1.Should College Students Be Allowed to Live off Campus? Some time ago, China’s Ministry of Education banned university students from renting private accommodation. To this people’s attitudes differ sharply. Some hold the positive view. They say that most students prefer to live off campus for the purpose of living with their boyfriends or girl friends, which might severely affect their study. Besides, living on campus can ensure the safety of students and facilitate communication between them. However, many others hold the opposite view. They claim that the living conditions on campus are unbearable. The dormitory is usually crowded and badly equipped. Besides, the university cuts the electricity too early every night. Therefore, many students choose to live off campus in rented houses with the purpose of enjoying a reasonably better living environment and concentrating more on their studies. As far as I am concerned, I tend to believe that universities should be more flexible towards the administration of dorms. The ban should never be acut-off measure and special situations should be considered. Meanwhile, the school should try to upgrade the overall condition of dorms and provide all students with a better service at a low price.(或Personally, I am in favor of the decision of China’s Ministry of Education. Anyway, college students, most aged 18-22, are still too young to control themselves or make proper decisions. Besides, living on campus promotes a sense of belonging by being closely connected with other students. This could truly be a valuable part of the four-year college education.)2. On Lottery GamesThere is no denying the fact that lottery games have become a hotly debated topic in China. Opinions on this issue differ from person to person. Some people believe that lottery games are beneficial in many ways. For one thing, they help collect money for the poor, the disabled and the cause of sports. For another, lottery games provide people with a means of entertainment or pastime. Many others, however, hold the opposite view. They claim that lottery games are, in fact, a kind of gambling. People are tempted to earn money through their luckinstead of down-to-earth labor. They also aruge that the ticket buyers attach more importance to the prizes than to the support of the disabled or the cause of sports. As far as I am concerned, weighing the arguments of both sides, I believe that it is OK to buy lottery tickets. Anyway, it has been existence for many years and proved to be more beneficial than harmful. Actually, we don’t have to worry too much because facts have shown that most people can treat lottery games with a peaceful and normal mind.(Personally, I think that both sides have something right. Actually, lottery games should be viewed as a two-edged sword, which presents us with both benefits and troubles. But we should not give up eating for fear of choking. The best policy, as I see it, is to maximize their advantages and minimize their unhealthy influence, so that they can benefit us in a better way.)3. TV Talent Show --- A Good Thing or Bad?An army of people today are fond of the TV talent show. They support it and see themselves as fans of one or another show star. They believe that the TV talent show can change one’s fortune. At least, they argue that, the show offers the opportunity to show and develop one’s talents. On the contrary, a number of people hold the negative attitude to TV talent shows. They maintain that the TV talent show today is like a river that has risen to its flood level. It misleads the youth and makes them believe that they can make a fortune or become famous overnight. As a result, a lot of students can’t calm down to study on the show’s season. Some of them take interest in imitating their idol, so much so that they can hardly recognize themselves. For my part, the TV talent show is like a double-edged sword, which can do both good and harm. Therefore, it is extremely important for us to face it properly. For one thing, the TV studios are supposed to create more positive and favorable shows. For another, the media ought to guide people, especially the young, to right way and refrain from exaggerating the effect of the show.4. College Students’Job HuntingThere is no denying the fact that job hunting is a grave problem with which college graduates areconfronted. Reports are often heard upon the number of students who fail to find a job on graduation. Actually, the problem has become so widespread that it has severely affected the graduates’ life and hindered the development of economy.A number of factors account for the problem, but the following are the most critical ones. Firstly, in recent years, colleges and universities have enrolled so many students that the number of graduates are far greater than the need in the market. Secondly, many graduates would rather stay in large cities without suitable jobs to do than go to small towns or the country. Last but not least, the ongoing financial crisis and economic depression aggravate the difficulty in job-seeking.In view of the seriousness of the problem, effective measures must be taken before things get worse. For one thing, it is essential that the government create more job opportunities by all means. For another, graduates should change their attitude towards employment and go to work in small cities and the country. With these measures taken, we have reasons to believe that the problem can be solved in the near future.5. Food SafetyThere is no denying the fact