products as they are in food. Hair dyes applied to the head are absorbed through the head skin, where there's a very rich blood supply that may carry them throughout the body. I'm sure that the new IARC report won't be the last word on this subject. I'll keep you informed of developments.63. Sometimes the degree to which we are willing to challenge our belief systems determines the success of our inner economy. For example, imagine that your family of origin had a belief that musical talent was not something they possessed. As a member of that group, you would likely inherit that same belief about yourself. As a result, even if you had a great desire to create music, you might be hesitant to really get behind yourself, fearing that your investment (投资)would not pay off. Even if you had the courage to follow your passion, your inner belief that you are not inherently talented would probably be a major obstacle(障碍) to investing your energy in your dream. On the other hand, if you found a way to release that negative belief, a great flood of energy would pour forth, greatly increasing the likelihood of your success. How much energy we are willing to invest in the various ideas, dreams, and visions we carry within is like the money people are, or are not, willing to invest in the various products available for trade on the stock market. And in both cases, belief plays a key role in determining how willing we are to get behind something. One way to open up the possibility for greater success in our inner economies is to understand that belief is not the reliable guide we sometimes think. There are other more reliable things of success that we can put our faith in, such as passion, feeling, and sense. Some of the most successful investors in the stock market are the ones that go against the grain, trusting their sense over the common opinion held by common people about what will work.In the same way, we can learn to trust our heart’s desires and our sense to guide us, questi oning any beliefs that stand in the way of our ability to fully invest in ourselves. As we take out energy from limiting ideas about what is possible, we free up the resources that have the power to make our inner economy prosper.67.
