From online learning platforms to interactive educational tools, technology has revolutionized the traditional classroom setting. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of technology in education, and provide examples to support your viewpoint.*Sample answer for Part V:Technology has undoubtedly revolutionized the field of education, offering new opportunities for learning andcollaboration. One of the key advantages of technology in education is its ability to provide access to a vast amount of information and resources. With the internet and digital tools, students can access educational materials, tutorials, and online courses from anywhere in the world. This has greatly expanded the learning opportunities for students, allowing them to pursue education at their own pace and convenience.Another advantage of technology in education is its ability to enhance the learning experience through interactive and engaging platforms. For example, virtual reality simulations can provide hands-on experiences in science or history, allowing students to explore and learn in a more immersive way. Additionally, online tools such as video lectures and interactive quizzes can cater to different learning styles, making education more accessible and inclusive for all students. However, technology in education also has its drawbacks. One of the main concerns is the potential for distractions and loss of focus in the classroom. With the prevalence of smartphones and social media, students may be tempted to multitask during lessons, leading to a decrease in attention and engagement. Moreover, the reliance on technology for learning can also hinder traditional skills such as critical thinking andproblem-solving, as students may become overly dependent on digital tools for information. In conclusion, while technology has brought numerous benefits to education, it is essential to strike a balance between digital tools and traditional learning methods. By harnessing the power of technology effectively, educators can create a dynamic and engaging learning environment that fosters creativity and critical thinking skills in students. Ultimately, technology has the potential to revolutionize education and empower students to become lifelong learners in the digital age. This concludes the 2024 University Level English Test (CET-6) Exam. She was puzzled and somewhatdisappointed because she liked the individual otherwise. He had a perfect resume and gave good responses to her questions, but thefact that he never looked her in the eye said “untrustworthy,” so shedecided to offer the job to her second choice.“It wasn’t until I attended a diversity workshop that I realized theperson we passed over was the perfect person,” Tiffany confesses. Whatshe hadn’t known at the time of the interview was that the candidate’s“different”behavior was simply a cultural misunderstanding . He was an Asian-Americanraised in a household where respect for those in authority was shown byaverting(避开) your eyes.“I was just thrown off by the lack of ye contact; not realizing it wascultural,” Tiffany says. “I missed out ,but will not miss thatopportunity again.”Many of us have had similar encounters with behaviors we perceive asdifferent. As the world becomes smaller and our workplaces more diverse,it is becoming essential to expand our under-standing of others and toreexamine some of our false assumptions .Hire AdvantageAt a time when hiring qualified people is becoming moredifficult ,employers who can eliminate invalid biases(偏爱) from theprocess have a distinct advantage .My company, Mindsets LLC ,helpsorganizations and individuals see their own blind spots . A real estaterecruiter we worked with illustrates the positive difference suchtraining can make .“During my Mindsets coaching session ,I was taught how to recruit a diversified workforce. I recruited people from different cultures and skill sets .The agents were able to utilize their full potential and experiences to build up the company .When the real estate market began to change, it was because we had a diverse agent pool that we were able to stay in the real estate market much longer than others in the same profession.”Blinded by GenderDale is an account executive who attended one of my workshops onsu pervising a diverse workforce . “Through one of the sessions ,I discovered my personal bias ,” he recalls . “I learned I had not been looking at a person as a whole person , and being open to differences .” In his case , the blindness was not about culture but rather gender.“I had a management position open in my department ;and the two finalists were a man and a woman . Had I not attended this workshop , I would have automatically assumed the man was the best candidate because the position required quite a bit of extensive travel . My reasoning would have been that even though both candidates were great and could have been successful in the position , I assumed the woman would have wanted to be home with her children and not travel .”Dale’s assumptions are another example of the well-intentioned but incorrect thinking that limits an organization’s ability to tap into the full potential of a diverse workforce.“I learned from the class that instead of imposing my gender biases into the situation , I needed to present the full range of duties, responsibilities and expectations to all candidates and allow them to make an informed decision .” Dale credits the workshop , “because it helped me make decisions based on fairness .”Year of the Know-It-AllDoug is another supervisor who attended one of my workshops .He recalls a major lesson learned from his own employee.