that food safety is a grave problem with which we are confronted. Reports are often heard upon food products of bad quality. The most notable instance might be the notorious San Lu milk powder scandal which has drawn considerable publicity in the past months. Actually, the problem has become so widespread that it has severely affected people’s life and hindered the development of economy.Fake and shoddy food products are bound to generate severe consequences if we keep turning a blind eye to them. First and foremost, they directly infringe upon consumers’rights, wasting their money and threatening their health and even lives. Besides, the production and sale of such food cause serious losses on the part of honest and lawful producers. Last but not least, the destruction of the food means a grievous waste of the nation’s resources. In view of the seriousness of the problem, effective measures must be taken before things get worse. First, it is high time that pertinent laws and regulations were worked out and rigidly enforced to crack down on anyproduction and circulation of substandard food products. Meanwhile, inactive and incompetent civil servants should be immediately purged from the team of food safety supervision and administration. Only with these measures taken can we expect a bright future of this nation.(10)Effects of Financial Crisis on College Students审题概述:这是一篇主要论述金融危机与大学生关系的文章。

In some universities students rating has even become the only source of information on teaching effectiveness..This, however, has caused great controversy. Some are in favor of the rating system, They hold that since students attend the teachers classes every day, they should have their opinion about their teachers effectiveness. Others, on the contrary, are strongly against it. They believe that there is much more to teaching than what is shown on students rating forms. Students should not be expected to judge whether the materials they use are up to date or how well the teacher knows about the subject. These judgments require professional knowledge, which is best left for the teachers colleagues.I think students rating of their teachers is necessary, but it should be conducted in a way that can really shed meaningful light on teachers performance. Instead of rating the teachers knowledge on the subject, students should be asked to estimate what they have learned in a course, and to report on such things as a teachers ability to communicate with students, his or her relationship with students, and his or her ability to arouse students interest in the subject.

In the contemporary educational landscape, technology has become an integral part of the learning process. As a participant in the university-level English competition, I am excited to delve into the topic of how technology is reshaping the way we learn and teach.Firstly, the advent of online learning platforms has revolutionized access to education. Students from all corners of the globe can now enroll in courses offered by prestigious institutions without the need to physically attend classes. This democratization of education has opened doors for many who previously may have been limited by geographical or financial constraints.Secondly, the use of interactive software and applications has transformed the classroom experience. Educators can now employ a variety of tools to engage students, such as educational games, virtual reality simulations, and collaborative platforms that allow for group work and peer-to-peer learning. Moreover, technology has also facilitated personalized learning. With the help of AI and data analytics, teachers can tailor their instruction to meet the individual needs of each student. This approach not only helps students grasp concepts more effectively but also fosters a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom. However, the integration of technology in education is not without its challenges. Issues such as digital divide, where unequal access to technology can exacerbate educational inequalities, must be addressed. Additionally, the over-reliance on technology can sometimes lead to a decrease in face-to-face interaction and critical thinking skills. In conclusion, technology has the potential to greatly enhance the educational experience when used thoughtfully and responsibly. As we continue to navigate the complexities of modern education, it is crucial for educators, policymakers, and students to work together to harness the power of technology for the betterment of the learning process. This essay is designed to be a part of a university-level English competition, focusing on the topic of technology's role in education. It provides a balanced view of thebenefits and challenges associated with the use of technology in the classroom.。

