Question: Do you agree or disagree with the following statement ? Movies and television have more of a negative than positive effect on young people. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Answer：
I agree with this statement. I make my choice depanding on the following four reasons. First of all, there are various kinds of programs and shows on television and movies, including a large number of unhealthy content which will cause negative and adverse influence on young people.As an illustration, a boy killed his younger sister in Australia because he imitated the violent scenes from television programs. Secondly, it will be better and mor healthier to play and exercise outside than to sit still in front of TVs or computers for a long time. The former is beneficial to the circulation of the blood while the latter is just the reverse. According to online edition of the British Journal of Sports Medicine, the one who watches the TV on an average level of six hours/day may reduce life expectancy by five years. Besides, according to some scientific researches and investigations, watching too much movies or TV programs will damage one’s eyesight. Reports show that watching TV or movies
for a long time will cause permanent reduction of one’s vision, namely myopia. What’s worse, all watching and no play makes Jack a dull boy, owing to long-time no brain and completely asiding by the development of the story of a movie or TV show，young people may fall into a habit that they are unwilling to think on their own intiative.。
