行动研究弥补了商务英语研究中实验研究存在的不足。
教师是商务英语研究的行动者，教师只有善于驾驭“行动”，并在“行动”中进行“研究”，在教学实践中分析问题、解决问题，并不断反思，才能促进教与学和谐发展。
行动研究更是商务英语教师专业发展的有效途径。

1. 引言
行动研究近年已成为教师专业发展和课程发展的重要手段之一(Elliot，1991)。
商务英语作为一门交叉型(林添湖，1999)、应用型、复合型(张武保、严新生，2008)学科，其学科地位在1997年得以确立。
随后，全国国际商务英语研究会成立，商务英语研究在我国迅速发展起来。
30年来，商务英语领域共有2472篇学术论文得到发表(叶兴国等，2011)，研究内容涉及商务语言知识与技能、商务英语教学、ESP理论与研究、谈判、跨文化交际等方面。
国外学者对商务英语的定义、性质、范畴等进行了较为系统的研究，成果显著。
对Elsever Science Direct SSCI期刊数据库检索所得的18篇商务英语论文中，56%主题为商务英语教学研究，38.9%为商务英语语言研究，5.1%为商务英语教材研究。
关于商务英语行动研究的论文比较少，对商务英语进行行动研究仍有一定学术和应用空间。
2. 商务英语研究方法与行动研究
根据以上参量，商务英语研究方法也大致可分为“控制”、“测量”、“观测”、“询问/采取行动”四种类型。
与其它研究方法相比，实验法需要严格的干预和控制，其干预程度和选择程度最高。
与之对应的行动研究干预程度和选择程度最低，但行动研究完全可以看作是一种有学术价值的研究(宠继贤，1998)。
例如，在商务英语研究中，研究者可以使用实验法验证“浸泡式”商务英语教学法优于传统教学方法之假设。
研究者可将研究对象分成两组：对比组与实验组。
实验组使用“浸泡式”商务英语教学，让学习者浸泡在真实的商务英语语境中，以提高商务英语学习的兴趣和理解能力;对比组采用传统的语法翻译法教学。
对实验组进行干预，对对比组严格控制，这就是实验法。
经过一段时间运用测试方法对两组被试对象的商务英语学习状况进行测量，并用相应的统计方法对测试结果进行比较，检验两个结果之间的差异是否显著，便能验证上述假设。
实验研究有其客观性，但在商务英语研究中实验研究存在明显不足。
例如，商务英语教学是一个动态的、开放的过程，教学中有些现象或假设常常很难用实验方法来验证
与传统的实验研究相比，商务英语行动研究越来越受教师和研究人员的青睐。
“行动研究”最早由德国社会心理学家Kurt Lewin1946年在其论文《行动研究与少数民族的问题》中提出。
1949年Stephen Corey等人将行动研究的概念介绍到了教育领域;20世纪80年代语言教学界对行动研究越来越重视。
自90年代以来，行动研究与语言教师的发展紧密联系起来，大部分论述英语教师发展和英语教学的论著和论文对行动研究都有不同角度的论述(Wallace，2000)。
Rapport(1970)认为，行动研究是教育情境的参与者，为提高对所从事的社会或教育实践的'理性为加深对实践活动及其背景的理解进行的反思研究。
简言之，行动研究就是对教学实际中出现的问题，进行一定的干预或采某一行动。
然后观察其效果，以解决实际面临的亟待解决的问题。
这一过程具有“螺旋循环”上升的特点。
在研究者、实际工作者和其他工作人员共同合作下，在现实环境中发现问题并予以研究解决，从而提高实际工作中的行为质量(Wallace，1998)。
3. 商务英语行动研究步骤
Nunan(1993)曾以英语作为第二语言教学为例说明“行动研究”的六步骤：①确定问题;②初步调查;③提出假设;④干预;⑤结果;⑥报告。
Kemmis 和McTaggart(1982)认为行动研究的基本过程应包括计划—实施—观察—反思四个基本环节。
本研究以Nunan“行动研究”六步骤为框架，以《国际贸易实务(英)》为例，阐述商务英语“行动研究”具体方法：
① 确定问题
本学期本人承担了英语本科专业商务英语方向大三年级《国际贸易实务(英)》和《剑桥商务英语(高级)》两门课程教学任务，担任其中两个教学平行班级上述两门课程任课教师。
在讲授Export Price章节关于出口商品的报价时，作者发现，学生参与的积极性不高，且主动要求上台演示的学生非常有限。
这与《剑桥商务英语(高级)》全英技能课的课堂反应呈明显反差。
作者认为主要原因可能是文科学生对价格计算无兴趣所致。

为了加强教学互动，有利于学生对相关知识的输入与输出，作者认为，首先，大量陈列性提问方式不适合商务英语课堂，建议增加推论性问题的比重。
其次，可适当改变教学方法，对教学内容进行有效整合，剔除实操性不强的理论部分，以生活中的商务英语活动为实例，让枯燥的理论变成学生身边的实践活动。
经过反思，作者改进了教学方法，不再以Q&A形式为主要的互动形式，而改为由参加过广交会的同学上台模拟报价，老师指出问题，以点评的方式讲解教材内关于报价的主要方法。

对本行动研究过程，作者总结如下：
a. 经过初步调查与观察，发现商务英语教学的主要问题之一是学生对难度较高的商务英语课程不感兴趣。
我们从课程、学生、教师本身等方面收集有关的资料。
收集资料的方法包括自述与回忆、他人的参与观察、日志、各种检查表、问卷、访谈、录音和录像等。
b. 解剖问题、分析原因，初步提出假设：1)教师的教学方法过时;2)选择的教材难度太高;3)理论与实践脱节;4)学生目标不明确，学习自主性弱;5)学生对商务英语学习的意义认识不足;6)教师角色单一，课堂互动简单等。
c. 调查研究、验证假设：是否仅因为课程抽象学生对难度较高的商务英语课程不感兴趣，还是有讲授的原因或其它因素?教师需要通过观察、日志、提问、访问等途径去发现和验证假设。
d. 重新确认问题：1)商务英语专业术语太多，太抽象;2)商务英语课时太少，教师讲解内容多，进度太快，重点不突出;3)高年级学生忙于专八和其它考试或实习，无心学习抽象理论;4)教师授课方法单调，不以学生为中心，课堂互动少等。
f. 实施计划并根据情况调整计划。
g. 收集数据，通过分析、观察、反思，评价和总结实验效果。
h. 撰写行动研究报告或发表论文。
4. 结语
行动研究弥补了商务英语研究中实验研究存在的明显不足。
商务英语行动研究是一个不断反思、调整和行动的过程。
教师是商务英语研究的行动者，教师只有善于驾驭“行动”，并在“行动”中进行“研究”，在教学实践中分析问题、解决问题，并不断反思，才能促进教与学和谐发展。
行动研究更是商务英语教师专业发展的有效途径。