“One of my most embarrassing moments was when I had a Chinese-American employee put in a request to take time off to celebrate Chinese New Year . In my ignorance , I assumed he had his dates wrong , as the first of January had just passed . When I advised him of this , I gave him a long talking-to about turning in requests early with the proper dates .“He pati ently waited , then when I was done , he said he would like Chinese New Year did not begin January first , and that Chinese New Year ,which is tied to the lunar cycle ,is one of the most celebrated holidays on theChinese calendar . Needless to say , I felt very embarrassed in assuminghe had his dates mixed up . But I learned a great deal about assumptions ,and that the timing of holidays varies considerably from culture toculture .“Attending the diversity workshop helped me realize how much I couldlearn by simply asking questions and creating dialogues with my employees ,rather than making assumptions and trying to be a know-it-all ,” Dougadmits . “The biggest thing I took away from the workshop is learninghow to be more ‘inclusive’ to differences.A better Bottom LineAn open mind about diversity not only improves organizationsinternally , it is profitable as well . These comments from a customerservice representative show how an inclusive attitude can improvesales .”Most of my customers speak English as a second language . Oneof the best things my company has done is to contract with a languageservice that offers translations over the phone . It wasn’t until my bossreceived Mindsets’ training that she was able to understand how importantinclusiveness was to customer service . As result , our customer base hasincreased .”Once we start to see people as individuals . and discard thestereotypes , we can move positively toward inclusiveness for everyone .Diversity is about coming together and taking advantage of our differencesand similarities . It is about building better communities andorganizations that enhance us as individuals and reinforce our sharedhumanity .When we begin to question our assumptions and challenge what we think wehave learned from our past , from the media, peers , family , friends ,etc , we begin to realize that some of our conclusions are flawed(有缺陷的) or contrary to our fundamental values . We need to train our-selvesto think differently , shift our mindsets and realize that diversity opensdoors for all of us ,creating opportunities in organizations andcommunities that benefit everyone.1. Helicopter Moms vs.Free-Range KidsWould you let your fourth-grader ride public transportation without an adult? Probably not. Still, when Lenore Skenazy, a columnist for the New York Sun, wrote about letting her son takethe subway alone to get back to “Long story short:my son got home from a department store on the Upper East Side, she didn’t expect t o get hit with a w ave of criticism from readers.“Long story short: My son got home, overjoyed with independence,” Skenazy wrote on April 4 in the New York Sun. “Long story longer: Half the peopleI’ve told this episode to now want to turn on in for child abuse. As if keeping kids under lock and key and cell phone and careful watch is the right way to rear kids. It’s not. It’s debilitating (使虚弱)Dfor us and for them.”Online message boards were soon full of people both applauding and condemning Skenazy’s dec ision to let her son go it alone. She wound up defending herself on CNN (panied by her son) and on popular blogs like the buffington post, where her follow-up piece was ironically headlined “More From America’sWorst Mom.”The episode has ignited another one of those debates thatdivides parents into vocal opposing camps. Are Modern parents needlessly overprotective, or is the world a more plicated and dangerous place than it was when previous generations were allowed to wander about unsupervised? From th e “she’s an irresponsible mother” camp came: “Shame on you forbeing so careless about his safety,” in Comments on the buffongton post. Andthere was this from a mother of four: “How would you have felt if he didn’t e home?” But Skenazy got a lot o f support, too, with women and men writing in with stories about how they were allowed to take trips all by them selves at seven or eight. She also got heaps of praise for bucking the “helicopter parent” trend: “Good for this Mom,” one menter wrote on the buffongton post. “This is a much-needed reality check.”Last week, encouraged by all the attention, Skenazy started her own blogDFree Range, kidsDpromoting the idea that modern children need some of the same independence that her generation had. In the good old days nine-year-old baby boomers rode their bikes to school, walked to the store, took busesDand even subwaysDall by themselves. Her blog, she says,is dedicated to sensible parenting. “At Free Range Kids, we believe in safe kids. We believe in c ar seats and safety belts. We do NOT believe that every time school-age children go outside, they need a security guard.”So why are some parents so nervous about letting their children out of their sight? Are cities and towns less safe and kids more vulnerable to crimes like child kidnap and sexual abuse than they were in previous generations? Not exactly. New York City, for instance, is safer than it’s ever been; it’s ranked 36th in crime among all American cities. Nationwide, stringer kidnaps are extreme ly rare; there’s a one-in-a-million chance a child will be taken by a stranger, according to the Justice Department. And 90 percent of sexual abuse cases are mitted by someone the child knows. Mortality rates from all causes, including disease and accidents, for American children are lower now than they were 25 years’ ago. According to Child Trends, a nonprofit research group, between 80 and death rates dropped by 44 percent for children aged 5 to