全国大学生英语竞赛作文万能模板全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Big Journey To The English CompetitionHi there! My name is Lily and I'm 8 years old. I just had the most exciting adventure and I can't wait to tell you all about it! You see, last month I got to go to the National University English Competition. I know, I know, you're probably thinking "But Lily, you're just a kid! How did you end up at a university competition??" Well, let me explain...You see, my big sister Jenny is a student at Capital University. One day, she came home from classes and told me and my parents about this huge English writing contest her school was hosting. The best students from universities all across the country would come and write essays to see who was the best. When I heard about it, I got super excited! I loved writing stories and English is my favorite subject. I begged my sister to let me enter too. At first she said "No way, Lily! This is for university students only. You're much too young." But I kept bugging her about it until finally she agreed to show one of her professors astory I had written. To everyone's surprise, her professor thought my story was wonderful and said I could absolutely compete! So Jenny helped me fill out all the paperwork and before I knew it, I was off to Capital University for the competition! The campus was so big and beautiful, with tall buildings, green lawns, and students walking everywhere. I felt like a tiny little fish in a huge pond. But I wasn't scared - I was determined to win!The first round of the competition was for everyone to write a short essay on a surprise topic. We only had one hour to write it. When I saw the topic, my heart sank - it was about the environment and climate change. I didn't know very much about that subject at all. But I took a deep breath and got to work. I wrote about a little girl who loved planting flowers and trees and took care of all the plants and animals in her neighborhood. Maybe it wasn't exactly what they were looking for, but I worked really hard on making it descriptive and creative. After that round, we had to wait a few hours for the judges to read all the essays and pick students to move on to the next round. I was so nervous! But then I saw my name appear on the list of finalists. I had made it to the next round! Jenny gave me a big high five and I felt ready to take on the world. For the final round, we had to write a persuasive essay arguing whether reading books or watching movies is a better way to experience stories. Now this was something I could really sink my teeth into! I loved reading novels and watching films, and I had very strong opinions on which one was better. So I spent the next three hours pouring my heart into an essay that I hoped would blow the judges' minds. When time was finally up, we had to submit our essays for judging. Then we got to take a break and eat some pizza while the professors decided who the winners would be. Can you imagine how antsy I was? This was the biggest thing I had ever done in my whole life! Finally, after what felt like forever, it was time for the award ceremony. The professors thanked everyone for participating, and then started calling out the names of the winners. Third place...second place...and then they announced that the first place winner was...ME! Little Lily, the 8-year-old kid who had snuck into a university competition. I was utterly shocked!I quickly ran up onto the huge stage in the auditorium. The professors handed me an enormous trophy that was almost as big as me, along with a very impressive 5000 cash prize. Can you believe it? I had just beaten students from all the top universitieswith my creative writing skills. As I gave my thank you speech (mostly just a bunch of jumbled words because I was so excited), I looked out and saw my proud big sister Jenny cheering loudly. Her professors were laughing and clapping, totally amazed that an elementary schooler had bested all their talented students. I felt like a rock star!On the ride home, my parents told me how proud they were that I had pursued my passion for writing with such determination. They said that from that day on, they would encourage me to enter any writing competition I wanted, no matter what age it was intended for. And you know what? I can't wait for the next one! Who's going to stop me from showing off my incredible skills? Thanks for reading about my big adventure. This is Lily, the writing machine, signing off!篇2My Awesome School LifeHi there! My name is Lily and I'm a 10-year-old student in 5th grade. I just love going to school and learning new things every day. Let me tell you all about my awesome school life!First off, I have the most amazing teacher ever - Mrs. Johnson. She makes learning fun with her silly jokes andenergetic personality. She's really nice too and always encourages us kids to do our best. Whenever I struggle with a tricky math problem or can't spell a weird word, she patiently helps me until I get it right. I feel so lucky to have such a great teacher! Then there are my classes which are just so interesting and engaging. My favorite is science because we get to do lots of cool experiments. Just last week, we made little volcanoes erupt with baking soda and vinegar. It was so awesome watching the "lava" bubble over! I also really enjoy art class where I can unleash my creativity through painting, sculpting, and more. Who knew making pinch pots out of clay could be so much fun?Let's not forget about the best part of any school day - lunchtime! Our cafeteria has the yummiest food like chicken nuggets, pizza, and my all-time favorite, chocolate chip cookies. I always look forward to seeing what's on the menu. Eating with my friends is also tons of fun as we laugh, tell jokes, and swap funny stories about our mornings. After lunch, I feel recharged and ready to tackle the rest of the day. Subjects like reading, writing, and social studies are next. While these can sometimes be challenging, I know paying attention and working hard is important. My parents andteachers are always telling me that getting a good education will prepare me for an amazing future!Speaking of the future, I have so many big dreams for when I grow up. Some ideas I've thought of are becoming