Now work or lack of work is becoming a major social problem in the world. It is part of our daily routine as it takes up one half of our waking life. If we don't have work or unsatisfactory work, then our lives are likely to be miserable and empty. It is in this respect that certain industrialized countries now have a particular problem. On Oct. 12, 1989, some Chinese scientists were working at the computers to look for the information they needed. Suddenly they saw a lot of very bright spots crossing and the computers were working much slower. To find out what was happening they stopped their work to check some parts of the computers.
