• 大篆是西周时期普遍采用的字体，相传为 夏朝伯益所创。针对不同的书写媒介，大 篆亦有金文（或称“钟鼎文”）、籀文之 别。

• 小篆是在秦始皇统一中国后（前221年），推行 “书同文，车同轨”，统一度量衡的政策，由宰 相李斯负责，在秦国原来使用的大篆籀文的基础 上，进行简化，取消其他六国的异体字，创制的 统一文字汉字书写形式。一直在中国流行到西汉 末年（约公元8年），才逐渐被隶书所取代。但由 于其字体优美，始终被书法家所青睐。又因为其 笔画复杂，形式奇古，而且可以随意添加曲折， 印章刻制上，尤其是需要防伪的官方印章，一直 采用篆书，直到封建王朝覆灭，近代新防伪技术 出现。
• 宋体为什么有这些特点？当然是因为印刷的需要了。在雕版印刷繁荣的宋代，雕刻制 版大多用木版，也就是说用长方形的木板雕刻制版。木板上都有纹路，制版一般都是 横向，这样刻制字的横向线条和木纹一致，比较结实；而刻制字的竖向线条时和木纹 交叉，容易断裂。因此字体的竖向线条较粗，横向较细。横向线条即使比较结实，在 端点也容易磨损，因此端点也较粗。横平竖直，当然为为了雕刻制版的刀工方便刻制 了。雕刻制版是一个非常费事的工作，如果要表现手写体的那些特点，则刻字必然比 横平竖直要大得多，这点大家做个简单的实验就知道，windows的记事本中输入或粘贴 一段汉字，分别把字体设置为宋体9号和楷体9号，看看哪个更容易看就知道了。由于 木板的纹路，要雕刻变化多端的曲线难度也会更大。而且每张木板只能印刷两页，一 本书就要雕刻很多木板。如果字刻得太大，不但雕工费事费力，木板也会用得更多， 所以在木板上雕刻的字不会太大。而要在这么小的反刻字上表现出手写体那些变化多 端，圆润细腻的特点难度大家可想而知，横平竖直当然是最好的选择。由上可以看出， 宋体的这些特点无一不是因印刷而产生，适应了印刷的需要，跟毛笔的手写体是大不 相同。 后来人们又模仿宋体字的结构、笔意，改成笔画粗细一致、秀丽狭长的印刷 字体，这就是仿宋体。

• 隶书，亦称汉隶，是汉字中常见的一种庄 重的字体，书写效果略微宽扁，横画长而 直画短，呈长方形状，讲究“蚕头雁尾”、 “一波三折”。隶书起源于秦朝，由程邈 形理而成，在东汉时期达到顶峰，书法界 有“汉隶唐楷”之称。

• 汉字的一种书体,特点是结构简省、笔画连 绵。形成于汉代，是为书写简便在隶书基 础上演变出来的。有章草、今草、狂草之 分。

• 宋体，是在中国宋朝发明的一种汉字印刷 字体。笔画有粗细变化，而且一般是横细 竖粗，末端有装饰部分（即“字脚”或 “衬线”），点、撇、捺、钩等笔画有尖 端，属于白体，常用于书籍、杂志、报纸 印刷的正文排版。因从明朝传入日本，而 又称为明体、明朝体。

• 印刷字体的一种，仿照宋版书上所刻的字体，笔画粗细均匀，有长、方、扁三体。也 叫仿宋体，仿宋字。 这要牵涉到另一个字体——宋体。宋体的特点是什么？横平而 竖直，横笔细而竖笔很粗，还有每一笔的端点也较粗，这些不是用毛笔的手写体的特 点。

