《美国文化和社会》课程论文“当今的中国人如何正确看待美国？”。
这是一个非常现实的问题，也是一个颇有争议的问题。
正确地回答和解决好这个国家间关系问题，实际上对于我们具有很现实的实践意义和深远的历史意义。
下面就结合我这次课程学习的心得体会，谈一谈对这一问题的看法。
第一、要科学地回答上述问题，我认为首先应该搞明白历史上的美国究竟是一个什么样的国家？所以刨根问底，才能知道其来龙去脉。
它不是一个在新大陆上凭空长出来的国家。
它是来自世界各地的叛逆人士、流亡人士、淘金人士汇集而成的多民族融合的移民联邦共和国家。
美国的国父们都是大咖，大科学家，大文学家，大政治家，是一批反对王权压迫、反对欧洲传统宗教束缚、追求自由梦想的一群亡命之徒和冒险家！他们参与建国制宪，为美国后来的科学发展奠定了很好的制度基础。
在美国这片土地上，国家年纪轻轻，没有历史负担。
所有来到美国这块土地上的人们都怀揣理想和对于美好生活的追求。
所谓的美国梦，就是构建一个自由自在的人间天堂，就是一个开疆拓土，构造人间乐园的梦。
美国梦实际上是一个个人英雄主义的梦，是一个群星璀璨，星光灿烂的梦想。
它从十九世纪下半叶开始发迹，到二十世纪的上半期成为暴发户。
至今己经引领世界潮流将近一个世纪。
按照当今时髦的说法，美国是一个很酷很性感的国家。
它发明的电，让整个世界光明、运行、连接了起来。
它发明的互联网造就有了一代信息技术产业。
它的硅谷高科技创新企业、它的好莱坞的超级大片、它的128号公路先进制造业今天仍然引领世界产业的潮流和方向。
它的大学、他的研究院、它的智库群体仍然是聚集着世界上最顶尖的人才之地！第二个问题就是要回答当今美国是一个什么样的国家？当今的美国毫无疑问仍然是唯一的一个超级大国。
要想认清别人，先要明白自己是怎么回事。
尽管近些年来，我们的GDP越来越接近美国的总量，但是GDP的构成的差距具有质的区别。
两国整体的发展水平可以说还不在一个量级和层次之上。
从我国留学生的表现，就可以知道我国目前所处的历史方位。

American welfare systemI have seen the movie -The Pursuit of Happiness two years ago. To be honest, this move was really a big shock to me, and the strong power in Chris has been influencing me all the time. I believe that most of us who have seen the movie should remember the plot that the government took $600 from Chris Gardner´account and he only had $21.33 left, and he was broke again . During that time, he and his son spent a night in the WC, and lived in the church hospice for many days. The church hospice in the movie is a part of American welfare system .And in this essay I will talk something about the system.In the American vocabulary, "welfare" has often had a limited meaning, most commonly associated in public discourse with public assistance to mothers with dependent children. Y et government welfare can also be given a broader definition, as a general social safety net designed to support citizens in need. Under this definition, "welfare" refers to government protections for workers' incomes, which are often threatened by structural economic change under the free market system .In an economy in which workers rely on wages to support themselves.In the United States, then, government welfare has been a collection of different programs that includes unemployment insurance, health insurance, old age pensions, accident insurance, and support for families with dependent children.The American present welfare