facing this audience on the stage, i have the exciting feeling of participating in the march of history, for what we are facing today is more than a mere competition or contest.

it is an assembly of some of china's most talented and motivated people, representatives of a younger generation that are preparing themselves for the coming of a new century.

i'm grateful that i've been given this opportunity, at such a historic moment, to stand here as a spokesman of my generation and to take a serious look back at the past xx years, a crucial period for every one of us and for this nation as well.

though it is only within my power to tell about my personal experience, and only a tiny fragment of it at that, it still represents, i believe, the root of a spirit which has been essential to me and to all the people bred by the past xx years.

in my elementary years, there was a little girl in the class who worked very hard but somehow could never do

satisfactorily in her lessons.

the teacher asked me to help her, and it was obvious that she expected a lot from me.

but as a young boy, restless, thoughtless, i always tried to evade her so as to get more time to enjoy myself.

one day before the final exam, she came up to me and said, could you please explain this to me i want very much to do better this time.

i started explaining, and finished in a hurry.

pretending not to notice her still confused eyes, i ran off quickly.

nat surprisingly, she again did very badly in the exam.

and two months later, at the beginning of the new semester, word came of her death of blood cancer.

no one ever knew about the little task i failed to fulfill, but i couldn't forgive myself.

i simply couldn't forget her eyes, which seem to be asking, why didn't you do a little more to help me, when it was so easy for you why didn't you understand a little better the trust placed in you, so that i would not have to leave this world in such pain and regret

i was about eight or nine years old at that time, but in a way it was the very starting point of my life, for i began to understand the word responsibility and to learn to always do my duties faithfully and devotedly, for the implications of that sacred word has dawned on me: the mutual need and trust of people, the co-operation and inter-reliance which are the very foundation of human society.

Mothers Love

my dear friends:

do you know what is the most precious and everlasting thing in the world

money you may lose everything you have if you do not use money carefully enough. youth in one's long life youth is like a flash in the pan and no one in the world has the secret to keep his youth forever. beautiful look many people pray that they can get hold of beauty, but it disappears far more quickly than they can imagine. and when they are in real trouble beauty itself feels helpless. a good job as you grow older and your brain and hands cannot work as fast as before, it will become other people's wealth.

then what is the most precious and ev-erlasting thing

in the world

when you are far away from your fam-ily and feel especially lonely, who will you think of when you stand on the crossroad in your life and do not know which way to choose, who will you think of when you encounter greater difficulties than ever and need other's encouragement, who will you think of when you decide to make the greatest decision in your favorite course, who will you think of who gave birth to you who brought you up who shed cheer-ful tears when seeing you make achieve-ments whose wholehearted blessing will be always with you no matter how far you will go

yes, it's mother that you will always think of and it's mother's love that will be always together with you.

i once heard a moving story about a mother. two children were drawn into the flood and the situation was very dangerous. their mother jumped into the water without the least hesitation. but you know the moth-er could not swim at all. jumping into the water means she might lose her life. but at that time she had no time to think about herself. she just wanted to try all means to save her children.

maybe her courage moved the god. the miracle happened.

she finally succeeded in saving her children one by one. and she, of course, felt extremely ex-hausted.

my friends, mother's love is the greatest love. mother's love is the safest love. no matter you are happy or sorrowful, rich or poor, mother's love will always stay with you.

thank you all!

you may observe, that amongst all the great and worthy persons (whereof the memory remaineth, either ancient or recent) there is not one, that hath been transported to the mad degree of love: which shows that great spirits, and great business, do keep out this weak passion. you must except, nevertheless, marcus antonius, the half partner of the empire

of rome, and appius claudius, the decemvir and lawgiver; whereof the former was indeed a voluptuous man, and inordinate; but the latter was an austere and wise man: and therefore it seems (though rarely) that love can find entrance, not only into an open heart, but also into a heart well fortified, if watch be not well kept.

it is a poor saying of epicurus, satis magnum alter alteri theatrum sumus; as if man, made for the contemplation of heaven, and all noble objects, should do nothing but kneel before a little idol, and make himself a subject, though not of the mouth (as beasts are), yet of the eye; which was given him for higher purposes.

it is a strange thing, to note the excess of this passion, and how it braves the nature, and value of things, by this; that the speaking in a perpetual hyperbole, is comely in nothing but in love. neither is it merely in the phrase; for whereas it hath been well said, that the arch-flatterer, with whom all the petty flatterers have intelligence, is a man’s self; certainly the lover is more. for there was never proud man thought so absurdly well of himself, as the lover doth of the person loved; and therefore it was well said, that it is impossible to love, and to be wise. neither doth this weakness appear to others only, and not to the party loved; but to the loved most of all, except the love be reciproque. for it is a true rule, that love is ever rewarded, either with the reciproque, or with an inward and secret contempt.

by how much the more, men ought to beware of this passion, which loseth not only other things, but itself! as for the other losses, the poet’s relation doth well figure th em: that he that preferred helena, quitted the gifts of juno and pallas. for whosoever esteemeth too much of amorous affection, quitteth both riches and wisdom.

this passion hath his floods, in very times of weakness; which are great prosperity, and great adversity; though this latter hath been less observed: both which times kindle love, and make it more fervent, and therefore show it to be the child of folly. they do best, who if they cannot but admit love, yet make it keep quarters; and sever it wholly from their serious affairs, and actions, of life; for if it check once

with business, it troubleth men’s fortunes, and maketh men, that they can no ways be true to their own ends.