a scientist, professional artist, teacher, or maybe even an astronaut! The world is just filled with so many possibilities. I can't wait to see where my journey will take me.When that final bell rings at the end of the day, I head outside to meet my mom or walk home with friends. Once I'm back, I refuel with a snack and get started on any homework I have. Mom and Dad are super helpful if I get stuck on an assignment. Before I know it, it's time for my favorite activities like playing outside, reading books, or watching movies with my family. As I'm drifting off to sleep at night, I smile thinking about another wonderful day at school. I have so much love for my teachers, subjects, friends, and just the whole experience in general. School is letting me have a fun childhood while growing my brain and preparing me for my future dreams. Even though it can be hard work, I wouldn't have it any other way!Well, that's a little peek into my daily life as an elementary school kid. Getting an education is the best thing ever in mybook. I have a feeling the years ahead are going to be just as awesome and filled with learning, laughter, and making amazing memories. I feel so grateful!篇3My Awesome AdventuresHi there! My name is Tommy and I'm 8 years old. I go to Parkview Elementary School and I'm in 3rd grade. My teacher Mrs. Robinson asked us to write about our most awesome adventure for this big writing contest. At first I didn't know what to write about because I've had so many awesome adventures! But then I remembered the best one from last summer.Last summer, my family went on a huge road trip across the whole country! We packed up our mini-van with all our stuff - snacks, games, pillows, you name it. My little sister Sarah couldn't wait to get going. "Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" she kept asking over and over before we even left the driveway! Mom and dad just laughed. Our first stop was the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Have you ever seen the Grand Canyon before? It's ginormous! The biggest hole in the ground you've ever seen. We took a little hike along the rim trail and spotted some deer and squirrels. I wished Icould just jump right into the middle of the canyon, but mom said that was way too dangerous. Bummer!Next we drove to Los Angeles to visit our cousin Maria and her family. They live right by the beach in Santa Monica. The ocean was so big and the waves were crashing so loud. I had never seen anything like it! Maria's dad took us all surfing and I actually stood up on the board for a few seconds before doing a spectacular wipeout. Surfing is really hard but I want my own surfboard for my next birthday. From LA we kept heading north up the Pacific Coast. The views were just breathtaking. All the cliffs and rocky beaches and little seaside towns. We stopped a million times to take pics. My dad is kind of a photographer nut so he made us pose all silly for his camera. Whatever dad, just don't put those goofy pics online! Our last big stop was theRedwoodNational Park to see the giant Redwood trees. Whoa, those trees are titans! I've never seen anything so tall in my whole life. We climbed through the trunk of one fallen tree that was bigger than our house. The park ranger said some Redwoods are over 2,000 years old! Can you imagine being that old of a tree? That's definitely older than sliced bread. After the Redwoods we just cruised home, already dreaming about our next big road trip. I had the best time seeing so many cool new places and trying new things like surfing. My little sister puked in the car twice from carsickness but she still had fun too (I think!).It's hard being cooped up in the car for that long, but we played lots of road trip games and listened to awesome music to pass the time. My favorite game is "Fortunately/Unfortunately" where you make up a story one word at a time. Unfortunately we ran out of snacks pretty quick so we had to stop for junk food way too often!I'll never forget that incredible trip across America. We made so many amazing memories as a family. Our country is so diverse and beautiful. There are still a million places I want to go and adventures I want to have. Like hiking in the Rocky Mountains or seeing the Statue of Liberty in New York City up close. Maybe taking a train across Canada or even a plane to Europe someday! For now though, I'm just glad I got to experience the wonder and freedom of an epic road trip last summer. If you've never done a big road trip before, I highly recommend asking your parents to plan one. Just make sure you pack plenty of snacksand games to stay entertained! Who knows what awesome adventures are waiting just around the bend?Well, I think that's enough writing from me for this contest. I'm getting a little homework'ed out if you know what I mean! Thanks for reading about my most awesome adventure. I crushed this assignment, right Mrs. Robinson? Maybe I'll get lucky and win that contest after all. A boy can dream! Time to go play some video games...