咖啡传入巴西则是18世纪以后的事,1727年, 咖啡由圭亚那传入巴西贝伦港,从此便在落 户。巴西的咖啡产量已占世界总产量的75%。 在较长的时期内,咖啡占有巴西出口总收入 的2/3,从而使巴西成为当之无愧的“咖啡王 国”。巴西现仍是世界上最大的咖啡生产国 和出口国。

伊泰普水电站
伊泰普水电站位于巴西与巴拉 圭之间的界河——巴拉那河 (世界第五大河,年径流量 7250亿立方米)上,伊瓜苏市 北12公里处,是目前世界第二 大水电站,由巴西与巴拉圭共 建,发电机组和发电量由两国 均分。目前共有20台发电机组 (每台70万千瓦),总装机容 量1400万千瓦,年发电量900 亿度,其中2008年发电948.6 亿度。是当今世界装机容量第 二大,发电量最大的水电站。
