美国心理学家华莱士指出,学生显著的个体差异、教师指导质量的个体差异,在教学中必将导致学生创造能力、创造性人格的显著差异。
因此,教师调控教学内容时必须在知识的深度和广度上分层次教学,尽可能地采用多样化的教学方法和学习指导策略;在教学评价上要承认学生的个体差异,对不同程度、不同性格的学生提出不同的学习要求。
所以教师设计作业时要真正关注学生的需要,而且要关注不同学生不同的需要,让他们在属于自己的能力范畴、兴趣范围内选择自己真正想做、能做的作业。
让每位学生都能体验到成功的喜悦,从而使学生的积极性得到保护,个性得到张扬。
因此,为避免出现优生“吃不饱”,学困生“吃不了”现象,可采取分层布置作业的措施。

浅谈初中英语作业的设计
【摘要】《教育大辞典》中关于“课外作业”的定义是这样表述的:根据教师要求,学生在课外时间独立进行的学习活动,它在教学活动总量中占有一定比例,在要使学生在课堂内真正成为学习的主人,真正实现“以生为本”,还需要把作业的设计作为一个新的突破点,使学生学会和他人合作,学会学以致用,为学生自己的终身学习、发展奠定良好的基础。

新一轮课程改革日趋向纵深发展,要想给学生减负,要想在有限的时间内落实三维目标,提高学习效率,作业的设计突显的更为重要。
从2008年以来,我校不断深入开展“生本”教育,已在前置性作业和课后巩固作业的设计和落实上作了很多探索尝试,总结了一定的经验教训,取得了一些初步的成效。
有老师说,现在的初中生越来越难教,也越来越难管,就作业方面来说,抄袭、不做作业不交作业的学生越来越多。
出现这样的情况,除了学生自身因素之外,是不是也有我们老师的问题呢?对于成绩好的学生普通作业已经没有了挑战性,而对于后进生,意味着花费更多的时间和精力在作业上,容易养成厌学的情绪。
有些教师在课堂教学上狠下苦工,却忽视了课后作业的重要性。
此外批改效果也是一个问题,学生也只关心对错几道题,知其然而不知其所以然。
就英语学科而言,要从根本上解决这些问题,要使学生在课堂内真正成为学习的主人,真正实现“以生为本”,还需要把作业的设计
作为一个新的突破点,更多的从学生个性发展的角度来设计作业,而不应该仅从完成自身教学或增长学生知识的角度设计作业,力求让学生从课内走向课外,从被动学习走向主动探究,在课堂学会和他人合作,学会学以致用,为学生自己的终身学习、发展奠定良好的基础。
一、适当增加口头作业分量,设计趣味性作业,让学生“学而不觉苦”
英语学习需要语言环境,口头表达则是弥补语言环境缺乏的有效方法之一。
学生在口头表达中可以体会语境,增强语感,了解英语词句的特点,为今后的“说”、“写”打下坚实的基础。
布置口头作业,如朗读、选择性背诵,调动了学生的积极性,学生由原来的“要我学”变为“我要学”,由“要我做”变为“我要做”。
还可以让学生们课余时间收集一些英语小故事、小幽默或者是脑筋急转弯,有效增加英语课堂的趣味性和实用性,自然学生在学习中就不会觉得辛苦。
比如我们在学习far的英语比较级的时候,若有学生提出这样的一个脑筋急转弯“who is closer to you, your mom or your dad?”引起全班同学的思考,其答案是“妈妈更亲,因为爸爸更远”(爸爸的英文单词是father,father另一种意思就是far的比较级,更远的意思)。
那么我相信所有的学生都会记得,原来“更远”和爸爸是同一个单词,既有意思又牢记了知识。
二、把学生分层,设计多层次作业,让学生“才能尽显”
在教学过程中,根据学生的学力水平、基础和学习态度等,将班级
学生分成三个层次,分别为学困生、中等生和学优生。
学困生:英语学习成绩落后,基础知识差,接受能力不强,学习积极性不高,习惯有待改善。
中等生:基础和学习能力一般,对英语学习有兴趣,学习成绩中等或不太稳定,有的比较聪明但不够努力,有的认真刻苦,但学习方法有待改进。
学优生:基础知识扎实,对英语学习有浓厚的兴趣,有良好的学习习惯和学习方法,语言表达能力较强,思考能力强,成绩优秀。
