It's an important way for children to learn how to nurture another living creature from a young age. Of course, parents need to supervise and help their kids with pet care duties at first. But over time, kids can take over more responsibilities as they get older.Pets also provide emotional benefits for children. They can reduce stress, anxiety, and loneliness. Sometimes he gets grumpy and hisses at me though! Every week, I have to feed Apollo a dead mouse...which is kinda gross, but that's what snakes eat! Apollo sheds his skin a couple times a year and I keep the snake skins as souvenirs.
