如何在小学英语作业设计中落实三维目标自新课程实施以来,笔者发现许多小学英语教师通过深入钻研教材,努力创新课堂教学模式,改进教学方法和手段,使讲课内容丰富多彩,课堂气氛生动活泼,在课堂教学中形成了师生互动,学生平等参与的积极态势,课堂教学改革取得了可喜的成绩。
但是笔者同时也发现英语作业的改革却明显滞后,没能跟上新课改的节拍。
教师对作业设计不重视,作业布置简单化。
主要表现在以下方面:(1)许多教师对新课程背景下的学生作业缺乏正确的认识,认为英语作业就是抄单词、抄短语、课文翻译等基础知识操练。
作业的内容依然是以知识为主,以知识接受为中心,这类作业只注重基本知识和基本技能的训练,忽略了过程和方法,情感态度和价值观。
学生感觉机械而无趣,单调乏味。
(2)作业的形式过于单一,书面作业多,口头作业少,动手作业更少,作业完成方式强调独立性,限制了合作素质的培养。
(3)“题海战术”依然受到推崇。
许多老师青睐《新课程训练》之类的各种各样的一课四练、单元检测等大量单调的、盲目的、机械的、低效的作业。
既浪费了学生的时间,又影响了学生的身体健康,更违反了学生的认知规律、扼杀了学生的创新能力,当然是不适应新课改要求的。
如何使英语作业跟上新课改的节拍呢?笔者认为英语作业是课堂教学的延伸和补充,在新课程理念下,英语作业的功能和形式都发生了很大的变化。
它与课堂教学一样承担着落实三维目标的任务。
英语教师应该改变传统的作业设计观,以全新的小学英语课程标准为指导,重新对作业设计进行思想定位,按“知识与能力”、“过程与方法”、“情感态度与价值观”三个维度的目标,把作业设计当作课程设计的重要一环,提升作业的价值观。
一、知识与能力的融合作业中的“知识”,一方面指存在于学生心田之中的固有经验,另一方面是指学生对所学内容的深层次诠释和接纳。
“能力”指的则是学生灵活运用固有知识、运用旧知识去催生新知识的方式、方法及手段。
“知识与能力”的完美融合,使教师设计的作业题永葆青春活力。
例如水果、学习用品、家庭成员名称、家庭生活用品等等,都是生活中随处可见的。
学完这些单词后,我布置他们将这些物品归类,贴标签,如book,pen,table等。
为了美观,学生们用心书写单词,贴在各类物品(或图片)上,布置成一个个美丽的小房间、小文具店、小家具店等等。
这样既能帮助记忆单词,也能提高书写水平。
当然英语作业要灵活运用,可以要求学生用英语与家长交流,把课上所学的英语故事、地话、英语儿歌等说给家长听,还可以要求学生每天听录音并模仿、跟读二十分钟,并由家长签字,学生在听完录音后,将自己说的情况录下来,在教完一个单元后以抽签的方式抽查部分学生的录音带,并给予奖励。
大多数学生的表现欲都很强,都希望被抽到,在同学面前展示自己最佳水平。
这样,自然而然地提高了学生课后听录音、跟读英语的兴趣。
这样既达到练习的目的,也无形中教会了学生学习英语的方法,让学生在活动中记忆消化,进一步达到触类旁通、灵活运用的目的。
二、过程与方法的展示“过程与方法的展示”昭示着“学生做习题时,我们不仅仅关注结果,更主要的是要关注学生做题过程中的所作所为、所思所想,以及如何让学生做题的过程成为其艺术创造的过程”的理念。
1. 例如在学完6B Unit 6 Plans for the weekend一课后,我设计的“调查”作业就能很好地体现这一精髓。
我布置学生用What are you going to do this weekend ? I….句型调查同学们的周末活动,学生们以个人或小组为单位,通过完成调查任务、汇报交流调查结果等形式,既培养了交际能力,也锻炼了口头和笔头表达能力。
2.在学6A Unit 2《Ben`s birthday》一课时,我布置学生运用When`s your birthday ? 进行采访,并在班上制作全班同学的生日表。
这种类型的“采访”作业贴近生活,学生能运用所学的语言进行真实的交际,大大调动了他们说英语的积极性,沟通了同学之间的感情,提高了学生人际交往的能力。
3.“任务型教学”认为,要培养学生在真实环境中运用语言的能力就应该让学生在教学活动中参与和完成真实的生活任务。
教师还可以布置一些有关观察记录的作业,让学生留心观察生活。
而在英语越来越受重视的今天,越来越多的英语出现在我们生活周围,只要稍加留意,就可以发现许多英文商标、中英文广告、标牌,我让学生随时留意,布置他们自己去收集,摘抄。
