She told me she wouldn?蒺t leave until you came back.
He has lost the key. (现在没有了)He lost the key. (现在可能找到了,也可能没找到)二、过去进行时过去进行时的构成是“was / were + V-ing形式”。
过去进行时主要用于:1. 表示过去某个时刻正在进行的动作。
2. 表示过去某个阶段正在进行的动作。
3. 一些表示位置移动的动词,如come, go, leave, stay, start, take, arrive, move, close等也可以用过去进行时表示过去将来的动作。
如:The naughty boy was making trouble all the time.
Module 2 A Job Worth Doing What is the

What is the most suitable job for a MBA student.let me say, this topic is not intended to cover all, but limited to the financial field.the students with a MBA degree from top 10 business schools in us, will find it easy to get a well paid job in Newyork. every year, the human resource managers in top investing banks, top commercial banks, mutual funds, investing company and insurance company get huge amounts of resumes and applications from everywhere, but what they are interesting in is limited to those from top busniess schools, especially top10 business schools. the students graduating from havard, mit, stanford, berkeley and so forth will usually be booked in advance before the formal job hunting begins, and when they start working, normally the salaries could be 150000 dollars or so, and it also depends on individuals and reputation of business schools, some higher, some lower, but the basic level is no less than 150000 ,which is also the average level. for these from low rated business schools, the starting salaries will be less than above, if you work in a place rather than Newyork, the salaries will be far less.basically, the first choice for most graduating students is to work at investing bank in Newyork since the best investing banks such as morgan stanley, goldman, merrill lynch, lehman brothers, soloman brothers and jp morgan are mainly concentrated in Newyork. as we said above, according to 20/80 rules that the 20% investing banks get 80% market shares, thus, the best 20 investing banks get 80% profits, market shares and resources while the rest is left with 20%. you might say it is unfair, but it is the reality, in fact, currently, you could see an interesting phenomena that in spite of the fact that the dealing amounts of these top inversting banks are far less than what it is in small bank in respect of underwriting bonds, stocks and others, the profits the former get are far more than ther latter, so this lead to a situation that although best investing banks get involved in limited dealings, nevertheless, whether in biding amounts, the minimun amounts for new customers and the percentage of every dealing, the best inversting banks will be able to earn as much as they wish. accordingly, it directly lead to the fact that the employees working in these top investing banks could be highly paid than those in small investing bank. in addition, the degree of salaries is also depending on your working experiences, for instance, if you are a freshman, in the first couple of years, what you have got may be a small portion of department managers, and this contrast is more obvious when it comes to the senior manager. the higher position you are at, the more you will be paid. for instance, if you works at soloman brothers, the starting salariy is 150000 or so if you are from top business school, while the senior partners of the same firm will be able to get more than 1000000 on the year basis, which may not include extra bonus.if you are unable to work in these top investing banks, the second choice may beinsurance company or mutual funds usually administered by one or more than one investing companies. in constrast with the case in investing bank, although the salaries might be not as high as that, yet, the risks involved are far less than those banks as well. it reflect a fact that the risks are correlated with earnings, which is also a famous rule in the investing theory. working in these firms, you could be able to get stable proceeds in a long term because the structure of balance sheet for insurance comany is also the case in which there are always long term debts shown in the right side while short term assets being shown in the left side, so there is nearly no liquid risk involved. thus, for a particular year, the earnings or profits are nearly fixed in a certain level.if you are too unlucky to find jobs from above, the department of commercial banks or credit unions may be the best choices for you. although the salaries you got here are not satisfactory compared with investing banks and mutual funds, yet, at least no less than 100000 dollars could be guaranteed. for those graduating from small business schools, working as a officer in the department of commercial banks or credit unions might be the most favourite jobs they are able to get as regards their capacities.but above all, as i said repeatly in the previous section, the firm where you are working is not the most imporatant factor deciding your future, that means, even you are working in a small firm, with your efforts made, with your energy and time you devote, it is extremely possible that after several years, you will get promoted quicky, and when you are a senior manager, what you could get in terms of salaries and bonus will be equal to, or more than that in best investing banks. conversly, although you have a high starting point, working at a big firm, if you are lazy, if you are not excellent enough, after seveal yeas, your situation may be not better than those managers from small firms, thus, your own option is very very important. which is your choice, which is your favorite job, what is the most suitable job for you, what is your potential, all these factors decide your future, you should make your decisions carefully in day one before it is too late.。

International Student Job Search in Canada
I attended a worksh op special for international student job search several days ago, and only one word is able to express my feeling--depressed. The policies are as follows:
1. International s tudents can apply for a work permit (visa) if they can get a job offer within 90 days after gradua tion. The graduation date is the day your transcript is av ailable on the website. For example, a student will graduate by December. His or her transcript will be available on website in the early next Janu ary. So he or she has to succeed in obtaining a job offer before April in order to apply for a work permit.
2. A work permitIt application processing ta kes 2 months. "You must wait for the Work Permit to be issued before you start working." In the previous inst ance, if the student gets a job offer in March, properly speaking, i f the student is lucky enough to get a job offer in March, he or she cannot begin to work until June.
3. The employment must be related to the program you studied. The offer letter must describe the connection between the job and your study field. For me, I am studying political science, so I must find a job related to political science. FT!
4. The valid time of a work permit is: one year for workin g in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal; two years for working in other places. When the permit is expired, there are two ways to extend job offer and work permit: one is immigration; the other is the company requires exception from the government, and must prove that no Canadians can do this job. FT again!
That i s all. Job search is a full-time job. Good luck!
