B(2018·合肥高三调研性检测)Social networks are a big part of nearlyevery teenager’s life in this day and age. Many teens have QQ, WeChat, orWeibo but little do a lot of teens know that they can be held responsible foreverything they post for the rest of their lives. Everything you post online ispart of a digital footprint that can always be traced(追踪) back to you. Thatincludes every post, even every like, comment, favorite and forward that you have ever committed. All pictures you’ve posted or will post have been stored in a digital database, and it is the companies’right to keep all of these documents that you believe to have been deleted or hidden. With every post comes a consequence; whether it is good or bad, what you post could be seen by anyone. That is why you have to be very careful of what you decide to post or comment. If you think you are safe from Servite finding out about one funny comment you made six months ago on a meaningless picture, you are probably wrong. Recently, a senior, Aaron, at Servite learned this lesson the hard way this year. He wrote a series of ugly comments towards Connelly girls on a web page, ignoring potential consequences. This student, however, did have to face consequences from Servite as he was removed from all of his leadership roles in the school. Surprisingly enough, he fully agreed with his punishment handed down by the administration and fully understood why he was given such severe discipline(处罚). “When you agree to come to Servite, you are agreeing to defend what Servite stands for,”the young man said. “That continues from 8 a.m.to 2 p.m. It’s at all times.”So, next time you’re about to post something you think could be received as offensive or inappropriate, think twice, or don’t press the “Send”.【解题导语】本文是一篇议论文。

Ⅰ阅读理解A(2018·宁波高三调研)For the growing number of Chinese heading west to work and study, there’s plenty they find surprising. Upon arrival in the West, many Chinese find they have to firstly put on the brakes. Li Feng, raised in northern China and now based in England, agrees.“The only thing Chinese people would be shocked by in Britain is how long it takes to do things,”he says.“For instance, in China if you want to open a bank account, you don’t wait and you just do it at the counter.”Outofhours and weekend work is standard in China, but in Britain, the weekend is for family and friends.Chen Lei, who left his homeland 12 years ago and is now a lawyer in Belgium says office politics are simpler in Europe, partly because the hierarchy(等级制度) is less rigid than in China, where the boss really is the boss and social class in the office is very obvious and important. As a result, staff in a Chinese company think very carefully about how to present their views and ideas. Employees in the West can share their opinions more freely. In China you should have the wisdom to say something in an appropriate way. But in Europe you can just say what you want. The newest Chinese arrivals have a very different view to previous generations, according to Sharon Jin, who moved to the U.S. 20 years ago and is now an American citizen. “Almost 100% of people of my generation who came to the States want to get a green card,”she says. “But today younger Chinese plan to work for 10 years here and then return to China to buy a house or look after their parents.” While a record number of 523,700 students left China to study elsewhere in 2015, roughly 70%-80% of students abroad have been returning in recent years because of the attractive job market at home, according to the Chinese Ministry of Education (CME).【解题导语】以前,中国人去国外都想获得绿卡,而现在他们计划在国外工作十年以后,再回来买房或照顾父母。