measures for import from 1935 of Social Security Act and its later improvement. According to their own living conditions, the state decide whether the applicants have qualifications to apply for .Pregnant women and children's welfare is to protect and promote the health of women and children, but it has not assigned cash, but provides health services. What is more, it also provides orphans education fees and cost of living.Therefore, US´s welfare systems are quite perfect. It contained generally the life aspects. It plays an important part in people’s lives. But such perfect welfare system also has the shortcoming, is only the money subsidies, for one person who has the house to live or not, is always regardless of. There is no doubt that such system has its institutional shortcomings. Such as aggravating financial burden, weakening people to alter their fate´s morale , improper using lots of money and fair questions.From my point of view, welfare institution´s purpose is to give people a better life. The British Educational SystemAs far as we know, there are pre-primary schools, primary schools, secondary schools and university or college. Pre-school education is available (often on a fee-paying basis) for children aged 2 to 4/5 through playgroups and nursery schools. And many of them are private. 这些好经验不能照搬。

但是中国教育界的头儿们官僚们教授专家们实在是学问太高深了，并不懂得这些生活的基本常识。
但是学问高深的教育精英们的行动又是太初级了：一听说美国西方的什么东西好，立即拿老百姓的钱组织各类考察团飞出国去顶礼膜拜（名为考察），回来盲目推广蜂拥而上。
其实真正值得中国教育界的人士思考研究的是，如何根据中国的具体情况适当地加以学习的。
美国的国情与中国的国情非常的不同，最大的不同在于：一是，中国人口量巨大，居住密度高，而美国人口少，而且居住密度低；二是，美国很有钱，而中国非常穷。
要辅导上亿中小学生们的课外自修项目，就要有足够多的教师，这在中国一般办不到（有钱的私立学校，富裕地区的公立学校可能办得到）。
美国的高等教育十分重视人文和历史教育，人文历史学科的院系在美国是较普遍地设置的。
如，马里兰大学是一个由马里兰州办的州立高等教育系统，由十三所大学组成，比如University of Maryland, College Park 是这一大学系统中最主要的大学，它拥有师资和研究力量雄厚的历史系，所开设的历史课程的内容也十分丰富。

学习了美国社会与文化后，我对美国的传统价值观有了更深更好的理解一般而言，美国的传统价值观共包括六个方面，即：individual freedom, equality of opportunity, material wealth 和self-reliance, competition, hard work. 其中，前三个方面集中代表了世界各地的人们移民到美国的原因，亦即我们通常所讲的“美国之梦”所包含的主要内容；而后三个方面则是为了实现这些梦想所应付出的代价。
在美国人看来，individual freedom 和self-reliance, equality of opportunity 和competition, material wealth 和hard work 是一一对应的。
你要想实现前一个梦想，就必须付出后边那个代价。
个性自由起源于美国祖先追求宗教信仰自由的传统。
包括自主动机，自主抉择，自力更生，尊重他人，个性自由，尊重隐私等层面。
美国的自由观"不仅指免除对肉体的约束，而且指个人有权签订契约；有权从事任何一种普通谋生职业；有权获取有用的知识；有权结婚、建立家庭和抚养孩子；受自己良心的支配崇拜上帝，以及普遍地享有历来被认为是自由和平等地追求幸福所必不可少的那些特权
