汉语中含数词的成语到处可见，我们在平时交谈、说话时也会不经意间说出几句，增加我们的语言色彩，例如：三心二意、一心一意、七上八下等等。
而英语中含数词的成语也不少，这些数词成语也同样起到了使语言生动活泼的作用，为此，我们将一些中学阶段常见的数词成语总结如下。

在本文中，笔者主要就以数字有关的谚语为例，谈谈使英语教学变得趣味横生的教法。
关键词：英语教学；数字；谚语中图分类号：G632.0 文献标识码：A 文章编号：1992-7711（2016）03-0023在英语学习中，难免乏味、枯燥、抽象，如何化抽象为具体，变乏味为精彩？实践证明，增加语言的趣味性，可喻深以浅，变难为易，有事半功倍之效。
下面就以数字有关的谚语为例，英语谚语是英语语言的一个精华，从形式到内涵独具特点，它简洁凝练、句式多变、音韵和谐优美、描写生动逼真、内涵丰富，蕴含了说英语国家人们的人生哲理，警喻功能明显，而与数字有关的谚语可见一斑，同时为我们的英语学习生色、添趣、增效。
对于一些难以解决的问题，如果用上一些数字的妙语，会迎刃而解。
例如，如果我们遇到麻烦，可以put two and two together（综合推理，合作），答案立现，因为大家都知道two heads are better than one（两人智慧胜一人；三个臭皮匠赛过诸葛亮；夫妻同心，其利断金），所以一根筷子很容易被折断，十根筷子牢牢抱成团。
再如，在大事大非面前要你拿主意时，你就不能be of two minds over this（三心二意，犹豫不定，左右摇摆），必须当机立断，痛下决心In two shakes of a lamb’s tail（立刻，马上），因为俗话说，当断不断，反受其乱。

下面，笔者在日常学习中总结了一些与英文数字有关的妙语，以期抛砖引玉，激发同学们学习英语的兴趣。
如果你想一箭双雕，我们可以说：kill two birds with one stone（一石双鸟），如果别人给你使坏，你可不能以牙还牙，因为two wrongs don’t make a right（不能因为别人做的不对，自己就有理由犯错），正所谓冤冤相报何时了。

英语中关于数字的成语（二）英语中关于数字的成语（二）10．four-letter words 四字母禁忌词英语中所谓的four-letter words其实可以翻译为“四字母粗俗词”，因其常由四个字母组成，故名。
此类词多与性及排泄有关，如piss, shit, cock等等，分量较重。
对此类词上流社会十分忌讳，但在两次世界大战中它们逐渐通用起来，不时见于文学作品。
1960年，企鹅图书公司被控出版“淫书”《查泰莱夫人的情人》（Lady Chatterley’s Lover）一案胜诉后，四字母禁忌词不仅涌进了当代文学作品，而且时而在报刊上露面。
如今，在口语中此类词已不再限于用四个字母拼成的词。

12．six of one and half a dozen of the other 半斤八两，不相上下这个俗语的直译为“一个人的六个和另一个人的半打”。
半打就是六个，两者完全相同，只是说法不同而已，故用来比喻两种东西一模一样，相当于汉语里的“半斤八两”。
据认为，该俗语最早出现在19世纪英国作家弗雷德里克。
