学生在小学和七年级已经积累了许多关于食品的词汇，食品制作的流程语言已经驾轻就熟，本年龄段的学生对美食有着浓厚的兴趣，为本节课的顺利进行做了很好的铺垫。
课堂效果分析通过这节课的学习，学生在充分了解了西方国家感恩节的由来和火鸡的制作过程。
并能够在实际语言环境中进行交际和运用，整堂课气氛活跃，学生积极参与，深层思维。
在情感方面，学生在学习中，潜移默化，自然而然地学会了感恩同学、家人，老师和他人。
最后学生高质量的语言输出表明了这是一堂成功的阅读课。
于老师在本课中使用了微视频：Camtasia Recorder Document ；视频文件：.wmv；声音文件：mp3等各种形式向全市英语教师展示了一堂生动地英文阅读课。
课前5分钟播放英文歌曲：Let’s give thanks 让学生感知本节课要学习和内容，渲染气氛，引发学生兴趣，为开始上课做好铺垫。
在阅读火鸡的制作过程环节，我采取提前录制火鸡制作的微视频，让学生观看，微视频直观形象，不仅弱化了教学难度，而且微视频的真实情景使学生易于接受而且观看的兴趣浓厚。
通过感恩图片和动人音乐的播放设置烘托气氛，让学生感受感恩的氛围，启发学生思路，让学生明白要感恩谁？为什么，并起到深化主题的作用，音乐和图片以及学生的优美朗读把整节课推到高潮。
播放学生小组合作制作的世界各地节日和美食的海报视频，为学生的写作搭好脚手架四人一小组围坐在一起上课，边学习边讨论。
于老师把课堂交给了学生，大大提高了学生学习的自主性，充分体现了以学生为主体的教学思路。
本节课通过这种形式的学习，也进一步证明了发挥学生主动性，自主性的重要性。
通过retell 环节让每个成员必须都参与，抽签回答问题，作文展示共同参与，课后poster 小组成员必须都参加制作....等环节鼓励4号同学参与进来，在上课中也收到了很好的效果。
特别是在你想感恩谁的环节中，4号同学隋宝毅说要感谢我，帮助他喜欢上了英语。