篇4My Big Idea for Making the World BetterHi there! My name is Timmy and I'm 8 years old. I love playing soccer, reading comics, and thinking up big ideas to help make the world an awesome place. Today I want to share my latest idea with you - get ready, it's a real game-changer!You see, I've been noticing how many people seem kinda sad or grumpy lately. Whether it's the grown-ups at the grocery store or the kids at school, there's just this feeling in the air that something isn't quite right. And you know what I think it is? We've all forgotten how to truly smile and be happy!I'm talking about that real, deep-down happiness that makes your heart feel like it's overflowing with sunshine and laughter. The kind of joy that spreads out from you like ripples in a pond and makes everyone around you can't help but grin too. We need more of that good stuff! So here's my big idea: a Worldwide Smiling Revolution! I'm gonna teach the entire planet how to rediscover their inner smile and share it with the world. Are you ready to join me? Let's go!Step 1: Smile Warm-UpsWe've all got smiles hiding inside us, but sometimes they get a little rusty from not being used enough. So the first step is to limber up those smile muscles through some daily smile exercises! Every morning when you wake up, spend five minutes going through this routine:Smile at yourself in the mirror (don't forget to switch it up with big cheesy grins, cute little smirks, and everything in between!)Think about something that makes you really happy and let your smile growSend a smile beamed straight from your heart out to the whole worldDoing this will get you in top smiling shape. You'll be an expert smile-athlete before you know it!Step 2: Random Smiles of KindnessNow that you're a highly trained smile master, it's time to start spreading those rays of sunshine wherever you go through random smiles of kindness. You never know whose day you might brighten! At school, gift a warm smile to the lunchroom worker serving your food. On the bus, flash a grin at the driver. While out shopping with your parents, beam some happy vibes at the cashier. The possibilities are endless! And you don't have to stop there. Why not put a smiley face sticky note somewhere to surprise someone? Leave an encouraging compliment for a friend? Do a silly dance that's sure to make others laugh? Get creative and make someone's day in your own special way.Step 3: Smile-Themed FunfestFor the big grand finale, I'm picturing the most awesome smile celebration this world has ever seen - a Smile-Themed Funfest! We'll gather everyone from all corners of the globe for the happiest, most joy-filled event of all time. Just imagine:Carnival games where you can win prizes by showing off your biggest, brightest smile. A smiling contest to see who can keep their happy face going all day long. A massive group "smile-lebration" where we all join together and spend 20 solid minutes beaming and cheering and radiating pure happiness into the world. There will be smiling lessons from the pros, smile-themed food like smiley face pizza and cookies, and a whole smileverse of smilerific activities I haven't even dreamed up yet! Best of all, the entire planet will get to share in this incredible experience of being completely, utterly, and blissfully happy all at once. Talk about world peace! So what do you think, guys? It's a pretty great idea, right? If we all work together and do our part to spread more smiles each day, I really believe we can make this happen. A worldwide smile revolution to make this a happier, sunnier world for everyone. Who's with me?!I may just be a kid, but I know that even the littlest people can dream up the biggest ideas. All it takes is believing in your vision, working hard, and never forgetting to keep smiling. If we follow those steps, our smiles can change everything.Okay, time for me to go practice my smiling exercises! I've got a whole world to help make happier. Join me in sharing those smiles, friends!篇5My Amazing Adventures in English LandHi there! My name is Emma and I'm 8 years old. I love learning English because it opens up a whole new world of fun and adventure for me. Let me tell you about my latest journey into English Land!It all started one day when I was practicing my English vocabulary words. I was saying them over and over - "apple, banana, carrot, dog..." Suddenly, the room started spinning around really fast! I got so dizzy that I fell right through the pages of my English book. The next thing I knew, I was in a totally different place. The sky was bright purple, the trees had talking fruits hanging from them, and little dog creatures were running all around yapping in English! I had landed smack dab in the middle of English Land."Woof woof! Hello young English learner!" one of the dogs yipped at me. "Welcome to our world!""Wow, this is so cool!" I exclaimed. "I can't believe I'm really in English Land. I've heard stories but I never thought I'd actually get to visit.""Well you're here now, so get ready for the adventure of a lifetime!" the dog replied. "I'm Rover and I'll be your guide. We're going to have so much fun practicing English together."And practice we did! Rover took me all over the different lands and kingdoms of English. We started in basic Vocabulary Village where everything was labeled so I could see and hear the words for all the different objects. The tree bark had "trunk" carved into it. The swingset said "swing" on every part. It was awesome! From there, we visited Sentence City where complete thoughts walked around as little people. I got to practice putting them in the right order and using capitals and periods. Some of the sentences were tiny and simple while others were hugerun-on blobs that needed to be split apart. After rearranging a few, I started getting the hang of it.Next up was the super silly Idiom Isle! This was my favorite part. All the common English idioms and expressions were brought to life in the most hilarious ways. Raining cats and dogs? You bet - furry