在我最早的记忆里,泡菜坛就搁在我父母卧室里梳妆台旁边的地板上。

睡觉前,老爸总是把口袋掏空,把硬币丢进坛子。

还是个小男孩的我,总是对硬币掉到坛子里发出的声音着迷。

坛子还空着时,它们会发出欢快的‘叮当’声;而坛子快满时,它们的声调就会逐渐衰减为沉闷的‘砰’声。

我常常蹲在坛子前的地板上,对这些圆圆的铜币、银币羡慕不已。

当阳光透过窗子洒进卧室,它们闪闪发光就像海盗的财宝一样。

泡菜坛装满后,老爸就坐在厨房的桌子旁把硬币卷起来,而后再把它们送到银行。

把硬币送到银行总是很忙活;先要把它们在硬纸盒里码齐,然后放在他那辆老卡车的座位上,一边坐着老爸,一边坐着我。

每一次我们开车去银行,老爸总是满怀希望地打量着我。

‘小子,这些硬币是不会让你进纺织厂干活的,你会比我强的多。

这座老纺织城是栓不住的。


同样,每一次在银行的柜台上,当他把装满卷好的硬币的纸盒子推给出纳员的时候,他总是自豪地笑着说;‘这是我儿子上大学的基金,他决不会像我一样在纺织厂干一辈子的。


每次存完钱,我们都会停下来买个冰激凌甜筒庆贺。
