1．On money

A famous saying goes that “money is a good servant but a bad master.” Should we become its masters or its slaves? I think we should be the masters of money and never be controlled by money. As we all know, money is necessary for a happy life, for we need money to make a living in the society. But money is not equal to happiness and a lot of rich people live a miserable life. We should think of money in a correct way and never do anything illegal in order to get money.

论金钱

俗话说得好，“钱是个好仆人、坏主人。”那么我们应该成为钱的主人还是仆人呢？我认为我们应该成为钱的主人，永远不要被金钱所控制。正如我们都知道的那样，快乐的生活离不开金钱，因为我们在社会中生活需要金钱。但是金钱不等同于快乐，很多有钱人都过着可悲的生活。我们应该用正确的方式看待金钱，永远不要为了获得金钱而做任何违法的事情。

2．Newspaper

21st Century is my favorite newspaper. It is an English language newspaper which is published in Beijing each week. It has sections of different kinds, including News of the week, the World Today, Language Class, Sports and Music and Students Report. There are plenty of beautiful pictures and interesting articles in it. I enjoy reading the paper. I read it to improve my English. I have learnt a lot of new words and useful expressions. Besides, I can get information about different things, from politics to sports and music. 21st Century is very popular with students and English learners. I do love it.

3．Friendship

Friendship is a kind of human relations. It is a human instinct to make friends. When in trouble, we need friends to offer us help, support and encouragement. With success achieved, we also need friends to share our joys. Friendship is one of the greatest pleasures that we can enjoy. It implies loyalty, cordiality, sympathy, affection, and readiness to help. In short, when we have established friendship, we ought to cherish and treasure it. Only thus, can we develop real friendship and keep the sacred lamp of friendship burning all our life.

友谊

4．My first year in the university

I will never forget my first year in the university. In general it is a time filled with anticipation, some anxiety, and wonderful discoveries. University is much different from high school. The first thing I notice is the workload. It is heavier and more intense than I ever expected before. However, the down periods will pass. I have made a lot of new friends. I am sure university friendships will be among the most satisfying and long-term in my life. I am enjoying my university life. Going to university is as much about finding out who am I as it is about getting the degree.

5．My study plan

A new semester is coming, in order to study English well, I make a study plan. First, try to remember 20 words from dictionary everyday. Second, go over grammar points I have learnt in English class regularly. Third, form a habit of reading an English article in China Daily every day. Fourth, write an English composition every week and ask teacher to revise that for me to improve the writing level. Fifth, listen to English radio as often as possible to improve my listening.

6．The ways to keep fit

It is no doubt that nothing is more important than health. However, many people don’t realize the importan ce of keeping fit. In my opinion, we must have a healthy body because only a strong man can do great task. Now I will tell you how to keep fit.

At first, you should form a good habit of taking exercises every day and try your best to stick to it. The second, pleasure is the key of keeping fit. No matter what you face, you had better keep a good mood. Finally, you should eat more vegetables and fruits and don’t eat too much fry food or fatty food.

If you can do the above, I think you will be fit.

保持健康的方法

毫无疑问没有东西比健康更重要。然而，很多人并没有意识到保持健康的重要性。我认为，我们必须有一个健康的身体，因为只有强壮的人才能做出伟大的工作。现在就让我告诉你怎样保持健康。

首先，你必须养成每天锻炼的好习惯，并尽可能地坚持这个习惯。其次，快乐是保持健康的关键。不管你要面对什么，你最好保持愉快的心情。最后，你应该吃更多的蔬菜和水果，而不要吃太多的油炸或油腻的食物。

7．Sports

Just as lots of teenagers take to pop music, I love basketball. It’s part of my life. I began to play basketball in my childhood. I still remember the good old days when I played with my classmates after school. Later on, as I grew up, almost everything changed, but this sport-playing basketball remained and my love of it grew even stronger.

I love this sport because it brings joys and health to my life. When I got tired from office work, I went to the sports ground and felt refreshed. If there were worries and cares from daily life, I went to the sports ground. There everything went away except basketball. It is basketball that keeps me in good shape and mood.

体育

就像很多青少年喜欢流行音乐一样，我喜欢篮球。篮球是我生活的一部分。我从小时候就开始打篮球。我至今仍然记得那些课后和同班同学一起打篮球的美好时光。后来，我长大了，几乎所有的事情都变了，唯独打篮球这一体育运动仍然留在了我的生活中，我对它的喜爱有增无减。