For many years I emphasized its harmlessness. When concerned that parents expressed doubt about letting their children have toy guns, because they didn’t want to encourage them in the slightest degree to become criminals, I would explain how little connection there was.In the course of growing up, children have a natural tendency to bring their aggressiveness more and more under control if their parents encourage this.Oneto twoyearolds, when they are angry with another child, may bite the child’s arm without hesitation. But by 3 or 4 they have already learned that aggression is not right. However, they may pretend to shoot their mother or father, but smiling to assure themthat the gun and the aggressive behaviour aren’t to be taken seriously. In the 6- to 12-year-old period, children will play an earnest game of war, but it has lots of rules. There may be arguments, but real fights are relatively rare.At this age children don’t shoot at their mother or father, even in fun. It’s not that the parents have turned stricter; the children’s own conscience has.In adolescence aggressive feelings become much stronger, but well broughtup children can turn them into athletics and other competition or into kidding their friends. In other words, I’d explain that playing at war is a natural step in the disciplining of the aggression of young children; that a cautious parent doesn’t really need to worry about producing a criminal. But nowadays I’d give parents much more encouragement to guide their child away from violence.A number of incidents have convinced me of the importance of this. One of the first things that made me change my mind, several years ago, was an observation that an experienced nursery school teacher told me about. Her children were hitting each other much more than previously, without reason. When she talked to them, they would protest, “But that’s what the Three Stooges do.”(This was a children’s TV program full of violence which immediately became very popular.)What further shocked me into reconsidering my view was the assassination(暗杀) of the former President, and the fact that some schoolchildren cheered about this.(I didn’t so much blame the children as I blamed the kind of parents who will say about a president they dislike, “I’d shoot him if I got the chance!” )These incidents made me think of other evidences that Americans often tolerate lawlessness and violence. We were hard on the Indians and the later waves of immigrants. At times we denied justice to groups with different religions or political views. And now a great percentage of our adult as well as our child population has been endlessly fascinated with dramas of Western violence and with cruel crime stories, in movies and on television. This d oesn’t necessarily mean that we Americans on the average have more aggressiveness inside us than the people of other nations.I think rather that the aggressiveness we have is less controlled, from childhood on.To me it seems very clear that in order to have a more stable and civilized national life we must bring up the next generation of Americans with a greater respect for law and for other people’s rights than in the past. There are many ways in which we could and should teach these attitudes. One simple opportunity we could seize in the first half of childhood is to show our disapproval of lawlessness and violence in television programs and in children’s gun play.I also believe that the survival of the world now depends on a much greater awareness of the need to avoid war and to actively seek peaceful agreements. There are enough nuclear arms to completely destroy all civilizations. This terrifying situation demands a much greater stability and self-control on the part of national leaders and citizens than they have ever shown in the past.Weowe it to our children to prepare them deliberately for this awesome responsibility.【解题导语】本文是一篇议论文. 主要讨论了孩子们该不该玩玩具枪,并规劝人们尊重孩子、尊重法律,减少孩子的暴力性.3.The underlined word “this”in Paragraph 1 refers to________.A.controlling their arm. The reasons can date back to a serious medical procedure.“When I was 14,I had a chest operation,”recalls Harrison, who is now aged 80.“My father said I had received 13 units of blood and my life had been saved by unknown people. So I said when I’m old enough,I’ll become a blood donor.”Soon after Harrison became a donor, doctors called him in. His blood, they said, could be the answer to a deadly problem.“In Australia,up until about 1967,there were about thousands of babies dying each year because of the rhesus disease(恒河猴溶血病),”explains Jemma Falkenmire,of the Australian Red Cross Blood Service.Harrison was discovered to have an unusual antibody(抗体) in his blood and in the 1960s he worked with doctors to use the antibodies to develop an injection(注射)called Anti-D which can prevent this disease.Harrison’s blood is precious. Every batch of Anti-D that has ever been made in Australia has come from Harr ison’s blood. He and Anti-D are credited with saving the lives of more than 2 million babies, according to the Australian Red Cross Blood Service:That’s about 2 million lives saved by one man’s blood.Harrison is considered a national hero, and has won numerous awards. He has now donated his plasma more than 1,000 times, but no matter how many times he’s given blood there’s one thing that will never change:“I look at the ceiling or the nurses, maybe talk to them a bit, but never once have I watched the needle go in my arm. Ⅰ阅读理解A(2018·太原模拟)Opera is an art form that celebrates the human voice. No other art form creates excitement and moves the heart in the way that opera does, especially when performed by a great singer. Opera is an important part of the Western classical music tradition. It uses music, words, and actions to bring a dramatic story to life. Opera started in Italy at the end of the 16th century and later became popular throughout Europe. Over the years, it has responded to various musicals. In recent decades, much wider audiences have been introduced to opera through modern recording technology. Some singers have become celebrities thanks to performing on radio, on TV, and in the cinema. However, in recent years, opera has been facing serious challenges. One current challenge to opera is economics. The shortage of money raises the broader question of how much should be paid to support opera singers and other artists. Society seems to accept the large salaries paid to business managers and the multi-million-dollar contracts given to sports athletes. But what about opera singers? Somehow, people have the idea that artists can be creative only if they suffer in poverty, but this is unrealistic. If artists, including opera singers, lack the support they need, valuable talent is wasted. Not only the shortage of money, but also the way money is managed in the opera world has led to hardships. Principal singers are generally paid performance fees once they complete a show. They typically receive nothing during the many weeks of rehearsal(排练) before a show starts.Another problem faced by opera is how to meet the demands of audiences who are influenced by popular entertainment. Pop singers are often judged as much on the basis of how they look as how they sound. These demands may be unrealistic and possibly harmful. Opera singers simply cannot make a sound big enough to fill a large theater or concert hall without a microphone if their body weight is too low. Emphasizing physical appearance over singing ability may cause audiences to miss out on the human voice at its best. There are no easy solutions to opera’s problems and there are many different opinions about the value of opera. However, every year many young people register for music courses with hopes and dreams of developing their talent in this special art form. The fact that opera has survived many obstacles and continues to attract the rising generation shows that it remains a respectable art form full of value.【解题导语】本文主要讨论了歌剧所面临的挑战和困难。

Primary school children will be taught “Shanghai maths”as British schools copy Chinese teaching methods to improve standards. So far 140 teachers have been trained in the approach.Currently, classes are often divided into groups based on ability. Critics blame the British teaching styles that focused on applying maths to real-life situations in an effort to make the subject more interesting. They say this has led to confusion and stopped children learning the basics. Under the Government’s new plans, children as young as five will have drills to practisesums and exercises, and must master each concept before moving to the next.Nick Gibb, the school’s minister, said that training will be provided for 8,000 primary schools—half the c ountry’s total—to switch to the Shanghai “mastery” approach.“We are seeing a renaissance(复兴) in maths teaching in this country, with good ideas from around the world helping to cheer up our classrooms,”he said.【解题导语】本文是一则新闻报道.英国半数小学课堂将推行中国传统的数学教学模式来提高孩子们的数学计算能力,以防止英国青少年在数学上落后于亚洲同龄人. 12.The underlined words “their Asian counterparts”in Paragraph 1 refer to____________.A.the weak pupils in AsiaB.the young students in AsiaC.the primary schools in AsiaD.the maths teachers in AsiaB解析:词义猜测题. B.13.Which of the following is an approach of “Shanghai maths”?A.Children can choose to learn what interests them.B.Children are given different work based on their ability.C.Children are taught in groups rather than as an entire class.D.Children are required to master a concept before they progress.D解析:细节理解题.根据第四段最后一句中的...and must master each concept before moving to the next.可知,“上海数学”要求孩子们在学习更深一层的知识之前一定要掌握每一个概念.故选D.14.Recently, some British maths teachers have been trained to____________.A.increase the difficulty levelB.conduct “child-centred” classesC.guide students to repeat and drillD.meet the needs of smart studentsC解析:推理判断题.根据第三段第一句中的The school will give up “child-centred”styles and instead return to repetition, drills and “chalk and talk”whole-class learning.并结合第三段最后一句可推知,一些英国数学老师接受培训是为了指导学生重复、训练.故选C. 15.What is Nick Gibb’s attitude toward the new teaching style?A.Supportive.