little pets were pouring from the clouds! Whenpigs fly? Yup, there were winged hogs soaring through the sky. We played a game of "decode the idiom" where we had to guess the real meaning from the wacky literal scenes. I was cracking up the whole time. The Grammar Gardens were a little trickier to get through. Parts of speech were growing all over in the form of talking plants. Nouns, verbs, adjectives - they each had their own special garden. I had to go around and water the right ones to make complete sentences. If I mixed them up wrong, a buzzer would sound! I got stumped on distinguishing past, present and future verb tenses at first. But after a while, I figured out when to use words like "jumping" versus "jumped."Whew, I was getting tired from all that hard work! Good thing we took a break f or lunchtime at the café in Pronunciation Plaza. I got to hear how all the different sounds were supposed to be made and then practiced saying tongue-twisters like "selfish shellfish." No matter how many times I tried, that one got me every time! The waiters thought it was pretty hilarious to watch me stumble over the words. After lunch, we played multiple rounds of English Mad Libs. We'd pick a crazy story plot and then I'd have to fill in different word types to make it come alive in funny ways. Rover picked outthe most bananas tale of a elephant who loved to surf and eat spaghetti for breakfast. With the nouns, verbs and adjectives I chose, it turned into the wackiest story that had us both rolling on the ground laughing hysterically. As amazing as English Land was, I ultimately had to head back home. I gave Rover a big hug goodbye and thanked him for the incredible experience. With a spin of his leash, I was whirling back to reality. When I opened my eyes, I was sitting on my bedroom floor surrounded by my English books and materials. Had it all just been an incredibly vivid dream? No way! I was fully recharged and loved English more than ever before. Plus, I had clearly absorbed a ton just from my adventures because those vocabulary words and grammar concepts finally started to click. From that day on, English became one of my favorite subjects. I enjoyed practicing so I could take another virtual trip to that wonderfully weird place anytime I wanted. Who knows where my English skills will take me next? Maybe I'll wake up as the Queen of Conversation one morning. As long as I keep studying, the possibilities are endless! The next time I'm struggling, I'll just remind myself - if I can make it through English Land, I can make it through anything. The end!篇6My Awesome AdventuresHi there! My name is Timmy and I'm 8 years old. I go to Oakwood Elementary School and I'm in 3rd grade. My teacher Mrs. Robertson is really nice. She always gives us fun assignments and tells us awesome stories during circle time. Today I want to tell you about some of my most exciting adventures!Last summer, my family went on a big trip to Yellowstone National Park. We loaded up our camper and drove ALL the way from Ohio to Wyoming. It took forever! But it was worth it because Yellowstone is just about the coolest place on Earth. When we got there, the first thing we saw were these huge hot springs called the Grand Prismatic Spring. The water was bright blue and orange and red - so many crazy colors! My dad said it looked like a giant rainbow puddle. I wanted to go swimming in it but mom said it was way too hot and would burn me up. Bummer! Then we went to see the geysers. Geysers are likehonest-to-goodness real life volcanoes of water that shoot up into the air! The most famous one is called Old Faithful. We had to wait almost an hour, but finally Old Faithful went off, blasting scalding hot water like 100 feet into the sky. It was so awesome! I pretended I was a firefighter trying to put out a huge fire. Take that, flames! My very favorite part though was going on a hike to spot wildlife. We saw elk and bison and evenantelope just hanging out and munching on grass. But the best was when we saw a GIGANTIC grizzly bear lumbering along a trail up ahead. He was bigger than dad's truck! Our guide made us all be very quiet and freeze in place so we didn't disturb him. I've never been so still in my whole life. After what felt like forever, the bear just wandered off. Phew!Camping was great too. We built a campfire every night and roasted marshmallows for s'mores. One night we saw a dazzling meteor shower! Hundreds of shooting stars streaked across the sky. I wished I could catch one and keep it as a pet. Wouldn't that be awesome?! A blazing space rock following me around everywhere.I can't wait for our next big adventure. Going to Yellowstone was a a dream vacation for sure, but I've got my fingers crossed we can go to Hawaii next year and swim with dolphins! A kid can dream, right? Being on summer break and experiencing the great outdoors with my family is just the best.Well, that's about all I've got for my little storytelling session today. Thanks for reading, friends! This has been Timmy, lover of national parks, grizzly bears, and anything else that's crazy cool. Talk to you later!。

