Pre–reading

1.Enjoy a short vedio about ghost story (3 min )

2.Asking the Ss : Do you bolieve that there is ghost in the world ? Why or why not?(with some pictures of ghost) Have you ever heard of ghost stories?Could you tell us a ghost story?(5 min)

3.Skimming the material : what’s the material talking about? Scanning the material: how mant ghosts are talked about?

(2 min)

While-reading

1.Let the Ss read the material carefully and find out the difficult words or phrases or the difficult points. Then the

teacher explains them(15 min )

2.Reading the material again and giving the main idea of each paragraph (8 min )

3.Some True or False questions: (5 min )

A young sailor killed a boy because he is mad.( )

After-reading

1.Make the Ss into several groups and exchange their ideas about the story. Then retell the story(3 min )
