I think that the main reason why we can’t find proper ways to improveபைடு நூலகம்the education system that no longer serves us well is simply fear. 那么why we can’t find proper ways to improve the education system that no longer serves us well为修饰reason的定语从句,that no longer serves us well又是修饰system的定语从句。 I think that the main reason is simply fear,而原因为we can’t find proper ways to improve the education system that no longer serves us well。

They are listening ,speaking ,reading and writing. The most important thing you must remember is that if you want to improve your speaking and writing skills you should first master the skills of reading and listening.Read as much as you can. But your reading must be active. It means that you must think about the meaning of the sentences ,the meaning of the unfamiliar words ,etc. There is no need for you to pay much attention to grammar---or try to understand all the unfamiliar words you come across, but the fact you see them for the first time and recognize them whenever you see them, for example in other passages or books, is enough. It would be better to prepare yourself a notebook so you can write down the important words or sentences in it.As for listening, there are two choices: besides reading ,you can listen every day for about 30 minutes. You can only pay attention to your reading and become skillful at your reading ,then yo u can catch up on your listening. Since you have lots of inputs(输入) in your mind, you can easily guess what the speaker is going to say. This never means that you should not practice listening .For listening you can listen to cartoons or some movies that are specially made for children. Their languages are easy. Or if you are good at listening, you can listen to VOA or BBC programs every day. Again the thing to remember is being active in listening and preferably(更好地) taking some notes. If you follow these pieces of advice , your speaking a nd writing will improve automatically(自动地),and you can be sure that with a little effort they will become perfect. 24.According to the author , which should you improve first among the four skills?_______ A.Reading and listening B.Reading and writingC.Writing and speaking D.Speaking and listening25.To improve your reading, when you read you should ____.A.look up all the new words in the dictionary.B.think about what you are reading activelyC.spend more time studying grammarD.copy as many words and sentences as possible26.The underlined words “come across” in paragraph3 probably be replaced by_____A.meet by accident B.discover C.find on purpose D.look for 27.The author seems to agree with the view that _____A.everyone should listen to VOA or BBC programs every dayB.you needn’t practice listening if you keep in reading every dayC.being good at reading is helpful in improving your listeningD.you should take notes of whatever you are hearingDNot long ago, a rock band called the Backstreet Boys made a big splash on the music scene. Young people everywhere loved their songs. One of the band’s biggest fans was a young boy named Aaron Carter. Aaron had a special reason for taking such an interest in the band. Nick Carter, one of the Backstreet Boys, was Aaron’s big brother .Even before Nick joined the band in 1996,Aaron loved music. From the age oftwo ,Aaron spent most of his time listening to the radio. He sang along with his favorite son gs. He made up dances to go with them. So Aaron’s family wasn’t surprised when Aaron decided to follow Nick into the music world.Aaron got off to a fast start. At the age of seven, he joined a band in his hometown of Tampa, Florida. But after two years, A aron didn’t want to be part of the band anymore. He wanted to sing alone. Soon Brother Nick gave Aaron a helping hand. During a Backstreet Boys show in Germany, Aaron sang a song. He did an amazing job! After the show, someone from a record company asked Aaron to make an album. Of course, Aaron said yes.Since that day, Aaron has made lots of songs that sell well. His songs include “Crush on You” and “I’m Gonna Miss You Forever”Aaron has worked hard to become a successful singer. But he never forgets how his brother gave him his start. The road to success of a singerC. The secret of success of a bandD. The way to be a singerEBike riding is a lot of fun, but accidents happen. The safest way to use your bike is for transportation, not play. Every year, about 300,000 kids go to the emergency department because of bike injuries, and at least 10,000kids have injuries that require a few days in the hospital. Some of these injuries are so serious that children die, usually from head injuries.A head injury can mean brain injury. That’s why it’s so important to wear your bike helmet(头盔).Wearing one doesn’t mean you can be reckless(不顾危险的),but a helmet will provide some protection for your face ,head , and brain in case you fall down. Your bike helmet should fit you properly. You shouldn’t buy it too small or too big. Never wear a hat under your bike helmet. If you are unsure if your helmet fits you well, ask someone at a bike store.Wearing bright clothes also can help you stay safe. It helps other people on the roadsee you. And if they see you, that means they are less likely to run into you. Daytime riding is the safest so try to avoid riding your bike at dusk and later. But avoid wearing headphones because the music can distract(使…分心)you from noises around you, such as a car blowing its horn(喇叭)so you can get out of the way.You need to check with your mom and dad about where you’re allowed to ride your bike. You need to know how far you’re a llowed to go and whether you should ride on the sidewalk or in the street. Kids younger than 10 years should ride on the sidewalk and avoid the street. No matter where you ride ,you need to keep an eye out for cars and trucks. Even if you’re just riding on the sidewalk ,a car may pull out of its driveway into the path of your bike. If you are crossing a busy road ,it’s best to walk your bike across the street.28.It can inferred from the first paragraph that _____A. safety is the first when riding a bikeB .riding a bike is for its use not for funC. bike accidents are common every yearD. children are forbidden to ride a bike29.To ensure safety, when riding a bike we should _______A. wear a hat and a bike helmetB. watch out for cars and trucksC. wear dark coats in the eveningD. cross the crowded streets quickly30.Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?_______A. The safest way is to put something on your bikeB. Riding on the sidewalk keeps you out of dangerC. Wearing a bike helmet still needs keeping carefulD. About the size of a microwave oven, it’s pedestrian-friendly, too, waiting for book lovers next to a sidewalk in Palm Beach Country Estates, along the northern boundary of Palm Beach Gardens. It’s a library built with love.A year ago, shortly after Janey Henriksen saw a Brian Williams report about the Little Free Library organization, a Wisconsin-based nonprofit that aims to promote literacy and build a sense of community in a neighborhood by making books freely available, she announced to her family of four, “That’s what we’re going to do for our spring break!”Son Austin, now a 10th-grader, didn’t see the point of building a library that resembles a mailbox. But Janey insisted, and husband Peter unwillingly got to work. The 51-year-old owner of a ship supply company modified a small wooden house that he’d built years e arlier for daughter Abbie’s toy horses, and made a door of glass. After adding the library’s final touches (装点), the family hung a signboard on the front, instructing users to “take a book, return a book,” and making the Henriksen library, now one of several hundred like it nationwide and among more than 2,500 in the world, the only Little Free Library in Palm Beach County. They stocked it with 20 or so books they’d already read, a mix of science fiction, reference titles, novels and kids’ favorites. “I tol d them, keep in mind that you might not see it again,” said Janey, a stay-at-home mom.Since then, the collection keeps replenishing (补充) itself, thanks to ongoing donations from borrowers. It’s one of the most popularanimals in the world and a real symbol of China. We learned that pandasmainly live on bamboo, and that a panda can eat half its body weight ofbamboo in 24 hours! Pandas are already a rare animal and it would be so sad if they became extinct (灭绝) forever. The other animal we should try to protect more is the Chinese alligator(扬子鳄). These creatures live in some parts of eastern China. Thesebeautiful animals live in freshwater rivers and lakes but the water in someplaces isn’t clean enough for them to live in. It’s really dirty in fact. Thegovernment should stop factories polluting the lakes and rivers. If we protect these beautiful animals in China, more people may wish to visit China to see them. They could be an important tourist attraction. It would be good if more people came tovisit our beautiful country, especially to see the quieter areas in the country. Now mostvisitors just see the cities.I hope you will encourage more people to think about such an important subject.Sincerely yours,Huang Jing93.