甲骨文和金文一、甲骨文甲骨文及其分期我国目前考古发现最早的成文资料，始于商朝。
商朝的文字资料，有陶文、玉石文、金文和甲骨文几种。
其中以甲骨文最为重要，而且数量最为繁多。
甲是龟甲，有龟腹甲、龟背甲，腹甲较多，背甲较少。
骨是兽骨，主要是牛骨，也可能有少量的马骨、猪骨、鹿骨、虎骨及象骨。
骨多用肩肿骨，间有肋骨和距骨。
也有少量的牛头骨、鹿头骨和人头骨刻辞。
《礼记·表记》说：“殷人尊神，率民以事神，先鬼而后礼。
”殷人尚鬼，遇事好占卜。
占卜后便记录下来。
记录有写有刻，于甲骨之上或用朱书，亦有墨书；有的先写后刻，有的不写而直接刻写；还有的将文字涂以朱砂或涂墨；也有的镶嵌松绿石，这就是所谓卜辞。
甲骨文绝大多数皆为卜辞，间或也有与占卜有关的一些记事文字。
甲骨学是以这种甲骨文字为研究对象未对甲骨文字本身，并进而对商代的社会历史各方面进行研究的一门学科。
甲骨文出上在河南安阳殷虚以及附近地区，其中以小屯村出土为最多。
在附近的侯家庄、大司空村、铁路苗圃、后岗、四盘磨、高楼庄等地也出土过几片乃至几十片。
甲骨文是商代后半期，也就是盘庚迁殷至纣辛亡国八世十二王二百七十三年（约公元前1395—1122 年）间商朝后半期所谓殷代的遗物。
甲骨文还可以细分为不同的时期。
目前各家的分期方法还没有达到统一的意见。
普通仍以五期分期法为妥，即第一期包括盘庚、小辛、小乙、武丁，第二期祖庚、祖甲，第三期廪辛、康丁，第四期武乙、文丁，第五期帝乙、帝辛。
甲骨文中的卜辞《尚书·多士》说：“惟殷先人，有册有典。
”册，简也，典从册，在艹上，象两手供俸之形。
《墨子·鲁问》有“书之于竹帛，镂之于金石，以为铭于钟鼎。
”甲骨文并非商代的典册，亦非竹帛金石的文字，乃是占卜及与占卜有关或者偶然的记事文字。
商代占卜所用大龟为南海种。
腹甲整用，背甲则中剖用之。
还有的改造成长圆形，中间有孔可以穿起。
用甲骨时切去骨臼的突头，再将骨脊剖平、整治后的甲骨占卜时，即在其背面，个别胛骨在正面进行有规律的钻凿，先凿一长槽，旁边再钻一略小的圆穴。

他“生于斯，葬于斯”，故造书台北有仓颉陵墓。
他所处的年代约为公元前26世纪。
据此推测，四、五千年前，我国的文字就比较成熟了。

楷书在发明当时被称为“真书”，后人因为以这种字体作为学习书法的楷模，即改称为今天的“楷书”。
草书：草书的演变过程，自应是先有“章草”，而后又有“今草”，再又有“狂草”等草体。
草书满足了书写快捷和书写者抒发胸臆、寄情笔端的需要，流动顺畅，一气呵成，极具有韵律和艺术感染力。
行书:是介于现代草和楷书之间的字体。
它始于楷书出现之后，兴盛于魏晋，流行于两晋。

3. 大篆：大篆是西周晚期的一种文字，形体与金文大体一致，具有笔画繁多的特点。
在原有文字的基础上进行了改革，因刻于石鼓上而得名，是流传至今最早的刻石文字。
4. 小篆：小篆是秦代的统一字体，经过整理、简化，所以异体字大量减少，且字形呈长方，奠定了汉字“方块形”的基础。
因为小篆在大篆的基础上简化而成，一般说小篆是大篆的简体。
5. 隶书：隶书产生于秦代，盛行于汉代。
为了便于书写，隶书将小篆圆转均匀的线条变成了方折平直、粗细有致的笔画；隶书对汉字字体的改变是巨大的，因此，“隶变”就成了古今汉字的分界。
6. 草书：草书是秦隶的草化、连笔而成。
始于汉初，当时通用的是“草隶”，即潦草的隶书，后来逐渐发展，形成一种具有艺术价值的“章草”。
汉末，张芝变革“章草”为“今草”，字的体势一笔而成。
唐代张旭、怀素又发展为笔势连绵回绕，字形变化繁多，称为“狂草”。
7. 楷书：楷书产生于汉末，盛行于魏、晋、南北朝时期，成熟于唐代，一直沿用至今。
它完全清除了隶书中残存的小篆的影响，形成了完善的笔画系统。
8. 行书：行书是楷书的快写体，介于草、楷之间，可以说是楷书的草化。
它是为了弥补楷书的书写速度太慢和草书的难于辨认而产生的。
综上所述：汉字经过六千多年的变化，发展成七种不同的结体方式。
