好的英文科技论文不仅具备较高的学术水平，同时还需要有准确的语言表达。
在英文科技写作中，this是比较常用的词汇之一。
蓝译编译发现，很多作者由于受到汉语母语的影响，在正确使用this方面还存在一些问题，具体主要表现如下：
一、和代词it的混用。
代词this和it在科技论文中容易被混淆使用，两者都可表示已提到过的人或事物，对应的中文意思分别是“这个，这”和“它”。
在具体的英文语境中使用this比it更能确切地表达作者的意思、也更符合英文的习惯。
两者之间的混用情况常出现在以下几种句型中：
1.“It indicates/means/describes/denotes/proves…+that从句”是国内的作者在科技论文中使用频率较高的一个句型，将it改为this 更合适。
2.“It is because…”句型中，将it改为this更合适。
3.当it非指代上文提到的某种事物，也不属于形式主语时，改为this作主语比it更合适。
二、和that之间的混用。
this和that从字面上解释为“这”和“那”，分别指较近、较远的人或事物。
