很多语法书上都认为，quantity修饰名词时，谓语动词不是根据名词判断，而是看quantity 的形式，如果是a quantity of，动词就用第三人称单数，如果是quantities of，动词就用复数形式。
但是也有另外一种说法，就是quantity的主谓一致分三种情况：the quantity of 后面用单数a quantity of 后面的动词根据名词的单复数判断quantities of 后面的动词用复数。
a large quantity of 后接单数还是复数动词要根据前面的名词作判断---这一点比较统一the quantity of 不管后面是名词的复数形式还是不可数名词，都把主语当成一个主体，后接动词单数形式，这也是比较统一的认识。
但quantities of 后接动词的单数还是复数形式，不同语法书就有不同的认识。
有的认为不管怎样都用复数形式，有的认为quantities of +不可数名词+单数动词+ 复数名词+复数动词所以不好形式统一的认识。
但是赞成都用复数的人比较多。

主谓一致大致可归纳为三个原则，即语法一致、逻辑意义一致和就近一致。

2．由连接词and或both...and...连接起来的合成主语后面，谓语动词要用复数形式。
►Both she and he are middle school students.他和她都是中学生。
【注意】(1)若and所连接的两个词是指同一个人或事(物)时，主语后面的谓语动词就应用单数形式。
►The writer and artist has come.那个兼有作家和艺术家双重身份的人来了。
►To go to bed early and to rise early is a good habit.早睡早起是个好习惯。
(2)由and连接的并列单数主语前如果有no, each, every, more than a(an), many a(an)修饰时，其谓语动词要用单数形式。
►No boy and no girl likes it.男孩和女孩没有一个喜欢这个的。
与of有关的短语作主语的主谓一致
与of有关的短语作主语时的主谓一致1.“all/most/half/plenty/enough/some/the rest/the remainder等+ of”作主语的主谓一致：如果of后面的部分为复数形式，作主语时谓语动词用复数；如果of后面所接名词为单数，谓语动词用单数。
e.g. Half of the students are boys.The rest of the lecture is dull.The rest of the bicycles are on sale today.注意：上面这些词可以单独做主语，如果所指代意义为复数，谓语动词用复数形式，如果所指为单数意义，谓语动词用单数形式。
