重难点：本课是Reading的第一课时，主要为了完成这样一个任务，即通过阅读理解文章主题，通过设计一些如true or false questions，answer questions，fill in the blanks，line the words等练习题检查学生对课文的理解程度。
由于新课程标准要求大力培养学生的阅读能力，所以通过阅读理解文章大意就成了本课的重点。
通过对文章的理解要求学生能用自己的语言描述出相关内容，这就是本课的难点。
二、说教法1．直观情境教学法：本课将利用多媒体创设情境，激发学生的好奇心和求知欲；设置语境，使学生体验语言的真实、自然，从而培养学生组织和表达语言的能力。

Welcome to the Unit 部分是一个单元的导入部分，这个部分以引起学生对话题的了解和兴趣为主，并不会摄入过多的语法知识等，因此这节课我主要让学生以讨论、角色扮演和听录音为主。
重难点：本节课的教学重点是让学生掌握描述朋友性格的形容词。
难点是同学们不能自如的运用形容词描述自己的同伴。
语言知识目标是：掌握描述人性格的词汇。
语言能力目标是：能自如的运用准确的词汇描述自己的朋友。

学习情况分析和教学策略：本节课的话题来自于学生生活实际，在之前的学习中，学生们已经掌握了许多形容词，为表达提供了语言基础。
本节课内容也比较贴近学生生活实际，学生比较容易进入角色。
