学生在小学阶段学过相关话题的词汇和简单表达，有一定的基础；因而本课对于初一学生并不陌生。
通过小学阶段的相关铺垫以及初一第一个学期的英语学习，学生对英语学习表现出一定的积极性和初步的自信心。而且本单元以运动和食物为话题，让学生建立起食物的摄取要根据运动的需要来制定，帮助他们形成健康科学的饮食观念。