and 32 percent for teens aged to .Then there’s the wh ole question of whether modern parents are more watchful and nervous about safety than previousgenerations. Yes, some are. Part of the problem is that with wall to wall Internet and cable news, every missing child case gets so much airtime that it’s not s urprising even normal parental anxiety can be amplified. And many middle-class parents have gotten used to managing their children’s time and shuttling them to various enriching activities, so the idea of letting them out on their own can seem lik e a risk. Back in 72, when many of today’s parents were kids, 87 percent of children who lived within a mile of school walked or biked every day. But today, the Centers for Disease Control report that only percent of children bike, walk or otherwise t themselves to school. The extra supervision is both a city and a suburb phenomenon. Parents are worried about crime, and they are worried about kids getting caught in trafficin a city that’s not used to pedestrians. On the other hand, there are still plenty of kids whose parents give them a lot of independence, by choice or by necessity. The After School Alliance finds that more than million kids aged 5 to are responsible for taking care of themselves after school. Only 6.5 million kids participate in organized prog rams. “Many children who have working parents have to take the subway or bus to getto school. Many do this by themselves because they have no other way to get to the schools,” says Dr. Richard Gallagher, director of the Parenting Institute at the New York University Child Study Center. For those parents who wonder how and when they should start allowing their kids more freedom, there’s no clear-cut answer. Child experts discourage a one-size-fits-all approach to parenting. What’s right for Skenazy’s nine-year-old could be inappropriate for another one. It all depends on developmental issue, maturity, and the psychological and emotional makeup of that child. Several factors must be taken into account, says Gallagher. “The ability to follow parent guidelines, the child’s level of fort in handling such situations, and a child’s general judgment should be weighed.”Gallagher agrees with Skenazy that many nine-year-olds are ready for independence like taking public transportation alone. “At certain times of the day, on certain routes, the subways are generally safe for these children, especially if they have grown up in the city and have been taught how to be safe, how to obtain help if they are concerned for their safety, and how to avoid u nsafe situations by being watchful and on their toes.”But even with more traffic and fewer sidewalks, modern parents do have one advantage their parents didn’t: the cell phone. Being able to check in with a child anytime goes a long way toward relieving parental anxiety and may help parents loosen their control a little sooner. Skenazy got a lot of criticism because she didn’t give her kid her cell phone because she thought he’d lose it and wanted him to learn to go it alone without depending on momDa major principle of free-range parenting. But most parents are more than happy to use cell phones to keep track of their kids. And for those who like the idea of free-range kids but still struggle with their inner helicopter parent, there may be a middle way. A new generation of GPS cell phones with tracking software make it easier than ever to follow a child’s every movement via the InternetDwithout seeming to interfere or hover. Of course, when they go to college, they might start objecting to being mo nitored as they’re on parole (假释).注意:此部分试题请在答题卡1上作答。

It was a bit nerve-wracking to speak in front of the examiner, but I did my best to stay calm and confident.Overall, the 2024 June College English Test Band Four was a tough but rewarding experience. I learned a lot from taking the test, and I feel like I have improved my English skills. I can't wait to see how I did on the test, and I hope all my hard work pays off!So, if any of you are thinking about taking the College English Test Band Four, go for it! It's a great opportunity to challenge yourself and to improve your English skills. Good luck to all of you future test-takers!篇8Hello everyone! Today I'm gonna tell you about the English exam that I just took in June 2024. It was the fourth set of the University English Test (CET-4) and let me tell you, it was tough! The exam had four parts: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. The listening part was super tricky because the speakers talked really fast and I had to write down the answers at the same time. But I think I did okay on that part. The reading part was not too bad. There were some passages about history, science, and literature. I had to answerquestions about the main idea of the passages and some specific details. I think I did pretty well on this part. The writing part was my favorite because I love writing stories. I had to write an essay about my favorite book and why I like it. I chose "Harry Potter" because it's my all-time favorite! I talked about the characters, the plot, and how the book has inspired me.The speaking part was a bit nerve-wracking because I had to talk to the examiners face-to-face! They asked me questions about my hobbies, my family, and my future plans. I tried my best to answer confidently and fluently.Overall, I think I did my best on the exam. I studied hard and prepared as much as I could. I hope I pass this time and move on to the next level of English learning. Wish me luck! Thank you for reading my little story about the CET-4 exam in June 2024.Bye-bye!