Etiquette
As the story goes, Louis XIV’s gardener at Versailles was faced with a serious problem – he could not stop members of the nobility from trampling about it in delicate areas of the king’s garden. He finally attempted to dissuade their unwanted behaviour by posting signs called etiquets which warned them to “Keep off the grass”.

众所周知中国是礼仪之邦,中国人强调“孝”“忠”的观念,从座次就可以 很明显的表现出来。中国人强调尊老爱幼,因此, 座位的摆放很有规律,座 位不仅有上下等级之分,而且还有具体的座位排序。因此,从座次可以反应 出中国尊老爱幼,长幼有序,要 “有大有小” 不能“造次”的价值观。一 般座次是有主人来安排的,但是中国有这样一个习惯,就是不论主安排的有 多周到、多正确,客人都要礼让一番才肯就座。并不是他们不愿意接受这样 的安排, 而是由于讲礼仪、循礼法、崇礼教、重礼信、守礼仪、是中国人数 千年的传统。这也体现了中国人讲究“礼数”“循礼法”“重礼信”的价值 观, 以及谦虚的美德。
饮酒体现的不同价值观:
中国人喝酒一般是典型的集体主义,呼朋引伴,开怀畅饮, 在遇上喜庆节假时尤其如此。除非借酒消愁或者是嗜酒如命 ,否则很少见到单独饮酒作乐的,人们更倾向于制造饮酒的 气氛。
西方酒文化是个人主义,虽然也有群聚而饮,把酒狂欢,却 更注重个人对于酒的浅尝独酌;他们注重酒的多样化、个性 化。
西方国家体现的是,在工业社会中的现代文明的折射,刀叉 在运用的过程中反映的是分析哲学的思维。在具体使用的过 程中,用刀进行切,然后用叉将其夹住,最后才是送到口中 的过程,通过这样的一个过程就可以分析出,西方国家的思 维是在结构中建立自己的逻辑起点,在分析的基础上进行判 断,得出自己的结论,每个独立的工具所承担的是各自独立 的责任,完成的是分别的任务。
欧美国家就餐时主宾席通常安排座位时要尽量避免两位男宾或两位女宾并坐 在一起,男女夫妇分坐显示出了美式宴会的开放及活泼,希望能藉由宴席上 座次的安排来增进彼此间的熟稔,同时也可使用餐话题多样化、气氛和乐。 入坐则是客人先入坐,长者先于年轻人入坐,已婚者先于未婚者入坐, 陌生 人又先于熟识客人或家人入坐,这体现了西方国家提倡平等、自由、重视人 与人之间的交流以及“女士优先”的思想和价值观。

如果要给客人或长辈布 菜.最好用公筷.也可以把离 客人或长辈远的菜肴送到 他们跟前,按我们中华民族 的习惯.菜是一个一个往上 端的.如果同桌有领导,老人, 客人的话.每当上来一个新 菜时就请他们先动筷子.或 着轮流请他们先动筷子.以 表示对他们的重视.
吃到鱼头,鱼刺,骨头等 物时,不要往外面吐,也不 要往地上仍.要慢慢用手 拿到自己的碟子里,或放 在紧靠自己餐桌边或放 在事先准备好的纸上

不易收拾。