Many college students are struggling to find a job that matches their expectations and skills. In this essay, I will discuss the challenges that college students face when looking for a job and suggest some possible solutions. The first challenge that college students face when looking for a job is the lack of work experience. Many employers require applicants to have work experience, which is difficult for college students who have just graduated. In addition, the skills that college students have learned in school may not be directly applicable to the job market, making it difficult for them to find a job that matchestheir skills. The second challenge that college students face is the fierce competition in the job market. With so many college graduates entering the job market every year, the competition for jobs is extremely high. This means that college students need to have a competitive edge in order to stand out from the crowd. One possible solution to these challenges is for college students to gain work experience while still in school. This can be done through internships, part-time jobs, or volunteer work. By gaining work experience, college students can demonstrate to employers that they have the skills and abilities needed to succeed in the job market.Another solution is for college students to develop their skills and knowledge in areas that are in high demand in the job market. 2014“外研社杯”全国英语写作大赛决赛赛题Task 1 Narrative WritingRead the beginning of the letter below and then continue itfollowing the writer’s line of thought. Complete the letter in600–800 words.A Letter on Father’s DayDear Dad,Today I was at the shopping mall and I spent a lot of time readingthe Father’s Day cards. They all had a special message that insome way or another reflected how I feel about you. Yet as Iselected and read them over and over again, it occurred to methat not a single card said what I really want to say to you. You’ll soon be 84 years old, Dad, and you and I will have had 55Father’s Days together. You know, Dad, there was a time when we were not only separated by a generation gap but completely polarized by it. You stood on one side of the Great Divide and I on the other, split apart by age and experience, opinion, hairstyle, clothing, curfew, music, and friends.…I love you, Dad.Task 2 Argumentative WritingRead the following paragraphs with contradicting views, and decide which side you will take. You should clearly state your opinions and support them with arguments and/or examples. You should write about 800 words. The evening galas to be aired during the coming Spring Festival on national and regional TV stations are now drawing the attention of Chinese audiences. Many netizens commented that last year’s galas, from the China Central Television (CCTV) to local stations, went international. French film star Sophie Marceau and South Korean actor and singer Lee Min-ho were invited as guest performers to the CCTV’s Spring Festival Gala on New Year’s Eve, sparking a public controversy. Some people are excited about such famous foreign figures coming to China, and think that there is nothing wrong in inviting foreign stars to the Spring Festival evening galas, especially because a huge number of Chinese really do enjoy foreign celebrities, foreign music and exotic fashions since China started its reform and opening-up more than three decades ago. Some people, however, say it costs a lot more to invite foreign stars to a Chinese show. The money could be saved and used for nobler causes. They also think that a majority of the Spring Festival evening galas are put on for the grass-roots, farmers and workers for example. They ask: “Will these people be interested in foreign performers? There are plenty of stars they love here in China. Why don’t we bring them onto the stage?”2013年11月3日复赛赛题Task 1 Argumentative WritingTrying to decide between public school and homeschooling can be difficult. Read the following two paragraphs which present contradicting views. Write a passage about the issue, clearly stating your opinion and explaining your reasons. You should write about 500 words.Public schools provide children with many advantages both inside and outside the classroom. They generally have a range of children from a wide variety of backgrounds. This provides an opportunity for children to learn to negotiate with others, accepting and challenging other points of view, and learning to understand people with diverse backgrounds and values. The funding from the government allows public schools to offer an array of advanced classes in the arts, technology studies and the sciences, any and all of which might be difficult to provide by homeschooling parents who do not have specialized training. Public schools also expose students to a variety of teachers, which gives them an opportunity to learn from diverse pedagogies (教学方法).However, homeschooling also has benefits that can hardly be realized in public schools. One of the biggest advantages of homeschooling is the fact that the teacher, the parent, can give individual attention to the child. Homeschooled children often have abetter understanding of lessons and cover more materials than their peers. In a familiar setting, children are more likely to actively participate in their lessons. Because homeschooled children do not have set hours, they can work at their own pace at any point during the day. Moreover, homeschooled children do not grow up with the pressure of trying to be like everyone else in order to fit in, so they are not so easily influenced by their peers.Task 2Expository WritingWrite a passage based on the two bar charts below. The charts show the age groups of Chinese mobile netizens (网民) and the types of apps (应用程序) they download. In your writing, you should summarize the features of the two charts and make comparisons to examine whether there is any connection between them. You should write about 500 words.。
