ThreepassionsinmylifeThree passions in my lifeThree passions, indispensable and wisely necessary, have ruled my life: the supporting from my family, the longing for reading, and the hope for the future. These passions, like a shiny star, have guided me through the most darkness of my life, have shown me the most fantastic starry night, and have touched me right here in my heart.First, I have sought support, because it helps me stand up. Being an outstanding person is not easy without the support from family as I suppose, because firstly as a green plant requires land with nutrition so that she can grow well, the family that supports me is exactly like the land with nutrition, the air with oxygen, the sun with warmth and energy. I have sought it, next, because it makes me feel loved and diminish my loneliness and my fear of the strange world. Whenever I feel scared and find nowhere to go, it's my family that holds me warm and being strong. I have sought it, last but not least, because in the deep field of my mind, I feel my family and I are associated. I would never say no to love my family back and support them when they need me or I will feel lose of something in the deep side of my heart.Second, with the support of my family, I feel like I have a boat to sail in an unknown sea and look for the saint in the world. I have wished to find a saint so that I can sit next to him, talk to him, and feel the joyful spirit in the universe. I do find a Saint, but not just one. They sometimes swim in the sea, sometimes walk on the earth and sometimes fly in the sky. When they swim in the sea, I can chase them to the end of the world and experience themost breathtaking things in the sea like Hemingway. When they walk on the earth, I can follow them to the highest mountain in the world like Jon Krakauer. When they fly in the sky, I can watch them how to light the stars for people like Edison. Saints are intensely close to us when you feel the joyfulness for reading. When it comes to reading, it's not just about reading books but about watching people, going back to nature and appreciating the truth in the universe. Through reading, I have reached for the most attractive and implicational star.Last but not least, so far as support and reading is essential, it stimulates me to have a better understanding of the world. Nonetheless the hope of the future is leading me to a better world of my own self. Distinction, confidence and determination are essential to the hope for the future. Facing obstacles ahead of me, I won’t never flee in panic. Without the hope for the future, I can't find the happiness of being alive. Just as the sunflower believes the sun will rise up tomorrow, so do I have the hope for the future. This has been part of my life and will be the rest of my life. I have found it worth trying experiencing the world, and would definitely try it harder to live better if I have cognized better about my life.。
3passions-英文阅读

Three PassionsBertrand RussellThree passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind. These passions, like great winds, have blown me hither and thither, in a wayward course over a deep ocean of anguish, reaching to the very verge of despair.I have sought love, first, because it brings ecstasy-ecstasy so great that I would often have sacrificed all the rest of my life for a few hours for this joy. I have sought it, next, because it relieves loneliness-that terrible loneliness in which one shivering consciousness looks over the rim of the world into the cold unfathomable lifeless abyss. I have sought it, finally, because in the union of love I have seen, in a mystic miniature, the prefiguring vision of the heaven that saints and poets have imagined. This is what I sought, and though it might seem too good for human life, this iswhat-at last-I have found. With equal passion I have sought knowledge. I have wished to understand the hearts of men. I have wished to know why the stars shine...A little of this, but not much, I have achieved.Love and knowledge, so far as they were possible, led upward toward the heavens. But always pity brought me back to earth. Echoes of cries of pain reverberate in my heart. Children in famine, victims tortured by oppressors, helpless old people a hated burden to their sons, and the whole world of loneliness, poverty, and pain make a mockery of what human life should be. I long to alleviate the evil, but I cannot, and I too suffer. This has been my life. I have found it worth living, and would gladly live it again if the chance were offered me.。

优秀英语美文阅读带翻译:Three passions
Three passions, simple but overwhelming strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind. These passions, like great winds, have blown me hither and thither, in a wayward course ,over a deep ocean of anguish, reaching to the very verge of despair.
I have sought love, first, because it brings ecstasy----ecstasy so great that I would often have sacrificed all the rest of my life for a few hours for this joy. I have sought it, next, because it relieves loneliness-----that terrible loneliness in which one shivering consciousness looks over the rim of the world into the cold unfathomable lifeless abyss. I have sought it, finally, because in the union of love I have seen, in a mystic miniature, the prefiguring vision of the heaven that saints and poets have imagined. This is what I sought, and though it might seem too good for human life, this is what---at last---I have found.
With equal passion I have sought knowledge. I have wished to understand the hearts of men. I have wished to know why the stars shine. And I have tried to apprehend the Pythagorean power by which number holds sway above the flux.
A little of this, but not much, I have achieved.
Love and knowledge, so far as they were possible, led upward toward the heavens. But always pity brought me back to earth. Echoes of cries of pain reverberate in my heart. Children in famine, victims tortured by oppressors, helpless old people a hated burden to their sons, and the whole world
of loneliness, poverty, and pain make a mockery of what human life should be. I long to alleviate the evil, but I can’t, and I too suffer.
This has been my life. I have found it worth living, and would gladly live it again if the chance were offered me.
