孔子是一个平民，他的名声和学说已经传了十几，读书的人仍然崇他为宗师。

全句可译为”庆历四年的春季，滕子京被贬到巴陵郡做太守补充法古代汉语中有很多省略现象，翻译时应补出省略的成份。
例如项伯乃夜驰之沛公军，私见张良，具告（之）以事。
（《鸿门宴》）动词”告的后边省略了代词”之，全句可译为”项伯于是连夜骑马奔驰到刘邦的军营，把事情全都告诉了他。
删除法删去不译的词。
例如鹏之徙于南冥也，水击三千。

国学经典著作《荀⼦》全⽂·注解及译⽂（王制篇）《荀⼦》是战国末年著名唯物主义思想家荀况的著作。
该书旨在总结当时学术界的百家争鸣和⾃⼰的学术思想，反映唯物主义⾃然观、认识论思想以及荀况的伦理、政治和经济思想。
荀⼦王制【原⽂】请问为政？⽈：贤能不待次⽽举，罢不能不待须⽽废〔1〕，元恶〔2〕不待教⽽诛，中庸民不待政⽽化。
分未定也则有昭缪〔3〕。
虽王公⼠⼤夫之⼦孙也，不能属于〔4〕礼义，则归之庶⼈。

即使是平民的⼦孙，如果积累了⽂化知识，端正了⾏为，能合乎礼义，就把他们归⼊卿相⼠⼤夫。
对于那些散布邪恶⾔论、⿎吹邪恶学说、从事邪恶⾏为、具备邪恶本领、四处流窜⽽不守本分的⼈，就强制劳役进⾏教育，静待他们转变；⽤奖赏去激励他们，⽤刑罚去惩处他们；安⼼⼯作的就留⽤，不安⼼⼯作的就流放出去。