为了充分调动三个层次的学生,防止学优生自满、学困生自卑,保护学生的自尊心,可以设置为学困生组为奋进组,中等生组为加强组,学优生组为超越组,当学生在一个阶段的学习之后,成绩有了一些变化。
根据实际情况,对每个小组进行相应调整,使学生最大限度地发挥出自己的潜力,不断进步。
对学困生,我们的初步目标是培养他们学习英语的兴趣,让他们走进英语,做到一些最基本的背诵要求,完成最基础练习。
对中层生,是要全面掌握英语学科课程标准上的要求,鼓励他们多说、多读、多听,从而达到巩固知识,提高成绩的目的。
对于学优生,要培养他们更强的综合运用语言的能力,不断拓展自己。
层次性的作业能使学生们在自己相应的层次里“才能尽显”,继而达到跃迁。
比如在学完一般将来时后,我们设计了三个层次的作业:一是英汉互译;二是小作文:what are you going to do tomorrow?三是具开放性较高难度的作业:找一张图片,如宇航员、科学家、教师等等的图片,让学生们谈自己的梦想。
有层次性差异的练习题,使
每位学生都得到了最优的发展,这样充分发挥了学生的主观能动性,基本并解决了“不会做,就抄袭”与“太容易,没挑战性”的问题,使学生们在他们暂时的层次里“才能尽显”,激发他们更上一层楼。
三、设计合作型作业,让学习小组的团队精神发光
如在学习will people have robots?后,由各学习小组,自行设计出自己喜欢的机器人,并讨论安排各路“工作人员”,如有的成员负责收集资料,有的成员负责画图,有的成员负责上台用英语表达它们的功能。
最后评选出一组“最佳机器人设计组”和评选出一个对人类最有用的机器人。
学生积极参与,他们的聪明才智得到了表现。
在完成作业的过程中,增强了学习小组成员的沟通合作的团队能力,同时作业的开放性使学生们在“自由”中学到英语并用好英语,教师的“放手”让每一个学生在学习中都能达到他力所能及的成就。
英语教学的最终目的是培养学生综合运用语言进行交际的能力,而交际能力的培养光靠课堂是远远不够的。
在课外作业中,如果仅限于让学生死记硬背课文,这对口语交际能力的培养效果甚微。
我常让学生以学习小组为单位组成“英文小电影表演组”,课后自行编排表演课文里面涉及的内容,并鼓励他们进行创新。
在英语第二课堂活动时进行表演和评比时,学生在都能很好融入“戏”中,从中pick up英语口语能力。
四、作业形式多样化,让学生快乐地学习着
一些简单的英文歌曲以其动听的旋律、轻快的节奏和生动的内容深受学生的喜爱。
在布置作业时我就试着把一些单词配上乐曲,以唱歌的形式来练习。
如在教学身体各部位各称时,我把mary had a little lamb的曲调编成歌曲,取名i have a big nose,让学生根据相应的歌词指出相应的身体部位,学生边唱边做,唱上几遍就全记住这些单词了,这种作业轻松愉悦,深受学生喜爱。
初中学生对枯燥、抽象的英语单词往往会产生厌恶心理。
若能将形象的图画与抽象的单词联系起来,记忆单词就容易多了。
于是,在设计作业时,我便尝试让学生根据所学单词自行设计图画。
如,在教学tiger、lion、koala等单词时,我让学生根据自己的喜好设计制作图文并茂的单词卡,不仅大大提高了学生对英语的学习兴趣,而且也很好地开发了视觉空间智能,同时更有效地培养了学生的创新思维,使学生的个性得到充分的发展。
为了让学生体会学习的乐趣,我常把“玩”渗透到作业中,让学生在玩中学、学中玩,感受学和玩是可以同时进行的。
在教学“what does he look like?”这一单元时,我让学生回去自己做一个自己喜欢的卡通人物,让他们在课堂上用英语模仿卡通人物的语调对话,互相询问长相,达到寓学于乐、以玩促学的目的,让学生乐在其中、学在其中。
我们坚信,只要我们努力用新的教育理念来指导教育实践,积极倡导英语课堂的“生本”化,努力促进英语作业的开放性,使学生真正成为学习的主人,学生就会在学习中享受到浓浓的乐趣,蕴藏着
的无限创造潜能就会尽情地释放。
我们为学生的“好学”而设计作业,学生定会因“好学”而学习、成材。