(5)。

i know not how, but martial men are given to love: i think, it is but as they are given to wine; for perils commonly ask to be paid in pleasures.

there is in man’s nature, a secret inclination and motion, towards love of others, which if it be not spent upon some one or a few, doth naturally spread itself towards many, and maketh men become humane and chari ; as it is seen sometime in friars.

nuptial love maketh mankind; friendly love perfecteth it; but wanton love corrupteth, and embaseth it.

最普通的结尾就是:thank you very much for your attention

Now, I want to start with a question: When was the last time you were called childish? For kids like me, being called childish can be a frequent occurrence. Every time we make irrational demands, exhibit irresponsible behavior, or display any other signs of being normal American citizens, we are called childish, which really bothers me. After all, take a look at these events: Imperialism and colonization, world wars, George W. Bush. Ask yourself: Who's responsible? Adults. Now, what have kids done? Well, Anne Frank touched millions with her powerful account of the Holocaust, Ruby Bridges helped end segregation in the United States, and, most recently, Charlie Simpson helped to raise 120,000 pounds for Haiti on his little bike. So, as you can see evidenced by such examples, age has absolutely nothing to do with it. The traits the word childish addresses are seen so often in adults that we should abolish this age-discriminatory word when it comes to criticizing behavior associated with irresponsibility and irrational thinking. (Applause) Thank you. Then again, who's to say that certain types of irrational thinking aren't exactly what the world needs? Maybe you've had grand plans before, but stopped yourself, thinking: That's impossible or that costs too much or that won't

Michael Jackson was born in August 1958. So was I. Michael Jackson grew up in the suburbs of the Midwest. So did I. Michael Jackson had eight brothers and sisters. So do I. When Michael Jackson was six, he became a superstar, and was perhaps the world's most beloved child. When I was six, my mother died. I think he got the shorter end of the stick. I never had a mother, but he never had a childhood. And when you never get to have something, you become obsessed by it. I spent my childhood searching for my mother’s figures. sometimes I was successful, but how do you recreate your chilidhood when you are under the magnifying glass of the world for your entire life. There is no question that Michael Jackson was one of the greatest talents the world has ever known. That when he sang a song at the ripe old age of eight he could make you feel like an experienced adult was squeezing your heart with his words. That when he moved he had the elegance of Fred Astaire and packed the punch of Muhammad Ali. That his music had an extra layer of inexplicable magic that didn’t just make you want to dance but actually made you believe you could fly, dare to dream, be anything that you wanted to be. Because that is what heroes do and Michael Jackson was a hero.

Chief Justice Rehnquist, President Carter, President Bush, President Clinton, distinguished guests and my fellow citizens, the peaceful transfer of authority is rare in history, yet common in our country. With a simple oath, we affirm old traditions and make new beginnings. As I begin, I thank President Clinton for his service to our nation. And I thank Vice President Gore for a contest conducted with spirit and ended with grace. I am honored and humbled to stand here, where so many of America’s leaders have come before me, and so many will follow. We have a place, all of us, in a long story -- a story we continue, but whose end we will not see. It is the story of a new world that became a friend and liberator of the old, a story of a slave-holding society that became a servant of freedom, the story of a power that went into the world to protect but not possess, to defend but not to conquer.

The main content of my speech today is about music. 。。。。。 well,as we all know, music is an important piece of human life. Music is always in comparison with other eldest brothers to shame. it's normal. it's good. At least the phenomenon tells the truth that we are keeping a watchful eye on practical things but not someting fancy. 音乐在什么时候却可以稍微赢一下这些兄弟呢? but when is the chance for music to win his brothers a little bit? well, maybe ask for love? Like the music market filled with the so-called love songs 。 all in a word, when praying for love, the military and political economy can't do anything. But, this is also the reason why after elvis Presley, the beatles, Quincy Jones or even Jackson, Madonna, music always loss to their brothers.or even such a little child called movie can make music as his slave.

And I asked myself, why? I felt shy, I felt embarrassed. And then my question became, am I the only one who does this? So, I decided to investigate.

I can never really understand that because Pop made the plays,he called the plays. And its not my fault he called all the plays for Timmy, and Timmy took all the shots. I'm just a point guard, especially my first two years, but i think we did really good, win the best trio in the NBA history, playoff wins, so 132wins i think we did ok. So,i just wanna tell Argentina, i still love you, but thank god, Pop made you come off the bench so get you mad at pop so then i was good, then i was good. So its 3things i want to tell you Manu, first time i saw you play,i was 18years old, and when i think about you, its how unique you were as a player, there's no other word i can find an describe you, you just was unique, nobody is like you in the whole history of the game, you were so unique, that even Pop didn't know what to do with you the first two years.
