英语专业八级考试写作部分测试要求
在专业八级考试中写作项目是全国高校英语专业学生8级考试(TEM8，2004年2月新版)的六大项目之一，它的分值占总分的20％。
这一项为主观试题，只有一个作文题目。
要求考生按题撰文。
这与原来大纲的要求有很大的不同。
修改后的大纲目的更加明确：测试考生能否按照大纲的规定，达到应有的写作水平。
《高校英语专业八级考试大纲》对专业八级英语的写作测试做出了规定：考生应能根据所给题目及要求撰写一篇400个单词左右的说明文或议论文。
与专业四级的写作要求相比，八级的作文长度增加了一倍多，时间为45分钟，而原来大纲的规定时间为60分钟，字数为300个词左右，而且要求语言通顺，用词得体，结构合理，文体恰当，并具有说服力。
该项目要求考生在规定的时间内根据提示写出400字左右的文章。
文章力求做到观点清楚、例证充分、结构严谨，层次清楚、合乎逻辑、语言得体、无重大语法错误。
400个单词左右的文章可以表达相当复杂的内容，考生必须要具备一定的写作训练，否则很难达到测试要求。

• TEM 8 写作的审题过程 • 所谓审题, 就是指写作前仔细阅读和分析写 作题目及相关信息, 以便正确理解题目的含 义, 了解题目的要求。题目给了什么样的条 件, 要求怎样完成, 这是审题应明确的两个问 • 题。正确审题是完成好写作任务的第一步。
• 根据《英语专业八级考试大纲》, TEM 8 写作试题由 “题目”与“要求”组成。其中“题目”部分通常 包括两个部分: 1) 背景引语; 2) 标题。有时候标题没 有给出, 需要考生自己拟定。这样, TEM 8 的写作试 题可视为由背景引语、标题和要求三个部分构成。 数年来, 由这三部分构成的题型已成为TEM 8 写作的 一个特色。它们相互联系, 构成了一个有机的整体。 考生在审题时应通读试题的全部内容, 仔细思考和 揣摩每一个部分的含义。只有这样, 才能真正明确 写作目的, 领会写作要求, 不偏不漏、不折不扣地按 要求去完成写作任务。下面, 将分别从这几个方面 来谈谈审题的基本做法。
• 试题的另一重要组成部分是标题。标题有时给 定, 有时需要自拟。自拟的标题是从自己的观 点中概括、提炼出来的, 不存在审题的问题。 给定标题的审读可以从以下几个方面入手: • 1) 分析并确定标题的语法结构和词语间的逻辑 关系, 如中心词、修饰语、词语的内涵和外延 等。应特别注意修饰和限定成分, 它们容易被 忽视, 而实际上它们往往又是关键词。
• 另外, 一些重要的信息和要求也包含在背景 中。因此, 忽略这一部分很容易产生审题错 误, 造成偏题和跑题。审题首先是这一背景 引语的审读。
• TEM 8 提供的写作背景引语包括设定情景和 提供观点两种类型。第一种类型设定了情 景, 规定了写作的主题范围, 介绍了主题的由 来和现状, 明确了写作对象的身份、立场、 任务等, 它 • 们往往决定了文章的形式(如书信)、文体、 人称、字数, 甚至是观点。审读情景时, 应抓 住这些信息, 并以此作为文章构思的基础。 1996 年TEM 8 写作试题的背景引语如下：

• 如2000年的写作标题为:“Education as a Lifelong Process”, 其中心词是education, as a lifelong process 是限定成分, 但lifelong却是 关键词。标题表达的是“教育的终身性” 这一观点。如忽视这一关键词, 仅仅将标题 的意义理解为“教育的重要性”, 就会造成 论述的偏颇。