自力更生每一个人生下来就是自由的，但要真正享受自由就必须要靠自己。
这种观念体现在语言上就是在与美国人交谈时，他们很少通过炫耀自己的家庭或社会关系来抬高自己；如果你要那么做了只能让别人觉得你是个孩子，一个没有自己生活的人永远只能是个孩子。
机会平等美国人永远愿意倾听别人的意见，给别人机会；一个人在一方面犯了错误，并不剥夺他在其他方面出色的权利。
美国人认为在大自然面前，人人有生存权利，只要有力气，有能力，谁都可以获得自然，谁都可以发财当富翁；在政治上，他们主张投票箱面前人人平等，也就是说，人人有选举权；在受教育上，资产阶级进步思想家提倡人人有受教育的机会，公立学校人人均可上学；运动场上，美国人也有他们的标准，只要有体育才能和技术的人，都可以参加竞争；在社交场合，美国人喜欢平等待人，也喜欢被别人平等相待，摆架子、高人一等的表现为人们所不取；在官兵关系方面，美国人认为，官兵之间应该是平等的，指挥官不能向士兵摆资格，不能把权威当宝杖使用；在宗教方面，美国人认为人人有信仰宗教的权利，只要是新教徒，不要经任何神职人员作中介，都可以与上帝相通。
竞争意识竞争是永恒的，也是一个人证明他在社会中地位的手段，但同时他也许要与同事的合作。
但请注意，美国人所理解的“竞争”中的胜利并不是“惟我独尊”，而是得到别人的理解和认可；另外，美国人清楚的认识到依次的胜利只能说明过去，明天会有更多的挑战，要乐观的面对挑战，参加竞争。
追求财富美国人的祖先大多来自于贫民，追求财富，改善生活成为绝大多数移民的梦想。
时至今日现在的美国人对于财富的理解远远超出了他们的祖先，时间、健康、能力、信息等都超出了纸币本身的价值，金钱成为了一种代表符号。
总而言之，在美国人看来，一个人要有追求，这是你个人前进的动力。
敬业进取多数美国人都会把“敬业、进取”当作自己获得财富和保持财富的手段。
在美国的各大商场里，有一种“DIY”的商品最为畅销。
很多美国人已经把工作，当成一种人生的乐趣。
在竞争面前，只有敬业并不断进取，才能保持自己在竞争中不败！
下面有一些列子可以帮组我们了解我在前面提到过的美国的传统价值观。
1、美国商业上强调“自由市场” ,这与美国一直以来的自由价值观有着密切联系。
美国人的价值体系是和经济的改革相联系的。
准确地说，是和“自由市场”的产生联系在一起的，自由市场是美国人生活中各种基本矛盾的根源：经济为效率服务、政治为平等服务、文化为自我实现服务的三准则形成了美国社会中的三种最重要的相互制约的价值观。
一个半世纪以来，这三种不同的价值定向之间常常会发生紧张和冲突。
2、美国公共教育以实现美国社会机会均等、社会流动和经济公平方面平等主义为目标。
美国教育中，自力更生和责任精神，是对子女教育的出发点。
让孩子从小学会独立
历代美国总统认为道德教育在建立民主国家中将会起相当重要的作用。
发展教育能够帮助同
胞们意识到自己的道德责任感，这无论对于保证同胞们的自身安全，还是对建立国家的正常秩序，都是非常必要的。
宗教、道德和知识对于政府来说是必须的，它们能为人类的福利服务，而学校和立法机构则应该依靠国家的支持。
3. 美国的政教分离并不是独特的，因为所有欧洲国家的宪法都为宗教自由提供了某种保证。
美国主流宗教的真正独特性在于自由教会的存在。
世界上信仰宗教的自由主义者会很快脱离其信仰体系，转向完全的自由主义，而在美国，自由教派的世俗化非常缓慢，其中很大程度就在于自由化的宗教与一系列强制的宗教礼拜活动结合在了一起。
4.美国人对一个人在家庭出身、父母职位这一类东西不大感兴趣，因为一个人在生活中能否成功，父母的大名帮不了多少忙，也没有人买这个账。
总统的儿子照样可以去擦汽车，能否出人头地全靠个人的奋斗去争取。
比如在学校里，学生要想得到奖学金或其他鼓励，前提条件是要力求学业成绩超过别的同学。
大学教师晋升、提薪的条件，除本人的著述外，还要看学生们对他教学工作的评比。
每学年末，学生们都要填一份对教师授课情况的评比表，内容包括：教师的传授能力如何；课余辅导是否充足；对本专业的知识是否精通等等。
评比的结果送到校方。
因此，谁晋升谁长工资不取决于在校时间长短，而是看上述的条件。
在这种环境下，教师授课的表现就意味着和同行的相比较，也就是一种竞争。
公司里的小职员，即使是打打字或归档文件的，也要力求干得比同事们出色，才有希望晋升或加薪。
这些体现了美国六大传统价值观，及其对美国人生活的影响。
上一次我们看了一部电影，名叫冷山，从这部电影来看，里面讲诉了美国内战，黑人为自己的权利而战，为个人自由而战。
战后黑人的政治地位有了改善，参政人数不断增加。
黑人的经济状况也有了好转。
黑人的生活同以往相比有了提高，在法律上获得了与白人同等的权利，但实际上情况只是比战争前稍微好了点。
男主角英曼从战场逃离回家的途中，遇到很多困难，饥饿，诱惑，追捕逃兵的军队等，但他克服了这些困难回到了家里，这也是一种自力更生。
但影片中最主要的还是讲到了个人自由，美国传统价值观之一。
个人自由始终是美国人一直不断追求，努力实现的权利。
美国人一直在不断创新，但是在美国的发展中传统价值观起着很大的作用，传统的东西也不一定就很坏，只要合理运用，它不但不会阻碍反而会推动发展。
美国社会与文化这门课让我对美国有了更深的理解，虽然英语水平提升不多，但有所收获对我来说就很不错了。
