2、 whether / if 引导的宾语从句
( 1 ) 可用 whether / if 的情况 whether / if 引导 从句的从句大多由一般疑问句作直接引语变化而来。 常放在 ask , care , wonder , find out 等后引导从句。 whether/if 在从 句中不作成分 但含有 " 是否 ” 之义 , 在句中不可省略。 eg: I asked them whether/if they would win the match. 我问他们能否赢得这场比赛 。

若主句是一般过去时,从句必须用过去时态中的某一 种。 I knew she had swept the floor already. He asked if I was doing my homework this time yesterday.
若从句叙述的是客观真理、自然现象或永恒不变的规 律时,则不受主句时态的限制,仍用一般现在时。 Our teacher told us light travels much faster than sound. They knew the sun is much bigger than the earth then.
宾语从句
宾语从句是一种名词性从句,在句中 作及物动词的宾语,介词的宾语,或 形容词的宾语。

由特殊疑问词引导的宾语从句常可以转换为“特殊疑问词 +to do”结构的简单句。如:

5.只能用that引导的定语从句
(1)当先行词是不定代词all, little, few, much, any, anything, everything, nothing, none或先行词被all, little, few, much, any, every, no等修饰时。如:
I have nothing that is worth reading.我没有什么值得一读 的东西。
(2)先行词被序数词或形容词最高级以及the only, the very, the last 等修饰时。如:
This is the very pen that I am looking for. 这正是我找的 钢笔。
