Comments on Brave HeartThree years ago, when I was still a high school student, my English teacher introduced Brave Heart to me. At that time, he expressed his own great appreciations of it. Thus it made the first impression on me. While several days ago, I saw this film myself .And now, I get my own point of view. In my heart, Brave Heart is more shocking than that I have expected.Almost every body longs for freedom and wants to enjoy it, especially for people suppressed by the ruling class. However, to get peace and freedom, resistance seems a necessary and effective way.William Wallace was just such a hero that led Scottish to fight for freedom.When he was a boy, his father died for resisting King Edward I’ s cruel rule, facing the death o f his loved father, he shew his strong, which was discrepant with his age. In his father’ funeral, neighbor girl Murron picked a thistle and sent it to him, he received it. He silently looked at the little girl without a word, tears streaming down from his cheeks. This scene really broke my heart.Many years passed, Wallace grew up to a young guy. After his studying martial arts and knowledge and traveling around the world with his uncle, Wallace came back to his hometown. There he met Murron, the neighbo r girl in his childhood at a villager’s wedding. And they witnessed the beautiful bride taken away by the England soldiers. They fell in love with each other. In order to avoid the King’s ridiculous rule system, they got married secretly. But unfortunately, Murron was caught and killed by the soldiers. Wallace broke out and decided to revenge for his loved wife.Whereas, Wallace just wanted to be a good man and cultivated in his field. He hadn’t meant to resist the king and even revenge for his father, but now he had to, he was forced to.Wallace was the son of a hero; he was brave, wise and full of heroic spirit. Once he raised the standard to revolt, people followed. He organized the people to revolt. Although the rule class forbad the Scottish to have weapons, they took stones as weapons and practiced throwing them. Just as Wallace said that winning was not only a matter of strong body, but also mind when hethrew stones against Hamish and won. Seeing from this, the latter seemed more important. He fully shew his martial ability and intelligence when fighting against the England troops. Despite that they were not regular troops and had no particular weapons to fight against the king’s army; they were the winner in several wars, defending enemy troops with a force inferior in number and power. Unless betrayed by the Scottish nobles, he might had led the Scottish people to get freedom. Powerful enemies, nobles’ retreating while facing enemies and being betrayed again and again by his ally, all these factors above resulted in Wallace a tragic hero.Apart from his martial abilities, Wallace was also an outstanding speaker. When facing the powerful enemies, the Scottish people was frightened and wanted to retreat and give up resistance. At this juncture, Wallace was calm and delivered a speech to call people to hold on: “Aye, fight and you may die, run and you’ll live. At least a while. And dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance to come backhere and tell our enemies, that they may take our lives, but they’ll never take our freedom?! Alba gu bra!”It was so provocative that all of them were highly motivated and cried “Alba gu bra” neatly and loudly.To build the image of Wallace plump, there were many emotional scenes. In this film, Wallace was a magnet to woman. Princess Isabella, a kind-hearted, strong and upright woman, was overwhelmed by Wallace. They had a happy time together. But seeing from the weight Wallace attached to the handkerchief once belonged to Murron, he was loyal to the love between he and Murron. And it was just because of her, Wallace walked onto the way resisting England dynasty. Along with the event’s development, the war went up to a higher standar d fighting for the whole people’s freedom, no longer just for his own revenge.After being caught, Wallace was sentenced to death. Before his death, he would suffered from all the cruel punishment. Wallace was also a human being with blood and feeling. He also missed the world and had something he couldn’t put aside. When he was locked in the prison, he also prayed to god for courage to face death. Butfacing the enemy and cold execution instruments, the last word he cried out with all his strengthen was “Freedom” but not “mercy”.In this film, Robert is also a man who had a brave heart. It was him that found himself in the final point and led Scottish people gained freedom.Another bright spot of this film was the music. The sad and mild tune piped by the most representative and ancient instrument, Scotland bagpipe, accompanied with the whole film, perfectly rendering atmosphere of the scene. It caught audience’s hearts tightly.Wallace’s body might die, but his brave and fearless spirit kept alive in Scotti sh people’s heart with his freedom sword. His story spread over the whole land of Scotland. His death lit up a flame in the Scottish’s heart. His courage inspired a nation. His heart defied a king. He was a man that really lived. 勇敢的心影评Review of BraveheartThe film entitled Braveheart,which tells of the story of Sir William Wallace ,a Scotland’s hero in 13th century to protest against the cruel king of England, Edward I.Although the reason is seemingly a romantic revernge for his fiancée who was killed by an English landlord.The struggle was so fierce ,bloody and magnificent that any spectator can not come to himself or herself after seeing a series of campaigns that were shown in the movie and we are most touched by the desire for freedom of Sir William Wallace on the last scene of his execution ,in which William’s sky blue eyes were shone as bright as the sky ,a metaphor for the freedom which is hopeless but the determination was never abandoned in pursuit for it.However,one cannot stand the spiteful rebellion of the Scottish nobles and just imagine Wallace’s disbelief and shock when he got to know that the knight of Edward I,who is most willing to kill him in the battlefield,is the one who is most likelyto become the king of Scotland,the man who swore to stand alongside with Wallace from the majority of the Scotland’s aristocrats who suspected Wallace and kept looking down upon him.Wallace had presumed that he was his companion but the reality just showed the just op posite side of Wallce’s naïve dream and both the hero and the audience cannot bear this betrayal from the bottom of their heats.But Wallace still chose to believe,to tolerate and to take an adventure which led to his death and the end of this poetic struggle while meantime ,setting in motion another more intensive campaigns by those who carried on Wallace’s dream to realize the freedom of Scotland.Wallace’s death is like the ringing of the bell in the darkness of midnight,announcing that dawn should be cast upon the ones who never halt to pursue freedom sooner or later.The scene which showed Wallace’s call ing for freedom,while the executor’s axe moving ,the clouds floating,the wicked king’s last breath and the judge’s disappointment out of expectation. “Every man dies, not every man really lives.”Wallce’s last words echoed in the midst of the air,despite the physical death and the passing of the decades of years.