学生兴趣盎然,反馈回来的作业十分丰富。
例如“CCTV(中央电视台),MADE IN CHINA(中国制造),YAHOO(雅虎),Crest(佳洁士牙膏)”等等。
而且我还推荐学生收看一些英语动画节目,如“小太阳俱乐部、芝麻英语”等,这样他们既欣赏了节目,又学到了英语,可谓一举两得。
通过这个作业,学生对自己能发现并学到这么多身边的英语而高兴。
如果用一个本子及时记录下来,长期积累,收获可观。
这样不但可以提高兴趣,增长知识,还能培养良好的习惯和自觉学习意识。
我要求他们将这些字母一个一个读出来,在反复地练习中,他们对字母的拼读就熟能生巧了。
另外一方面,他们发现,生活中英语无处不在,从而也进一步认识到了英语学习的重要性。
4. 在学完祈使句后,我要求学生为校园的各个场所制作英语警示牌。
在节假日,我要求学生自己动手制作贺卡,写上祝福送给同学,有意识地增益交际能力。
或者要求制作一张书签或画一张画,用学过的句型写上一段话,以此培养他们运用英语的能力,在假日里,可以布置学生制作英语小报,自制单词卡片等。
这些制作类的作业既培养了学生广泛的兴趣,增长了知识,又使他们积极主动地学习,为他们终身学习和发展打下良好的基础。
三、情感态度与价值观的体验“情感态度与价值观”的内涵,是教师设计题目的深远追求。
这样的习题对学生来说,不仅仅是做题,更重要的是做人!英语课程具有丰富的知识矿藏与深刻的人文内涵,对学生能力的形成和精神领域的影响是深广的。
作业设计应重视培养学生的品德修养和审美情趣,考虑到作业的人文性,让学生在完成作业时,既能增长知识、开阔视野,又能培养能力,陶冶情操,促进学生智力、技能和情感三维目标的发展。
1.传统作业大多围绕教学大纲设计,很少兼顾学生的个性发展和兴趣特长。
依据“多元智能”理论,我们在设计作业时,应尊重学生的个体差异,设置个性化作业。
比如:让爱好表演的学生根据课文内容自编英语课本剧,在练习英语口语的同时发挥其表演能力;让有美术特长的学生根据所学的内容自制英语单词卡片,以此来复习单词及相关句型;让喜欢音乐的学生对所学的英文歌曲进行“模仿秀”活动,并对这些歌曲进行简单的创作套用,巩固课本知识。
根据不同的兴趣爱好设计各异的作业,能让学生从中体会到英语的乐趣和成功的喜悦。
在学习过程中有情感的投入,有内在动力的支持,就能从学习中获得积极的情感体验,有利于再学习。
2. 英语作业的设计如果仅限于书面抄写,背诵单词、句型、课文,则失去了英语作为交际的作用,学生对这种单一枯燥的作业毫无兴趣,这样,不仅浪费学生的时间,也增加教师的工作量,而且这样的作业也没有实际的意义。
因此我们的作业设计应遵循“生活既是教育”这一理念,把作业生活化。
学了5A Unit 9Shapes,E、Read and act是关于兄妹俩讨论如何为祖父母制作新年贺卡的对话,我鼓励学生为同学、老师、长辈制作一张小贺卡,送上一句祝福的英语,献给对你帮助最大的人。
还可以要求学生每天对周围的人用英语说一句问候语,或说一说、写一写每天的天气、日期等等。
又比如,在教完6B Unit 3 Asking the way这一课后,可要求学生自选地点,自画地图,演一演问路的场景,以此来复习本课句型。
新课程要求学生的合作精神与能力也是重要的培养目标之一。
因此在设计作业时可让多个学生共同完成,加强合作,学得快的同学主动帮助需要帮助的同学,学生课后可自由组合,相互帮助,共同表演对话。
3.在设计作业时还要考虑到成功激励教育的原则,让进步最大的或完成最好的同学有减免的机会,制定合理有效的奖励机制来鼓励学生完成高质量的作业,通过免做作业,让学有余力的学生有充足的时间,学习更深更多的英语课外知识,扩大学生的阅读量。
教师对于作业可通过自评、互评、总评的方式,建立自主民主的评价体系。
当然,英语作业设计能力不是一蹴而就的,如同课堂教学改革一样,英语作业的改革也要经历艰难的过程。
但是教师的作业观一定要转变到落实三维目标上来,确保作业与课堂教学改革同步。
牛津英语书上的学生作业设计,都是按照新课程的要求安排的,较好的体现了新课程理念,我们可以有效地利用,认真地学习借鉴。
相信经过坚持不懈的实践,老师们对新课程理念下的作业会有更全面的认识,作业的设计能力会有大幅度的提高。
那时,学生作业将更加符合新课程理念、更加突出科学精神和人文精神,英语作业将真正成为落实三维目标的最重要和最有效的活动之一。