篇9Hey guys, guess what? I just took the fourth set of the College English Test (CET) in June 2024 and I am so excited to tell you all about it!First of all, the listening part was super tricky this time. There were a lot of fast-paced conversations and I had to really focus to catch all the details. But I think I did pretty well overall.Next up was the reading section, and let me tell you, those passages were tough! I had to read really carefully to understand the main ideas and details. But hey, that's what studying is all about, right? The writing section was probably my favorite part of the test.I had to write an essay about the importance of teamwork in today's world. I talked about how working together can help us achieve our goals faster and better. I even gave some examples from my own experiences to make my essay more interesting. Finally, the speaking part was a bit nerve-wracking, but I managed to get through it. I had to talk about my favorite movie and explain why I liked it so much. I talked about how the characters were relatable and the plot was engaging. I even practiced speaking in front of the mirror beforehand, so I felt more confident.Overall, I think I did pretty well on the fourth set of the CET. It was definitely challenging, but I pushed through and did my best.I can't wait to see my scores and celebrate with my friends. Yay, CET!篇10Hey guys, today I wanna talk about the English CET-4 exam in June 2024! It was super exciting and I can’t wait to tell you all about it.Firstly, the listening part was kinda tricky this time. There were lots of fast-paced conversations and I had to really concentrate to catch all the details. But I think I did pretty well because I’ve been practicing a lot with listening exercises online.Next up was the reading section. There were some long passages about history and science, which were a bit tough for me. But I didn’t panic and just tried my best to understand the main ideas. I also used my reading strategies like underlining key words and phrases to help me answer the questions. The writing part was my favorite! I got to choose between writing an essay or a letter, and I went with the essay option. I wrote about the importance of learning a second language and how it can benefit us in our future careers. I used examples from my own life to support my ideas and I think it turned out really well.Lastly, the speaking test was nerve-wracking but fun. I had to talk about a given topic for 2 minutes, and then have a discussion with the examiner. I was a bit nervous at first, but I just pretended I was talking to my friends and it helped me relax.Overall, I think I did a great job on the exam and I’m feeling pretty confident about my results. I can’t wait to get my scores and see how I did. And now I’m gonna start preparing for the next level, the CET-6! Bring it on, English exams!。

Passage One
Questions 21 to 25 are based on the following passage.
Unless we spend money to spot and prevent asteroids (小行
星) now, one might crash into Earth and destroy life as we know it, say some scientist s.
Asteroids are bigger versions of the meteoroids (流
星) that race across the night sky. Most orbit the sun far from Earth and don’
t threaten us. But there are also thousands of asteroids whose orbits put them on a coll ision course with Earth. Buy $50 million worth of new telescopes right now. Then spe nd $10 million a year for the next 25 years to locate most of the space rocks. By the ti me we spot a fatal one, the scientists say, we’ll have a way to change its course.
Some scientists favor pushing asteroids off course with nuclear weapons. But the cost wouldn’t be cheap.
Is it worth it? Two things experts consider when judging any risk re: 1) How likel y the event is; and 2) How bad the consequences if the event occurs. Experts think an asteroid big enough to destroy lots of life might strike Earth once every 500,000 years . Sounds pretty rare—but if one did fall, it would be the end of the world. “If we don’t take care of these big asteroids, they’ll take care of us,” says one scientist. “It’s that simple.”
The cure, though, might be worse than the disease. Do we really want fleets of n uclear weapons sitting around on Earth? “The world has less to fear from doomsday (毁灭性
的) rocks than from a great nuclear fleet set against them,” said a New York Times ar ticle.
21. What does the passage say about asteroids and meteoroids?
A) They are heavenly bodies different in composition. B) They are heavenly bodi es similar in nature. C) There are more asteroids than meteoroids. D) Asteroids are mo re mysterious than meteoroids.
22. What do scientists say about the collision of an asteroid with Earth?
A) It is very unlikely but the danger exists.
B) Such a collision might occur once every 25 years.
C) Collisions of smaller asteroids with Earth occur more often than expected. D) It’s still too early to say whether such a collision might occur.
23. What do people think of the suggestion of using nuclear weapons to
alter the courses of asteroids?
A) It sounds practical but it may not solve the problem.
B) It may create more problems than it might solve.
C) It is a waste of money because a collision of asteroids with Earth is very
unlikely. D) Further research should be done before it is proved applicable. 24. W
e can conclude from the passage that ________.
A) while pushing asteroids off course nuclear weapons would destroy the world
B) asteroids racing across the night sky are likely to hit Earth in the near future C)
the worry about asteroids can be left to future generations since it is unlikely to happen in our lifetime D) workable solutions still have to be found to prevent a collision of asteroids
with Earth 25. Which of the following best describes the author’s tone in this passage?
A) Optimistic. B) Critical. C) Objective. D) Arbitrary.
