1985年的世界，埃塞俄比亚、苏丹等非洲国家饱受饥荒的困扰。
这一年一支世界金曲《We are the world》诞生了，歌声中唱到“We are the world,We are the children,We are the one to make a brighter day”，这首由45位美国歌手演唱的歌曲传遍了世界，鼓励一个又一个善良的人为非洲贫苦人民捐出了他们的爱心。
这支伟大金曲的词曲作者之一就是迈克尔·杰克逊，一位公认的流行音乐之王。
诞生于1958年的迈克尔从小就展示了过人的音乐天赋，他和他的4个哥哥组成了Jackson 5乐队，名噪一时。
1971年，迈克尔开始了自己辉煌的单飞生涯。
1982年，《Thriller》唱片的发布，总共收获了1.1亿张专辑的销量，成为了人类历史上销量第一的专辑。
1987年，在迈克尔的首次个人世界巡回演唱会上，他第一次向世人展示了自己的太空步和机械舞，人们被他的舞步折服甚至疯狂。
1992年，布加勒斯特的演唱会，出现了世界演唱会历史上罕见的一幕：7万2000名的观众中几乎5000名观众昏倒，更有10名观众猝死，迈克尔的演唱会有一种让人疯狂的魔力，他的舞蹈，他的歌声有着如同宗教仪式般让人陷入狂热的力量。
2000年，吉尼斯世界纪录大全里认证他资助过39个慈善机构，慈善也是他生命的一部分。
1997年和2001年迈克尔先后两次入选摇滚名人堂，即使他是流行音乐世界的王者，他依然也有资格在摇滚名人堂留有一席之地。
他的一生中还拥有13个格莱美音乐奖，26个全美音乐奖，还有13支美国冠军单曲，如此辉煌的表现无愧流行音乐之王的称号。
不幸的是2009年6月25日，年仅50岁的迈克尔因药物中毒离开了人世，一代巨星就此陨落。
迈克尔作为流行音乐的代表人物，他为世界音乐做出了巨大的贡献。
迈克尔的MV有着丰富的类型，非凡的创造力，比如：《Beat it》中对黑社会的描写，《Childhood》中模仿小飞侠彼得潘中的飞天船，甚至还有和球王乔丹的跨界合演，他的想象力和创造力在他的MV中体现得淋漓尽致。

据统计他捐助的金额超过6亿美金，捐助的慈善机构达到39个。
他还建立了梦幻庄园，这个仿造彼得潘电影里的乐园成为了全世界儿童的天堂。
每年免费邀请无数孩子来这里玩耍，那些贫穷的孩子也在这里有了一段美好的童年经历。
每次在他的演唱会、聚会、签售会上，我们都会发现他的左臂上佩戴了一个绸缎，它的含义为了悼念世界上此刻正在受苦的儿童。
偶像的力量是无穷的，我相信他的粉丝们也和他做着一样的事情。
迈克尔·杰克逊不仅仅是流行乐文化的代表，也是美国文化的代表，更是和平主义的代表。
