Now I will give you a brief introduction of Lijiang. The Ancient town of Lijiang ，
which has a history of almost a thousand years. The scenes are unique and unconventional [„ʌnkən‟venʃənəl] a 1 .不依惯例的;不符合习俗的. It is one of the besthistorical, cultural cities at the state level in China.(丽江古城有近千年的历史，风景独特， 风情独具，是国家级历史文化名城。) It is located in Lijing Prefecture in the
Northwest of Yunnan province. The population of Lijiang Prefecture is over 1 million involving [in'vɔlv] vt 1 .使卷入,连累21 nationalities, for example, the Naxi, Yi, Lisu, Pumi,etc. And later you will see the houses of Naxi people in the ancient town. Lijiang Prefecture ( /„prifekfa/ n 任期 ：管区；县) is the major developing tourist area of Yunnan Province. It contains beautiful natural scense, unique minority amorous [„æmərəs] 1色情的 .2 .恋爱的;传情的;多情的 feelings, age-old minority cultures, and rich tourist resources. The scenic spots are mainly scattered [„skætəd] a 1 .散乱的;散布的 in Lijiang County and Ninglang County. We can conclude them into:” two mountains, one town, one lake, one river, one culture and one folk custom.”. Two mountains refer to Yulong Snow Mountains and Laojun Mountains, one town is Dayan Town, Dayan Town is also a unique city
The ancient town of Lijiang is a most wonderful sight. As you wake in the morning it is all quiet bar the chatter of two Naxi women, or perhaps it‟s the morning market I can hear coming to life? One folk custom refers to the Moso people‟s custom. So you see Lijiang, with its rich resources in plants and animals, the natural beauties and the amazing minority folk customs, attracts more and more tourists from home and abroad. As you make it past the entrance of Lijiang‟s old town, you immediately get an overwhelming [„əuvə‟hwelmiŋ] a 1.压倒的;势不可挡的feeling of historical significance [sig„nifikəns] n 1重要性, 重要意义, as your eyes absorb the 1,000 year-old cobbled ['kɔbld] a 1 .铺有大卵石的 streets and the ancient wooden and stone houses. 走进丽 江古城，映入眼帘的是有千年历史的鹅卵石街道和古老的木制或石头结构的房子，这时 你会感觉到这里深厚的历史底蕴。 In the center of the ancient town, here is the Sifang Street. It is a place for country fair trades. Since ancient times, Sifang Street has been a collecting and distributing center of all kinds of products with travelers and traders going and coming everywhere. On a market day people of different minorities in their unique costumes come here to do business and make the place crowed and noisy. If you spend a whole day here, you can experience the poetic changes here. One culture is Dongba Culture The Naxi also created a written language over 1,000 years ago using an extraordinary system of pictographs ['piktə,grɑ:f] . N1 .象形文字;用象形文字写的文献, or Naxi hieroglyphics [haiərəu'glifiks] n. 1. 象形文字. The most famous Naxi text is the Dongba classic. The Creation and ancient copies of it and other texts can still be found in Lijiang. There are also some copies in the archives of United States universities. Dongba were Naxi shamans who were the caretakers ['kɛə,teikə] n 。 1 .照顾者,管理人of the written language and mediators [„mi:dieitə] n. 1. 调停者 2. 传递者3. 中介物 between the Naxi themselves and the spirit world.
