University campus open to the outside world reflects the good interaction between the college and society. It benefits a university both reputation and openness. It is also a good way to attract the talent. As we all known, the college is more than teaching and scientific research, it also undertake the important mission of serving society. If opening to the public, people will have more opportunities and channels to know and attend to this university. Meanwhile, as a kind of common resource, people have the right to visit university campus. So the opening of university campus will beneficially narrow the gap between campuses and the outside world.
However, opening to the outside world also causes a series of problems, which can be divided into four categories: environmental protection, security, traffic and teaching order. These problems are various and common. In Cherry Blossom Festival, million of visitors crowed into Wuhan University campus just one week.
