American Dream mains "Life should be better, richer and fuller, with opportunity for each one", Nowadays, people are looking toward a new American Dream with less focus on financial gain and more emphasis on living a simple, fulfilling life. I don't know what's the Chinese Dream in my impression .It is rich and powerful or rising? I think it is a very difficult questions but I believe everyone has a dream.“More and better, endless……”at first representative of this simple idea of American Dream .Later in the Declaration of Independence will be turned into a solemn statement :All men are created equal, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness "natural rights". “If we can dream it, we can go it.” Aluminum doors on the Florida space center, the Americans planted under this sentence. I seem to understand the differences of Chinese and Americans in the behavior and the concept. Also seems to understand why these two countries after nearly a century of struggle. So an ordinary Chinese people's dream and an ordinary American dream is the same point of view. That is the pursuit of happiness, yearning for a more beautiful life. We know an American named Martin Luther King when we are in middle school. He is the leader of the civil rights movement. His phrase "I Have a Dream" spread around the world. Let the world know the power of the American Dream. The American dream is the hope of dream, the success of dream, the dream of equality, happiness of dream. 中国政治语料的组成为习近平主席近年的大学演讲及新年贺词，共计21772字。
美国政治语料的组成为美国历届总统的就职演说，共计19358词。
以上语料的均从官方网站下载，以确保语料的真实性及可靠性。
2.2 研究方法：首先，分别确定要检索的隐喻关键词。
例如，中文语料中的关键词可为梦想，中国梦等；英文语料中的关键词可为dream, American dream等。
然后运用Antconc检索软件对各关键词检索，进而总结出各隐喻类型和语境信息。
最后，对比两个语料中隐喻的异同来以揭示中美两国在文化、历史、宗教等方面的差异。
三、语料分析通过对两个语料的分析可以发现，关于“中国梦”和“美国梦”的概念隐喻在中美政治语篇中大量存在，汉语语料中的隐喻主要有：旅途隐喻、建筑隐喻、战争隐喻、家庭隐喻、有机体隐喻。
英语语料中的隐喻主要有：旅途隐喻、战争隐喻、建筑隐喻、宗教隐喻、有机体隐喻。
并且，英语语料中特有的隐喻是宗教隐喻。

Many people compare this item with the American Dream.This paper is designed to dig into the differences between the American Dream and the Chinese Dream and then look in to the development of US and China.2.A Comparison between the American Dream and the Chinese Dream2.1 DefinitionsThese two items have different definitions and origins.In terms of the Chinese Dream,Xi has described the dream as"national rejuvenation,improvement of people’s livelihoods,prosperity,construction of a better society and military strengthening."[1]He has stated that young people should "dare to dream,work assiduously to fulfill the dreams and contribute to the revitalization of the nation.It’s said that the phrase has been used previously by many Western journalists and Chinese activists,[2][3]a translation of a New York Times article written by the American journalist Thomas Friedman, "China Needs Its Own Dream", has been credited with popularizing the concept in China.[3]He attributes the term to Peggy Liu and the environmental NGO JUCCCE's China Dream project, which defines the Chinese Dream as sustainable development.When it comes to the American Dream,it is a national ethos of the United States,a set of ideals in which freedom includes the opportunity for prosperity and success,and an upward social mobility achieved through hard work.In the definition of the American Dream by James Truslow Adams in 1931, "life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone,with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement" regardless of social class or circumstances of birth.[4]2.2 HistoryThe origin of the American Dream is from the disadvantage group which were immigrants to America from Europe.Everybody can succeed.---This is the dream of them.Most of them farmed,but some dug gold in the western America and even became rich overnight.With the need of labor,they looted innocent India residents and African people to be slaves,aiming to become succeed and be rich.behind their dreams,many people suffered a lot.The next period of the developing process of the American Dream is Industrialization Era.There appeared many business magnets who were hard-working.They had one thing in common---They were very poor but realized their dreams with their talent and diligence and beame legends.For example,John Davison Rockefeller and Thomas Alva Edison.Their stories told people at that time---if you are talented and diligent enough,you can get your own goal.[5] Nowadays,the idea of the American Dream is all men are created equal and that theyare endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights including "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."[6]The history of the Chinese Dream is not that long like the American Dream.In May 2013, Xi Jinping called upon young people "to dare to dream, work assiduously to fulfill the dreams and contribute to the revitalization of the nation." He called upon all levels of the Party and the government to facilitate favorable conditions for their career development. Xi told young people to "cherish the glorious youth, strive with pioneer spirit and contribute their wisdom and energy to the realization of the Chinese dream."[7]3.Conclusion with commentThese two items represent the hopes of super countries.China and US are two of the most powerful and influential countries in the world.What they behave always strongly has impact on the whole world.Many commentators in western countries have said that China will become a country somewhat like the US.But actually it’s easy to tell the differences from the two countries’ dreams.The American Dream focus on individual success and achievement while the Chinese Dream pay more attention to the n ational rejuvenation,improvement of people’s livelihoods,prosperity,construction of a better society and military strengthening.The center of the attention is the whole nation.What the two dreams focus on represent the different philosophies of the two countries.So it can be told that the meaning of the Chinese Dream is not the same with that of the American Dream.In the other side,the development of the whole US is more complete than that of China.And this should be another reason of their distinct aims.Briefly,the development present decide what a country will do in the future.1.Osnos Evan . II. What American values does the movie The Pursuit of Happiness reflect? And what is your understanding about the American Dream and Chinese Dream?
Answer:
Through the movie, The Pursuit of Happiness expressed the main American cultural values, and the core value--individualism--it proposals self-hardworking and diligence to change one’s life letting them become the protagonists of their own life. The individualism has emphasized the American as a self-reliant, self-dependent individual, controlling his own life, and being responsible for anything he does. And the orientation to action which is the key point of Americans, effort, optimism, motivation and measurable achievement are also presented in the movie.
As far as I am concerned, American Dream means "Life should be better, richer and fuller, with opportunity for each one". And it varies with the change of epoch. Nowadays, people are looking toward a new American Dream with less focus on financial gains and more emphasis on living a simple and fulfilling life. In a word, the American Dream is the pursuit of democracy, liberty, equality and happiness.
Chinese people used to pursue their dreams in US years ago, of course, it is still going on--travel across Pacific Ocean and come to US. But now, most people from other countries begin to pursue their dreams in China.The common people’s Chinese dreams may includes a big house, an expensive car, a big fortune, a happy marriage, a harmonious family and traveling around the world while the big Chinese dreams perhaps refers to super power, a stable society and continuous development in economy.
It is obvious that the important reasons why American and Chinese Dreams are induced is triggered by social changes and economic factors. Whether you refer to the phenomenon as an American Dream or Chinese Dream, its meaning is enriched by social, political, and economic developments. From the initial pursuit of freedom, to the pursuit of material satisfaction, resulting in being successful in the eyes of others, the American Dream and the Chinese Dream are essentially different means that achieve the same end.。
