Withtremendous interest in Industrial Engineering, I am writing to apply for acceptance into your Ph.D. graduate program.In 1995, I entered the Nanjing University of Science & Technology (NUST) -- widely considered one of the China’s best engineering schools. During the following undergraduate study, my academic records kept distinguished among the whole department. I was granted First Class Prize every semester,In 1999, I got the privilege to enter the graduate program waived of the admission test.At the period of my graduate study, my overall GPA(3.77/4.0) ranked top 5% in the department. In the second semester, I became teacher assistant that is given to talented and matured students only. This year, I won the Acer Scholarship as the one and only candidate in my department, which is the ultimate accolade for distinguished students endowed by my university. Presently, I am preparing my graduation thesis and trying for the honor of Excellent Graduation Thesis.Research experience and academic activityWhen a sophomore, I joined the Association of AI Enthusiast and began to narrow down my interest for my future research. With the tool of OpenGL and Matlab, I designed a simulationprogram for transportation scheduling system. It is now widely used by different research groups in NUST. I assumed and fulfilled a sewage analysis & dispose project for Nanjing sewagetreatment plant. This was my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a commercial product.In retrospect, I find myself standing on a solid basis in both theory and experience, which has prepared me for the Ph.D. program. My future research interests include: Network Scheduling Problem, Heuristic Algorithm research (especially in GA and Neural network), Supply chain network research, Hybrid system performance analysis with Petri nets and Data Mining.I & & & & & &, is the school graduates, I study the automation, my own love of the profession, in college, I learn professional knowledge, ability has been improved.The prepared mind. Continue to challenge, is to constantly improve the support in my university four years ahead of the inexhaustible power. His alma mater, practical and rigorous study so that I have set a hard, quick thinking, strive for knowledge learning attitude, knowledge structure, solid professional knowledge and proficient computer skills is a combination of. My great advantage. On the basis of professional learning, I study the electronic circuit design software, MCU, PLC programmable controller, MCU application development and design and good electronic circuit. I know that, as a kind of electric students need to master computer applications, has studied a variety of computer programming Language, C, assembly language and so on, can master and apply office, windows, XP, smoothly passed the computer grade examination, and achieved good results "Ten thousand years too long, seize the day". Time waits for no one, not beyond time will be eliminated in history. Napoleon said: "don't want to be a marshal is not a good soldier. I want to say" do not want to do a career staff is not good staff, I want to "race with the wind, I believe the strength and charisma to conquer all, but I hope to the young, the most capable, most of the sense of challenge time culture, self-worth, growth is able to endure hardship, to fight the elite. 学术论文的正文一般包括Method,Result,Discussion三个 部分。这三部分主要描述研究课题的具体内容、方法,研究过 程中所使用的设备、仪器、条件,并如实公布有关数据和研究 结果等。Conclusion是对全文内容或有关研究课题进行的总 体性讨论。它具有严密的科学性和客观性,反映一个研究课题 的价值,同时提出以后的研究方向。 为了帮助说明论据、事实,正文中经常使用各种图表。最常用 的是附图(Figure)和表(Table),此外还有图解或简图 (Diagram)、曲线图或流程图(Graph)、视图(View)、 剖面图(Profile)、图案(Pattern)等。在文中提到时,通 常的表达法为: 如图 4 所示 As (is) shown in Fig.4, 如表 1 所示 As (is) shown in Tab.1,

2、注释 注释有两种方式,一种为脚注,即将注释放在出现的当页底部; 另一种是将全文注释集中在结尾部分。两种注释位置不同,方 法一样。注释内容包括: (1) 引文出处。注释方式参见“参考文献”。 (2) 对引文的说明,如作者的见解、解释。 (3) 文中所提到的人的身份,依次为职称或职务、单位。如: Professor, Dean of Dept…. University(教授,……大 学……系主任) Chairman, … Company, USA(美国……公司董事长) (4) 本论文是否曾发表过。

论文标题中,有些冠词可以省略,例如: (1) Summary on Development of Switched Reluctance Machine 开关磁阻电机发展综述(在Summary前省略 了定冠词The)。 在论文标题中常出现的词汇归纳如下: summary ( 综 述 ) , development ( 发 展 ) , application ( 应 用 ) , comparison ( 比 较 ) , study (研究), research (研究), experimental research (实验研究), application research (应用研究), design (设计), analysis(分析), method (方法), principle(原则),investigation(调查),discussion (讨论)。

学术文章的标题主要有三种结构:名词性词组(包括动名词), 介词词组,名词词组 + 介词词组。间或也用一个疑问句作标题 (多用在人文社会科学领域),但一般不用陈述句或动词词组作 标题。
一、名词性词组
名词性词组由名词及其修饰语构成。名词的修饰语可以是形容 词、介词短语,有时也可以是另一个名词。名词修饰名词时, 往往可以缩短标题的长度。以下各标题分别由两个名词词组构 成。例如: Latent demand and the browsing shopper (名词词组+名词词组)
