"I don't know yet." Dick answered. "Please send me your address from there in a telegram," his wife said. "All right," Dick answered.

He flew to New York on January 31st and found a nice hotel in the center of the city. He put his things in his room and then he sent his wife a telegram. He put the address of his hotel in it.

In the morning, we went camping along a path in Green Natural Park. We were happy because it was a sunny day. We were expecting an enjoyable

two - day holiday. On the way, we kept singing and making jokes. However, in the afternoon, when we finished our picnic at one o’clock, it was dark and windy. Soon, there was a shower. Unluckily, none of us brought an umbrella. We ran about but we could find no place to hide. Twenty minutes passe d and it was still raining. There were hours to go before we reached the camp site (营地). It was even worse that our small compass showed that we went to the wrong way. We had lost our way!

We had to make a quick decision as it was raining heavily. Chris said we could set up a tent to hide in, so Mary and Tom helped to set up the tent. Chris and I tried to make a fire to keep us warm. But we were unable to light the fire, as everything was wet. We dried ourselves, chatted and waited inside the tent. At about five o’clock, it stopped raining. We decide to give up the camping trip because all of us had been very tired. This camping trip may not be very successful but we know each other better. And the most important thing I’ve learned from this trip is the importance of team spirit.

The world itself is becoming much smaller by using modern traffic and modern communication means. Life today is much easier than it was hundreds of years ago, but it has brought new problems. One of the biggest is pollution. To pollute means to make things dirty. Pollution comes in many ways. We see it, smell it, drink it and even hear it.

Man has been polluting the earth. The more people, the more pollution. Many years ago, the problem was not so serious because there were not so many people. When the land was used up or the river was dirty in one place, many moved to another place. But this is no longer true. Man is now slowly polluting the whole world.

Air pollution is still the most serious. It’s bad for all living things in the world, but it is not the only one kind of pollution. Water pollution kills our fish and pollutes our drinking water. Noise pollution makes us angry more easily.

Many countries are making rules to fight pollution. They stop people from burning coal (煤) in houses and factories in the city, and from putting dirty smoke into the air.

Pollution by SO2 is now the most dangerous kind of air pollution. It is caused by heavy traffic. If there are less people who drive, we will make

our world less polluted.

The earth is our home. We must take care of it. That means keeping the land, water and air clean. And we must take care of the rise in population at the same time.

There have been many6 great inventions that have changed the way we

live. the fir st great invention was one that is still very important today -the wheel. This made it easier to carry heavy things and to travel long distances. For hundreds of years after that, there were few inventions that had as much effect as the wheel did.

In the second half of the 19th century, many great inventions were made. among them were the camera, the light and the radio. These are all a big part of our lives today. In the first half of the 20th century, we saw more great inventions. For example, the helicopter in 1909, movies with sound in 1926, the computer in 1928, and jet planes in 1930. This was also a time when a new material was first made. Nylon was made in 1935. It changed the kinds of clothes people wore.

By this time, most people had a very good life. People had a desire to explore the world again. People knew a lot about the earth, but they didn’t know much about the universe. They began looking for ways to go into space. Russia made the first step. Then the United States took the second step. Since then other countries, including China and Japan have done so too.

In 1969, man took his biggest step from the earth. Two Americans walked on the moon. This is certainly just the beginning, too. New inventions will some day allow us to do things we have never yet dreamed of.

One day a man found a cocoon (茧) of a butterfly in the forest. He sat there for several hours and watched the butterfly. Suddenly a small hole appeared, and the butterfly tries to make its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it could not go on coming out.

So the man de cided to help the butterfly. He cut off the rest of the cocoon so that the butterfly could come out easily. But to his surprise, the butterfly got a heavy body and very small wings when it came out of the cocoon.

The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that the body would grow smaller at any moment and the wings would become larger and be able to fly. But neither happened! In fact, the butterfly

spent the rest of its life crawling (爬) around with a heavy body and small wings. It was never able to fly.

The man was in his kindness, but he did not understand the nature rules. Before the butterfly came out of the cocoon, fluid (流体) from its body must be made into its wings, and then it would be ready for flying. It must have a hard struggle (拼搏) to get through the small opening to get its freedom (自由) from the cocoon.

If God allowed us to go through our life without any difficulties, it would make us fail. We would not be as strong as we could have been; we could never “fly” in our lif e.

You need 3D glasses to see some films. I think it is easy to make your own 3D glasses instead of buying them.

There are two ways to make 3D glasses. You can decide which way would be easier for you.

The first way seems like the cheaper way but the things needed to make the glasses this way may not be things laying around the house. First print out (打印) a template (模板) for the glasses in http // paperprojext. org / PDF - files / 3dglasses. pdf.

After you cut out the template, cut your cellophane (玻璃纸) to fit the holes in the glasses. Make sure you place the red cellophane on the left eye and the blue on the right. You can either stick our tape t he cellophane in place. You are now ready to use your glasses.

To learn more about why your eyes see different colors, read this article: To learn more about why your eyes see different colors, read this article: http: // nzphoto. tripod. com / sterea / anahpyphs. hitm JHJredcyan.

To learn some more cool things about your eyes, check out the games at this link:

Another way you can make 3D glasses is to find an old pair of sunglasses. Take out the lenses (镜片). Get a piece of clear plastic and place the lenses on it, draw a line around the lens and then cut the new plastic lens out. Place the plastic lenses back into the sunglasses frame. Color the left lenses red with a marker and the right eye blue. You now are ready to watch 3D films.

When the car "sees" an obstacle(障碍物), it sends this information to a data center and receives instructions, However, it will be some time before it sends and receives this information. With this kind of lag, the cars might crash because they don't receive instructions in time. With 5G, this lag will be greatly lowered, making the cars safer. 5G could also be used to power the internet of things (IoT), that is, a large online network that connects all things and people. Fast internet speeds will be the key to developing this technology. The IoT could be used in a lot of ways. For example, with IoT, your refrigerator could automatically (自动地) place an order online for eggs when it finds that there are no eggs left inside. (1)Which city was 5G tested for the first time? A. Beijing. B. Shanghai. C. Shenzhen. (2)What can we infer(推测) according to the passage?. A. 5G is widely used in China now. B. 5G networks will make our lives more convenient. C.
